When Sheryl gets hit in the face with that stuffed animal, the look on Prince's face as he steps over to her to make sure she's okay is just incredible. I watch this video a fair bit when I'm blue & their doing this song moves me everytime!
I don't think she is... A lot of younger artists mention her as an influence & do cover versions of her songs... As @AC said, she's had plenty of awards too.
LMFAO underrated when & where??? First 5 albums out of the box all mega multi Platinum, critics have respected her & fans have loved her from day one, & she's got a laundry list of awards...How come person is underrated simply because someone is just now discovering them?
Man, Prince really didn't walk through anything. Eclectic and passionate vocals, and so many elements in his guitar playing - hard rock, blues, country, funk...
Watching Prince's facial expressions when Cheryl starts digging into the lyrics of this funky version is priceless. He knew he was right on the money suggesting a slower version of this tune. What an amazing moment caught on camera.
So ur at Sheryl's concert and out of the blue the God of Music PRINCE walks up the stage, casually plays along and pushing the song to another level, finishes with a phenomenal albeit short solo and wanders off again as to not steal your thunder. What a class act! Plus, He could do these surprise appearances with any band, any music genre, anytime! ... 💜 O(+> 4ever #GOAT
Absolutely one of my top three vids of all time. Great tune with a great hook, syncopation. Prince at his classiest and impish at the same time, and warm chemistry between he and Sheryl. And then of course his picture perfect solo - pure class and magic. My God . . . Notice how two seconds before his solo begins he hikes his pickups' gain to a humming/howling feedback then rips into the solo. He knows just how to move the guitar to reach natural feedback harmonics with the roar of his amps - a Hendrix technique, and probably the only time it's been done on a country-themed track - live, no less. Simply masterful.
I was at Hop Farm Festival to see him one year. The sound had been terrible all day . The sound guys were 100 feet away and he re-jigged it to perfection. Sheer genius. Love this one.
What a performance from two multi talented performers. They write it, sing it and can play it all.One a goddess the other simply the greatest live performer of all time. Just when you think could not be any cooler throw in a Bowie t-shirt for good measure.
Love this, wonder when/where it was, he must have come on stage for an earlier song as I didnt hear the crowd go crazy as I would expect , but its a country/ rock crowd? So who knows. He adds so much with his evident enjoyment and subtle guitar playing then great solo. Ive never heard another player add so much by playing such perfectly placed notes over an established hit rock song. Its like everyone else hears music in 3D but he hears it complete in 4D and fills in the colours we didnt realise were missing. Respect to Cheryl and Prince.
I guess gorgeous, talented people just hang out together and the rest of us mere mortals stand around looking and enjoying their presence. But I do get sad when seeing Prince and knowing he's no longer with us and that his only child died and he left no progeny.
@@sunstarsmoon To me that is the saddest part. The fact that there are no Prince offspring. With technology today being what it is women can freeze their eggs, have surrogates bear their kids. etc. Jennifer Aniston stated she wished someone had suggested she had her eggs frozen years ago. Yep, the world is a sadder place without Prince progeny.
Further to my question below, I found out where and when this performance was from a Cheryl Crow interview on the Kelly Clarkson show. She said it was a duet at the "Little Fair(?)" Festival in Toronto - must have been in the early days of his relationship with Manuela Testolino his second wife whose family were based in Toronto, so c 1999 ish . He spent a lot of time in Toronto around 99 to 04 and had a house there for a few years.
Prince was so special and hope everyone realizes that. He is so missed
Next time you hear this song in the grocery store, remember there is a BADASS version of this song with Prince playing a great solo
never ever heard this in the store
best day of her life, Prince is especially 🔥🔥🔥 here!
How the hell have I never seen this?!?!? That is magical as fuck!!!!
Prince was the master of so many things ... including the Irish Goodbye.

I like the way he very subtly pointed to that area in the crowd too, like, no! lol
How did I never know this existed? JHC. It's like finding a priceless relic. Two of my biggest musical influences. 💜❤
same!
This is an awesome version. Prince and Sheryl crow do an awesome duet . Shame he passed away. Rip prince
her whole career is because of Michael Jackson and the BAD tour
When someone remains in our mind and heart still living and with the new technology we keep enjoy performances like this.
Prince did a funk version of this.
We know… why is that being reiterated?

Sheryl Crow is so underrated as a songwriter and artist. She wrote this song in 1996.
she has so many awards
I don't think she is... A lot of younger artists mention her as an influence & do cover versions of her songs... As @AC said, she's had plenty of awards too.
@@sadie376 yup she was a decent sized artist for a while. Got her start by being in MJ's tour

I seen it 😂❤ so awesome!!!! He’s like yeah sing it girl!!!
prince walking off stage with a minute left to go was one of the most badass things I've ever seen
lol he said "did my job, peace yall"
Cheryl is looking for him... where did he go?
Sheryl is super talented and gorgeous so was Prince. If they'd had a baby together, OMG! that kid would've been photogenic

That's because he was a musicians musician..Genius.

Yes he shows a great feel for the song. A sad loss.
Such a brilliant guitarist.
That’s a rare combination
...RARE & SOOOOOOO AWESOME!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖🙏
Why? Sheryl Crow was a backup singer for Michael Jackson at one time.
her whole career is because of Michael Jackson and the BAD tour
Artist formerly known as has a great smile 😊💜
Her energy is just wonderful and of course prince is Legend
My sister loves Sheryl Crow
I love Prince
And we love eachother and relish this music together!
Came here after the Howard Stern interview. Sheryl rocks!!!!

Good music is good music
Christmas Day 2021, blessed to even know this tune exists 🎄💕
He wrote for country acts so he knows what’s good

U r so right 👉 ❤️
Prince and David Bowie 2gether on stage ..... a dream comes true 😁
I was just thinking he probably approved that
Why does this have less than 40k views 🤷🏻. This is magical
Tshirt Bowie 🔝🔝💫⚡⚡💙
Was nothing he couldn't do amazingly well. Brought that funk, no matter what stage.

What a great number with Sheryl Crowe
I like it!Good combination!
When they're standing next to each other, I think, "Sheryl must be really short!" 😜 Prince was only 5'2" 😜😜☕
Blows me away every time.
OMG....this is like pulling an old pair of sneakers out of the closet, to have $300 you didn't expect fall out.
Perfect analogy

Already a good and funky song. Only Prince could have slowed it down just a touch and made this video. Love them both. Thanks
this is her version. Prince did his own version and its not like this
