    Fun Fact - Aldi is actually two different companies, it used to be one owned by two brothers, but then they split it up. Aldi Nord and Aldi Süd, depending on where you are in Germany or the world will depend on which company you are actually shopping at!

      Australia was probably the most expensive country we've visited, and it only really worked for us because our videos did pretty well there.
      Lots of places are expensive but in Oz the effect is compounded by the fact that everything is so far apart! We spent well over $100 USD on just petrol sometimes.
      Still completely worth visiting, though. And (hopefully) settling down in one day!

    • @ReneM246
      @ReneM246 4 месяца назад

      Yep as a fellow Aussie, I'm shocked at how expensive Australia is compared to the rest of the world. There's no way a $150 a day budget would work. And I'm shocked at our grocery prices compared to other food hauls you see people do on RUclips 😢 it makes me wonder why

      @hayleyrichardson9203 2 месяца назад

      @@ReneM246 Australia has the highest minimum wage in the world so that's at least part of it but the knock on effect is big companies don't want to manufacture stuff here because labour is too expensive but then the end consumer ends up paying more due to taxes on imports etc

    So nice that the tunnel was so clean and bright - no graffiti there! 30 yrs ago when I lived in Germany, Aldi was a revelation. It was a bit different back then, but still as marvellous. When I moved back to Australia 16 years ago I discovered the new version of Aldi, with all the furniture, seasonal clothes and electronics. It gets pretty busy when the new stuff arrives. Over the years, its busy-ness has put me off shopping there. Like Tia, I prefer nature and the quiet spaces.

    Hamburg, even in the freezing winter has a certain charm with its old world architecture.
    Impressed how clean the underground tunnel was with no apparent graffiti.

    To see how you spend during the day and how you then utilise any savings for the next day is very informative. 👍
    During the vid it was mentioned about Tia downloading an app. Are there any specific types of apps that you use no matter which country you are in? When you are in a non English speaking country, are tourist type apps available in English versions? Maybe this is area you can touch on in your next video. You are an awesome couple. Travel safe ❤
