You guys are crazy, when they invite Patti Labelle they know exactly what they're going to get, she isn't competing she's doing what she's always done, go up there to sing......It's not her style to sit back and wait for someone else to light the room up, she's a blessing and a true treasure and the insults about her is just sad....Great job Aunt Patti you did well.

you are in error, because Patti and Gerald were like Mother and Son. People who are making more out of this than it is are sad individuals. See the problem is tat "New age singers" don 't sing with the passion and emotion nor expression that "Legends" sing with. Most new age singers ay dance but their body's are stiff when they sing. The Legends let it go and are not concerned about how they look when they sing, and they don't do the ""ridiculous finger in the air note chasing crap". legends didn't/don't oer kill they know when to pour it on and when to take the gas off

I've seen this many times over the years and what made me choke up today is that Mama Patti is so generous that when she sings she gives her all. She pours it all out so it is all left in the stage.

Nobody mentioned Gladys Knight she still sound the same a lot of people say she sound like a man but i give credit where it's due the woman can sing her face off still show her some love too one of the greats love her!
Gladys is a staple, only a deaf person can overlook her obvious talents and only a tone deaf can mistake her voice and style as manly. I don't say you have to like her, I'm not a Beverly Sills fan, but I do recognizer her talent and skills. There are few singers who've retained the richness of their voice in age as Gladys.

This was a blessing and no Patti wasn't trying to upstage anyone, she was being Patti, put your heart into what you do and the rest will follow, that is her art please look at it over, she never did anything to outshine anyone, if you knew her you would know she's not that way she just enjoys the emotion....I love Yolanda- Glady's and especially Patti, this was an amazing performance from all but Patti went all out.....

Love all these artists but especially love Ms. LaBelle. She, like Gerald, never goes half way. It's all or nothing. Some ppl may not appreciate her style but to me (and a lot of others), she's golden!!! I really don't know how Eddie was able to perform this at all. I was sobbing just looking at him and the photos of his wonderfully lovable son. Rest in eternal peace, Gerald. We will always love and miss you!
