Reminds me of David Lynch, not because it copies his style, but because it kept me alert, as if something terrible was always about to happen. (And maybe also because Maya Postepski at 0:52 looks like Sheryl Lee playing Madeleine Ferguson in Twin Peaks.) And I love the song, too. Maybe it's wrong to judge an album by the titles of the songs, but I have the feeling I'm going to love this.

To me it seems obvious that the gorgon character represents the feminine jealousy at " gorgeous women" that the crop of young pubescent boys follow. The older woman who is confident in her sexuality goes off with the boy, the shy girls staring at brooke candy as the rage of the gorgon increases. austra claim " don't hurt me now" in a other women are not your enemy, just be yourself and love yourself. therefore the head of the female rage is removed and no longer has its thrall .
This video may seem completely meaningless and even silly, instead it is visionary, experimental and also poetic in some scenes (for example the one in which the singer walks among all those young boys). Moreover it is an ode to David Lynch's aesthetic...

Austra 's one of my top 3 favorite bands, but I cannot stand their videos...thankfully I buy and listen to their music on repeat for their actual music and not being normal Hollywood trash/predictable music videos. I think it's better to just listen to their music so you can make up your own idea about the songs, instead of remembering this stuff, though?
