Power and the glory, Heavy metal thunder, Strong arm of the law, Sailing to America,Dallas... one of the first bands that introduced me to metal, along with Irons and Metallica
Saxon, one of the greatest Metal bands ever, one of the founders of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, at one time bigger than Maiden and still kickin ass to this very day - you could do a lot worse than going deep into this fantastic band 🤘
Still going strong today even though the lead singer is in his 70's (and still sounding as good as ever I might add). One of the powerhouse bands of the 'New Wave of British Heavy Metal'. 21 studio albums to date.
Never let you down with good guitar riffs, energetic, rocking out always, I always come back to them when I need energy, after 40 years listening to the first album I borrowed in the library (power & the glory)
I was the driver to Steve Dawson and Graham Oliver when their current band Oliver/Dawson Saxon, (the original guitarist and bass player of Saxon) played a gig here in Sweden some years ago. Hahahaha. That was fun
Great to hear see you loving Saxon. May i recommend some other great artists you may not have heard of. Little Angels, Quireboys, Girlschool, Gary Moore, the Temperance Movement and my own personal favourite THUNDER
Saxon was the very first band I saw live. Think it was 1979, when they played at Lancaster University. That was when Lancaster was one of the best gigs around and all the top bands played there. Saw them the following year when they played at Monsters of Rock at Castle Donnington. Always put on a great show. By the way if Heavy Metal is your thing, you'll never do better than Wacken Festival.
I saw them two nights ago at a small venue (300 people, maybe?), and they BROUGHT it. Showed the exact same intensity as they do at a massive arena show. Biff Byford is truly an ageless wonder.
1st band i ever saw in 1983. The Eagle Has Landed tour. The girls at school liked my t-shirt the next day. We managed to change the uniform policy through war of attrition. Check out Motorcycle Man by Saxon.🤘
This song got them banned from Dubai. To the question “who is Saxon,” the answer is, one of the best (possibly THE best IMO) and one of the most under-rated heavy metal bands ever fo come out of the U.K. When people discuss heavy metal and start reeling off names like Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Motörhead and Judas Priest, the name of Saxon belongs right up there.
@@ghichens3418I guess you were probably thinking of AC/DC? (Although even they were mostly Scottish by birth, ie Bon Scott (Forfar), Angus Young & Malcolm Young (Glasgow)), and Bon was succeeded after his death by an Englishman (Brian Johnson.)
Saxon are one of a handful of groups from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal from the end of the '70s to have big success (two others being Iron Maiden and Def Leppard). I have seen them live a number of times and they have a number of great singalong anthems to get the crowd going. My suggestion to try next - Denim & Leather
SAXON!!!!! They are a great 70-80's band. One of their best songs is Dallas 1 pm (about Kennedy being shot) DIO is also a great one. ROnny James DIo is a legend, he sung also that sweet song with the froggies "love is all" He sung in Black Sabath after Ozzie and had his own band DIO.
Warlords of wacken. Nice. Had the pictured lp. It is somewhere. Yes, sold it to some saxon fan as my player stop. Slight remorse, but it went to Who apprecied .
The band who, if you believe the stories, Spinal Tap was largely based on. And if you check out the original bass player and compare him to Derek Smalls, it does seem possible... They were a great band back in the day, Saxon. An under rated one certainly.
Please consider reacting to LOVEBITES Hammer of Wrath live ruclips.net/video/pHrWRT0Jeac/видео.html. They release this just a week ago, it's from their March 2023 show. Their first show in 2yrs and features new bassist Fami (first show w/Lovebites). These ladies are metal AF; all 5 of them are masters of their craft AND the guitar duo of Midori (blond) and Miyako (dark haired) is deadly. Thunder Goddess Haruna, all 4' 9" of her, kills it on drums! 🤘
If you have the chance, pick up the crusader album. I guarantee, as much as, you liked the title song, you will love "sailing to america" and "run for your lives."😊
Saxon is an old school legend! I love this song, but I don't like this version! The strings are too distracting and the mix wasn't very good as well. I was there in Wacken at the time. It was kind of a trend back then to bring classical instruments onto the stage. Some brought a whole orchestra with them... usually only partially managed to make the songs come across fresher.
Hi, ive just finished watching ur reaction. To saxons ( crusader ) awsum band. Been around awhile ive played in a band . And they were a big influence at the time. You must listen to there other live version of ( crusader ) its just as good but without the orchestra They do have alot of great songs please do more reactions...awsum
Saxon...so many good songs, Denim and Leather, Broken Heros, Princess of the Night, the list goes on and on.

The band was formed in my home town of Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
Crusader album is excellent, it was so good I got a painting of it.
Saxon are fantastic. Strong arm of the law, princess of the night, 20,000 feet. Lots of classics
Dude! I haven't heard Saxon since I was in year 9! That was 1981! JMFC!

Haven't heard Saxon for years...'And The Bands Played On' was a classic song of theirs when I was younger
Wheels of Steel, 747[ Strangers in the Night], Heavy Metal Thunder may be worth checking out by them
Didn't even see the video yet, but thumbs up because nobody ever reacts to this awesome band

Great video. Thanks for checking Saxon out. I’m glad you enjoyed it 🤘🇬🇧🤘

They were around when I was a kid in South Africa.. Not exactly on the radio, but good record shops had their albums 😎💪🏼
Heavy metal at it's finest 😁🤘👊🤟

Wacken has always been good for metal heads. Should check out Avantasia, Powerwolf and Gloryhammer at Wacken.
Saw them back in 79 when they were supporting Whitesnake. Good, solid Metal band.

legendary track and my first album from saxon
Never heard of them. I liked his voice. Of course you can't go wrong with added violins.
Alongside Iron Maiden, Saxon were at the forefront of the new wave of British heavy metal in the late 70's and early 80's
