Hi Sandra - watching your sizing videos, for etsy digital art prints, if you create art that looks great at all ratios without cropping out anything significant, can you technically, just upload one large file (like 12000x12000) instead providing so many different sized files and the customer (or the customer's print-service) can can scale down to any size they need ? Or is there a downside to that?
I started with Amazon KDP last spring, making notebooks and journals (about 17 so far), but I mainly used Canva, Powerpoint and Creative Fabrica. It's been slow going so far, both in terms of sales and of my attention to it, especially since I've been focusing more on my Etsy shop and creating printables. (As a still relative newbie, my process from ideas-to-actualization is kind of slow still.) I need to give it some serious attention again, though. (I think I've even forgotten some of the book creation how-tos because I've been away from it for a while.) I was hesitant to use Book Bolt at the time because I paid for the other subscriptions and I was like how much more am I going to have to spend to actually start earning anything, lol. I may have to revisit that decision, though. But I love watching your videos because you make the learning process so much easier and clearer! Thank you again!

@@rigelr5345 I hear ya. Yes, it is slow going for me as well. Initially, that was mostly deliberate because I did not post anything on social media for months until I had about 20-25 listings up. Plus, with me being new to it and the learning curve of it all (ideas, creating, formatting, writing descriptions, the various softwares and platforms I was using, learning Etsy, etc.), I wasn't churning things out that rapidly. I have about 40 listings up now. A few months ago I started listing things on Pinterest and, eventually, started a new account on Instagram, too. I'm not paying for ads either, just trying to use good hashtags. Yeah, it does kind of feel like I got dressed up, came late to the party and the other folks ate all the food and got all the goodie bags. I tell myself everybody starts at zero, though. I've gotten (drumroll) 1 sale and that person hasn't commented or otherwise engaged with me in any way (good or bad)...I even sent them a $5 coupon as a "thank you for being my first customer" thing, and there's been nothing but crickets. I have seen some people liking my posts or favoriting some of my listings but those haven't gone further. I didn't make anything Christmas-themed so I think I potentially lost out on that but I've made some printable Valentine cards (with Sandra's tutorial being very helpful!) and will start promoting those, so...here's to hoping. I don't want to give up on this because I am really enjoying it. I figure I'm just going to keep plugging away but also continue learning and absorbing information, ideas and resources.

I was so excited to try this and signed up for Book Bolt, but their Keywords feature is not working , I tried more than one browser and on the phone too, which was a real bummer, it just keeps loading and then an error message appears that the request had timed out, and this is a key feature, so that stopped me in my tracks, I submitted a ticket and I hope they fix it fast, but thank you so much for sharing this.💕

Who would buy a book of empty pages for 30 USD?

I've published 7 KDP books - including medium content. I've taken pains to create attractive content and have reworked keywords too. Some of my books are out there for a year . But none have any sales. I have not used Amazon ads as I do not really understand how these work. Are ads mandatory to get sales ? Do you have any videos explaining how amazon ads work ?

Yes you can edit! I actually even unpublished mine for now to keep it in the bookshelf because I want to add more to my description and add more images, which I'm going to share! So absolutely it can be edited and re-approved :)

Hi Sandra I followed your tutorial along with you and created a book. About 20% of the book is identical to yours. While I was putting it together, it didn’t occur to me that Amazon might consider it to be plagiarism. Is that going to be a problem? Do I need to go back and change anything that’s similar?

Great video but not sure about their research tool. Results are quite different between what I type on Amazon and what I type in BookBolt. And sales look very different as well. I only know this because I use AMZ Scout.

Just uploaded my first book thank you ! Followed your video word by word! It took me a few hours but the next one will be much quicker im sure. I saw an option in KDP to then also upload a Hard back copy of the same listing/book. I tried but in the preview it failed with an error regarding the sizes (i had kept all of the same settings), and it would not approve it - If you can do a video of how to do hard backs that would great then i can get two listings off the same effort of creating one book. - Thanks for your content! Amazing! I did not even know low content book selling was a thing. It's one thing to spend a year writing a novel which may or may not be successful. But if you can create a low content book in like 30 minutes, then even if it sells a single copy every few months for $2 profit, after a few years those 30 minutes have accumulated some truly impressive value!

Great question!! You do not pay Amazon upfront. They only take a cut from your sales :)!

I would personally offer different ratio sizes because it's easier for the customer to set up on their end or at a local printing store :)

Yes you can! As long as you change their premade templates slightly, like add elements or more text :)

Yes you can edit! I actually even unpublished mine for now to keep it in the bookshelf because I want to add more to my description and add more images, which I'm going to share! So absolutely it can be edited and re-approved :)

I followed your tutorial along with you and created a book. About 20% of the book is identical to yours. While I was putting it together, it didn’t occur to me that Amazon might consider it to be plagiarism. Is that going to be a problem? Do I need to go back and change anything that’s similar?

Great video but not sure about their research tool. Results are quite different between what I type on Amazon and what I type in BookBolt. And sales look very different as well. I only know this because I use AMZ Scout.
Hello, Sandra. Thanks for such a useful information. I just wander if I can create the same on Canva? Because here in BookBolt I see that cover size, dimensions are created by default. Have you tried to do the same in other programs, for ex. on Canva?
Just uploaded my first book thank you ! Followed your video word by word! It took me a few hours but the next one will be much quicker im sure. I saw an option in KDP to then also upload a Hard back copy of the same listing/book. I tried but in the preview it failed with an error regarding the sizes (i had kept all of the same settings), and it would not approve it - If you can do a video of how to do hard backs that would great then i can get two listings off the same effort of creating one book. - Thanks for your content! Amazing! I did not even know low content book selling was a thing. It's one thing to spend a year writing a novel which may or may not be successful. But if you can create a low content book in like 30 minutes, then even if it sells a single copy every few months for $2 profit, after a few years those 30 minutes have accumulated some truly impressive value!
