i was thinking the same! that pressure saber was applying in the beginning was nuts. i def called early GG. then the reaver drop with 4 0kills was such a nice twist!
That last match just made my day. One of the best games. That comeback was insane!! Ruin is the man. Thank you for the amazing casts as always, Arty!!!
Yeah that game was just bizarre. You see the wall with marines and you just throw lings at it. Even fairly low level players would know this is a stupid move. Not sure what the thinking was there
@@EB-bl6cc a possible mis-click? A fatigue induced mistake? A drug induced mistake? A younger sibling playing on older siblings account? The moves were terrible.
Honestly, it’s a pity that last game is hidden at the end of such a long video…. I’d consider pulling that cast out and posting it separately…. It was SO good.
Um, actually... "Organ" is not "basically the same" as a piano. They look similar but are fundamentally different. The piano strikes strings inside when you press the buttons whereas the organ is a woodwind instrument. Organs are commonly found in old churches.
The ... er, "interface" looks pretty similar, but even that is only partially - there are register switches and a set of pedals as well. In German, "Klavier" is a term for an upright piano, while "Flügel" is a term for a grand piano ("Flügel" means "wing", and the lid is shaped like one). Still, a piano is probably the best way to practice playing an organ if you don't have access to one. And an organ is something more exclusive. So, changing your name from piano to organ (however it was written) is thematically appropriate and like saying "Practice is over, now it's time for the big leagues".
Thank you for the clarification. I am not a native English speaker and I almost believed Arty that my knowledge about "piano" and "organ" being different was faulty.
@@Althemor Those two are the same musical instrument - Flugel is what in English is often called "Concert piano". Neither Piano nor Concert (or Grand) piano have anything to do.. apart from being musical instruments - with the organ (german name Kirchenorgel). Organ (Kirchenorgel) is that wind instrument usually found in churches (and at abt. 0:40 in "House of The Rising Sun" as performed by "Animals") whereas pianos (doesn't matter if vertical or horizontal.. the latter being larger, classier and usually used in concerts) - are the same.
Oregon is actually a state in the United States of America and has nothing to do with piano. Salem is the capital of Oregon and Portland is the biggest city.
Amaaazing cast dude. I have never watched competitive e-sports but I played a lot of BW back in early 00s. Nostalgia factor brought me in, excellent matches and thorough commentary have kept me. Been tearing through your vids the last week or so! That last game was really, really cool. Great plays on both sides
I mean, dude went from living in SK to the Canadian maritimes. Tempo in a major city is with like a quarter the population of our entire country is way different than the sleepy ass maritimes.
An organ is a wind instrument (wind through pipes), a piano is a percussion instrument (hammers hitting strings), both have keys for playing notes, but they are very different.
Awesome last game! I really like when you cast these as a series instead of one game at a time. I know the longer videos can be harder for people to fit in to their schedules, but I think seeing several games from a small group of players helps build up the drama and story for those of us who don't follow the SC pro scene outside of Artosis' casting. I definitely enjoyed the final match more thanks to having seen both players win and lose some games earlier in the video.
Oh my wowzers that last game was insane. That high level PvZ is so amazing to watch. The amount of Skill from Ruin was insane. It's so difficult to play late game Protoss VS Zerg, especially going sair and reaver like that.
Hey Arty, I just wanted to impart on you that an organ is a giant instrument that moves air through pipes, and a piano is an instrument with hammers hitting strings. They can be confused for each other because they both have a keyboard interface. inb4 "shut up nerd nobody cares lmao"
Yo arty thx for keep making bw content. Everything about these videos has become so so much better the last few months. Please keep continuing to improve! As a personal addendum it would be awesome to see stuff besides just normal casting. Maybe something more technical or going in depth. Just like the videos about the ai, going into strategy/ tactics/ gametheory etc. i find that the most interesting. Anyways. Thx for the content
the last 2 games were both really really different and fun to watch. a bit disappointing that neither zerg really made it into hive tech but still such incredible tactics honestly
I have the same question about disruption web! There were definitely times that would have been huge when doing base harass and keeping the hydras from getting a few potshots at the corsairs
Saber vs Ruin what a nostalgic game there, the classic PvZ on a macro game always ending on a containment or a protoss run over. It only miss the zerg drop to be a complete old 2010 game.
Damn that last game was epic, Artosis if you make a "highlights of 2024" or "highlights of the first half of 2024" video of matches, that last game definitely deserves to be in it.
Sorry, organ is not piano. They're both operated by keyboards, but piano is a percussion instrument, where lever operated, felt hammers strike strings. An organ on the other hand, is typically valve-operated, with pumps pushing air through varying length of pipes that are opened by valves relating to the keypresses. Not to mention that many kinds of organs have MULTIPLE keyboards, including a floor keyboard, with different pulleys and valves operated by the player to change the timbre.
Ruin's training involves a lot of Space Invaders. He has seen many Templar fall because they storm where the Mutas are, rather than where they are going to be.
Rt love your casts but seriously, you need to pay more attention to the mini map. In the last game there was a moment when Saber was severely mismicroing his main army on the front of P base. There was a reason: by looking at the mini map, you could clearly assume there was a DT killing his 4th, so Z was busy coping with it. That was literally the turning point of the game and you missed it completely. You realized what happened only when you saw the dt with 9 kills about 5 minutes later, lol. Really don't mean to be harsh, I appreciate your work, this is just an easy thing to fix on your casts.
Artosis: "Light is the best player in the world" *gets knocked out of the ASL by Shuttle and other low-rated players consistently* Artosis: Bisu is going to beat snow in this bo5 *bisu gets 3-0'd in 30 minutes* Artosis: Ruin is the best up and coming protoss. Sorry Ruin. Better luck next time.
oh baby! that sabre v ruin game, that flank was just *chefs kiss* honestly I didn't even see how he got those units there, wasn't even an expo. I wonder if the muta flyby that got bopped so hard, resulted in not enough storm to handle the jumpscare hydra flank.
A piano is playing SC1 Protoss: multi-tasking required, somewhat complex, but even new players can make a nice song. An organ is playing SC1 Terran: As if the 3 keyboards were not enough to handle all at once, you are simultaneously playing a giant keyboard with your feet…
In the game Ruin vs Saber, wouldn't it have helped Saber to go for ultralisks when Ruin had that many templars? It's also an intersting question for me what Saber could've done against the drops. The terrain on the border of the map gives air units a comfortable zone to retreat to, without units like hydras being able to reach them. Then, if you have like 8 corsairs, you are safe from scourge too. Maybe bite the bullet and place two spore colonies in each base to ensure at least the shuttle doesn't get out?
I'm a music teacher and I'm mildly triggerd that you just said a piano and organ are essentially the same lol there is almost nothing the same about them except literally just the keyboard portion.
It's interesting how Ruin will send his first scout just to the edge of the main base in PvZ, just far enough to see the creep but not far enough to be seen. We see it in multiple games in this video. It gives me the impression that he prioritizes his early-game macro more than other players do, so he doesn't want to force himself to micro the probe until he has the APM to do so. So he sits it on the edge of vision where the Zerg can't see it until he moves in for the full scout.
Second game, supply was roughly equal when ruin resigned. He had just killed sabers entire army. Did he overestimate what saber had left at that point or is it just zerg remaxes faster?
Zerg remaxes a bit faster, especially in the mid game when it's like 6 hatchery vs 8 gate, but also each supply is more efficient. So 1 hatch can make 6 lings vs 1 gateway making 1 zealot. It's mathamatically impossible without perfect storms.
Shields don't take true damage, they take full damage from any type of attack. Explosive, concussive, normal, doesn't matter. The shield upgrade reduces incoming instances of damage by 1.
Insane last game. And you make an excellent job when solocasting BUT the amount of harassing/attacks/drops you missed in the last game is alarming :O. Please don't take it the wrong way, you are already the best english caster ever but you ask for feedback so here it is: Sound is great, video is perfect and your take on the game is high quality because you put a lot of attention into it but that leads you into losing track of little things that are goin on on the mini map. You want a little more multitask and one eye on the minimap baby, just like when you are playing haha. That is the number one area in wich you could the castseven more right now if you'd allow me to be a little greedy. Excellent job overall, thanks for the games.
spoilers are these games played one after another in this tournament ? i am wondering if organs firebat decision is based on his previous game, where those basically won him that game so the memory of using them with success was still an influence on his decission
That first game was hilarious. The amount of credit Artosis gave one of the players crumbling to dust within seconds of one move was absolutely incredible.
Worst case for reaver on the defense seems to be that they blow up 4-6 hydras and then get rushed down and basically I'm starting to think toss players have a gentleman's agreement with zerg to defend with 6 cannons instead of one reaver
13:05 Why is there such a hurry getting those zealots out? Like he sacks 8 lings to kill 3 zealots so its not terrible. But why not build a sunken and force them to fight in the open? I get not wanting to waste drones on sunkens but like larvae is a resource as well and minutes later he is making lings again and after that he builds a sunken there anyway.
The game between Saber and Ruin had me on the edge of my seat until the very end. What an incredible game and what an incredible cast. Thank you arty

That first game pissed Arty off. He's thinking "I ladder all day and lings never donate themselves like this to MEEEE!!!!"
honestly it pisses me as a pure watcher off too, like arty said, that move is just stupid on a disrespectful level.
No arty would say "the one time I move out early and he runs 1000 lings into my base. If I do nothing he's dead. LITERALLY DEAD!"
Yeah that game was just bizarre. You see the wall with marines and you just throw lings at it. Even fairly low level players would know this is a stupid move. Not sure what the thinking was there
