As someone that hasn't played SC in roughly 20 years, Artosis does such a great job at explaining the quick decision making between pro players and how the dynamic of the game changes quickly. Makes it really fun to watch.
Same! I tried playing again a few years ago, but my old self cannot handle the game and APM needed these days as I did 20 years ago. So much more fun now to just watch Artosiscasts. He’s an amazing narrator.
8:48 look at that red dot emerging from the P base at 2. It's that zealot who fucked the game. Gets warped, immediately starts running across the entire map without stopping to charge into the terran base, stirs enough shit up for Protoss to win, and then dies. King shit.
“According to legend, Martim Moniz was a [zealot] participating in the [Protoss] invasion force, led by [executor Paralyze I of Korea], in the Siege of [Troy], during [CNSL 7]. At one point in the siege of [the Terran Main], he saw the [Terrans] closing the castle doors. He led an attack on the doors, and sacrificed himself by lodging his own body in the doorway, preventing the defenders from fully closing the door.” “This act allowed time for his fellow soldiers to arrive and secure the door, leading to the eventual capture of the castle. Martim Moniz was killed in the incident. In his honor, the entrance was dubbed Porta de Martim Moniz (Gate of Martim Moniz).”
The funny thing is that for some reason, that lone zealot was already charging headlong into the terran base even before the siege tanks got there and sieged lmao. I thought maybe he saw his opportunity once they sieged and took it, but no he was already determined to fuck shit up by himself
@@csuszi11 the zealot made the tanks unsiege, which let the goons go in, tank some marine shots, which let the shuttle go in with the reaver and snipe both tanks and a bunch of scvs. After that, protoss just capitalized on that huge advantage... which was only because a single move that triggered a single key mistake
Hey Mr Artosis. I would like to request something :) I am rather new to SC1 and brood war, and dont understand much of the tactics. I started with Day9s tutorial, and the showed some of the famous matches, and explained why and since when (the game he showed) protoss build corsairs against zerg. Would consider doing something like that? As in explaining some of the fundamental tactics and why people do that with example games? Or what the quirks are for certain matchups, for example, why is it okay for terrain to not have as many bases as zerg?) :)
My advice is start playing the game. Campaign first, then start observing games and practicing with average players. You can watch a million videos but if you don't develop basic skills it won't matter at all. It takes time. As for your question... In TvZ Terran stays on less bases because Bio is so cheap for how effective it is. Also Zerg is more mobile, so Terran just kinda stays on 2 bases until later on. Start learning some basic build orders. As skill goes up the build orders get longer to optimize. You'll start to understand if you play for a solid year.
@@alexfriedman2152 thats a kind advice, but i dont have that much time for that, i just enjoy watching sc pro matches :) , even if i dont understand everything at first. I just think it would be easier for people like me to enjoy watching games, with some more explenations material. :) Without day9s tutorial series, i wouldnt even watch here.
i have a question for the pros. i'm doing a challenge i saw(i dont remember if it was a comment section of one of these videos) of beating the entire star craft 1(including brood war) without losing a single unit. so far i did all the terran and protoss campaigns in both the original and the expansion. but i'm stuck in a specific zerg one. it's called "fury of the swarm" i think. you start with 5 bases. one that's safe in an island. and 2 in the north part of the map and 2 in the south. the problem is that as soon as the mission starts, there are rebel zerg attacking the first southern base. and as soon as i get to click on the map, one of my unit has already died......what can be done in that stage?
Love the casts arty. Would like to hear a little more about decision making process/ options for the protoss player too, you seem a little stuck on the terrans perspective
10:00 reavers are total bs. they are what got REMOVED from SC2 - when they added "picking up siege tanks" its the exact same thing. unit splashes - flies away. high dmg + high mobility = zero counter
I think that small round step up in terran tech after the bubker drone opener was overshadowed by just how amazing he countered the early game run with offensive gas another mind game and just out faced the terrans weak overall unit ho and defensive capacity against air dude that shuttle like man more marines or slower start? Because no ebay in any TvP is suicide past like 8 minutes
Anyone who starts rooting for Terran, but then watches them get punked by Protoss for years, eventually starts to appreciate the 3 hatch hydra bust and starts rooting for Zerg.
Idk why more Toss don’t do speed shuttle heavy plays more. All the most one-sided pvt games I have seen were mass shuttles dropping every all the time and zealot bombing sieged positions.
Lol at you giving advice to one of the most famous life long SC casters. But, entertaining your thought, what exactly is wrong with the commentary? Also are you aware that those are unedited in any way, just as they should be?
I personally like his commentary. At least he talks about the game and like wise things. When it's with tastless they ramble, but Artosiscasts is always about Starcraft only. I think he does a really good job.
definitely the right move to like your own post so at least it doesn't look like no one agrees with you, and you got 1 homie, even if it's just yourself.

this wave of CNSL has been fantastic. way better formatted on youtube than last year's CNSL.
excellent coverage and casting Artosis

Game 1 was like a boxing match with beautiful choreography... until one fighter stumbled slightly, right into a counter punch.
This was one of the better series I've watched, thanks for such a great cast artosis!

I'm curious as to how many minerals that kind of bunker repairing under Goon pressure actually costs the Terran.

How is terran supposed to win on retro? Seems like the only choice is to do a 5 factory push or some sort of cheese.
Use your darn mines and missile turrets. Just like any other map.

I guess Ample stayed in the first game so long because it's a tournament. i imagine on ladder he'd have gg'd 15 minutes earlier.
