    Such a SWEET setup.
    I love 500s, I've rode the T1 on DRZs, XR650R(Martin's BODACIOUS, LOL) 525s, 530, 500, and a 350xc, the torque comes in handy climbing in loose rocks, easy to control wheel spin, the 350xc was fun, but was more work.
    I've missed the Tour the past 3 years, brain injury, lost balance, was hoping to get back this year, but it will be next year. Seeing these videos are inspiring!!!
    I put on flexxbars this year, love them with the vibe inserts, and a Scott's helps me in the rocks and with fatigue.
    Day 1 has changed lots over the years, but it's usually hot and the climbs(love them). I had good luck with a trail tech fan over a stock fan, I set limit lower and had fan on earlier, I would run with no headlight when climbing.
    I wounder if a little extra fuel in the midrange would help with heat on the climbs.
    Nice you have the catch system.
    If you have any updates on your trail tech with the buddy system, please advise, I've been watching, but am not current with the tech.
    Are you finished this year? or riding?
    I think next year I'll rock a FE450, slightly better mpg, still good torque, maybe less heat. Linkage rear, more PLUSH, lol. I'll lower suspension 1 inch and go with a thicker seat.
    Have fun

      Hey Brad Lu - The 501 is amazing. I didn’t have any overheating issues this year and yes we finished, Team Coleman Stove, finishers #80 and #81.
      My mpg were consistently about 45 -47 mpg (if I remember correctly).
      The TOU for 2022 is going to be an epic route. See my follow up video on my bike and gear review. It all did amazingly well.

      Map the 501 now. It can be tramped up like a motoX then back. It's this guy I've watched.

    I just replaced my FMF quiet insert with the ultra quiet. I will lose a little HP, but quieter is good. Only $30. I also put a RAM ball on the front of my hand guards for my Montana 700. Gets it lower and out front where it is easier to see.

    • @hammy7139
      @hammy7139  2 года назад +1

      I’ll look into that insert for sure. I actually mounted that 700 on a Ram mount attached to the front cross member of my Flex Bars, utilizing the same holes as my other GPS mount. It worked awesome. Check out my other video with the review after the TOI.
      Actually, I ended up installing an ultra quiet pro Moto billet end cap on the stock can. I changed it the day before I left.
      Thanks for the info!

      @@hammy7139 We just installed the ultra quiet PMB on my son's stock can too. Once we get out for a spring ride we can compare the two. I will check out your other videos. Thanks for sharing.

    Man ya did so much. I feel u. I did w my 690 2020. Suspension and and . Regret all of it. Now the 501 Suspension and fan for radiator kinda nailed it. Chain tires and freed up thr exhaust and mapping. Never more again. The stiffer I made my bike the more beating it takes. Stock husqvarna 2022 is bomb I'm 198. Man don't we just wish they actually were ready to go ?!

      Very cool! Keep in touch, let me know if you need anything. It’s a huge undertaking and it overtakes your life. I’m hoping we are successful this year so I can get it out of my system…
      I just live over in Spokane.

      We were hoping for this year but lot of my parts are on back order and two of my friends who are going with me are broken up. One broke 9 ribs front and back on the rights side about 5 weeks ago and the other fracture 5 vertebrae in his neck 4 weeks ago.

    Killer video! Beautiful bike. Do you need that much power? A 501 with a GET ECU? Wow.

    • @hammy7139
      @hammy7139  3 года назад +2

      Well, need is a strong word 😉. I will say that I love this bike. I love the power, too. I have a lot of plans for this thing. I think the 350 is the perfect size for the TOI but the 501 is not much heavier at all. I wouldn’t say it’s over powered in anyway but it does have a ton of torque. I’m usually not more than 1/8 throttle.
      Thanks for the compliment, too. This bike is dialed in and I think I found my electrical issue but I haven’t confirmed it quite yet. Hopefully I will know this week or next.

    Love your setup...do you have signals installed? I'm doing a similar build and trying to figure out how to wire them in.

    • @hammy7139
      @hammy7139  2 года назад

      Thank you, it is pretty dialed in. It came with stock signals so the wiring was there. I’ve all but totally illuminated them though.

    Like your bike I’m on a 2019 fe 501. Has the boyesen water pump helped keep cool long term?

    • @hammy7139
      @hammy7139  2 года назад

      Hey Levi! I don’t think so, at least I didn’t see anything significant. I did just do the Samco hoses and thermostat delete but haven’t tested that yet. I think my extreme temp readings were likely from the stupid dock for the Trail Tech Voyager Pro and not over heating but I don’t know that for sure yet.
      I order the new TTVP extreme duty docks so we will see how much better those are.

      @@hammy7139 sweet, I watched the interview and was surprised you were able to press on past the coolant problems from day 6/7. I was on team Dennil floss tycoon. We retired day 4 when my friend was to tired to continue. Lots learned.

    • @hammy7139
      @hammy7139  3 года назад +1

      @@Motoseaner Day 4 got us last year too. It is a tough one especially when you make bad decisions like we did.
      As far as my cooling system, I’m not entirely sure. I flushed everything and didn’t find any debris. I’m not sure that it wasn’t the TTVP dock giving me off readings. My air temp was reading 299 deg. The 501 is amazing though.
      Come back next year with a new perspective on the TOI and finish it. Once it’s in your blood, there is nothing else that matters till it’s accomplished - at least it was that way for me!

    How would you rate the stock suspension on your first attempt?
    How big of an improvement was the revalve for the TOI?
    Is stock suspension fine to do the tour ?

      @@jimmycrowell8854 honestly, the stock suspension felt really good, but the custom suspension is amazing. That being said, I never disliked the stock setup. Does that make sense?
