Launched this one a few hours early because I'm on vacation! Road tripping through six US states this week, follow me on Instagram to see where I'm headed. Might be coming to your state :D instagram.com/nicksymmonds
Could you do a triple jump video please. Also could you also do a video on Nick Symmonds Too, where you talk about what is a good time/distance for each event for your age. Thank you 😁
@Gabe da Babe let's see you delete that comment because nobody likes people who do this 🙃
@JespBoi next season for sure!!
Illinois?
@@nicksymmonds are you gonna do discus and shot put next season
I can’t believe how many people love the 5k it’s my favorite event
DONT LOOK AT MY ABOUT
If i could choose between death or 5k, I'd choose death
@@blakecreed2272 chill, wasn't going to
Same 5k is my favorite
@@gl4989 me too, 5k is a trip to hell
imagine just running a 5k and then getting told you have to do a 4x4, I would cry
you recover fast when you train regularly. Most couch potatoes could not run hard for a lap, they would mentally break OR they would run well below their potential because they don't even want to go near the feeling of anxiety you get when you know you are facing something that's going to hurt if you put your heart in. Start easy, run 1 mile a day as slow as you want, and let your heart want more without rushing it and 100pct you can do it
@@MMABeijing I run and lift almost every day of the week and doing a 5k then a hard 400 would kill me
It honestly wasn’t too bad, my 4x4 group had Nick run first leg so we had more recovery time 😂
@@M1nistersBlackVeil I jog everyday and that's good to start from, but that's only a good start. The people who came to that event and then ran the 4*400 train. They don't "workout", "stay fit" or whatever, they actually train track and field. If you train track and field you can recover from y our 5k in 20 to 30 mn I would say. When I started training with a coach I was really fit, training Muay Thai on a regular basis and skipping rope regularly as well...but training 400m is hard, at least the way my coach trains is hard. Let me illustrate it for your: in the beginning I had such a hard time to recover between each say 450m that by the second set I could hardly walk straight, and truly believed that I would drawn if I face planted into the puddle on the track. I can not believe that I can do fine what I could hardly survive then. Of course a lot of that is pacing and posture. Running balls out would kill anybody, and training teaches you that: to pace. Seeing how healthy your lifestyle is I am confident that within 6 months of track and field training (in a club of course) you would be able to do the 5k followed by a 400. The people who are coming to Nick's events are not playing around don't be fooled, they are fighters
There was a pretty big break in between so it wasn't that bad
Nick...
I am from Europe and next year that 800m is mine.
You are something special in this world, I think you already realise it.
3:58 Ayyy let’s go, that’s me lol! Thanks for having us out Nick, the drive from Twin was totally worth it!!
Ayyyyyy
Your friend Big Papi is an absolute legend
👏👏👏👏
You shoulda went out like big papi 😂😂
Crazy you got to run it!
I remember my freshman year of high school I would always come in last during races/time trials. Really warms my heart watching this video and seeing how much respect everyone has for each other regardless of skill/speed/age/etc. You don't have to be a world-class athlete or a 4-minute miler to enjoy the beauty of this sport. Always enjoy watching these community running videos. Props to the guy who ran barefoot!
Thanks so much Nick!!! This was totally worth the 10 hour drive! I was laughing so hard when I saw Big Papi leading out in the front! Absolute Legend!
Yoooo there’s me pulling a suicided death pace!😂 Thanks for putting this event together it was a awesome experience for me and my best buds!!🙏😁 It was a honor that I got to meet you my man your the most energetic and cool person I’ve met!!👌🏽 keep being the awesome guy you are! Hey are you going to do any running videos in Boise this summer?🤔
Yo no way the legend himself lmao 😂😂😂. I’m subbing
Joey from Kent WA here, thanks again for the wonderful event. Probably ran a couple minutes slower than planned (pizza was a questionable pre race meal) but had a great time. Really awesome you took the time to meet everyone! See you all next time! Thank you Nick, Tiana, Ryan, and everyone else!
That first guy had the biggest heart, giving away their prize, i hope the second one thanked him!
Me: Can barely run 1 Lap
Nick+Subscriber : going crazy and running like there is no tomorrow
Didn't know Tom Cruise had a side gig at Gymshark.
Big Papi has inspired me to be a better runner and run more relays
Finally, a twitch plug with viewer lobbies I can win.
Ok so you did the 5k on the track this spring, but I know you’re a huge advocate for cross country. How about a Nick Symmonds XC classic in the fall? Do a middle school distance 2-mile one week, a high school distance 5k the next. It could be a rust buster in August or a championship in early November. What do you think?
Loved this whole series, your energy is amazing Nick! This and the mile were my favorite effects to watch!!!! Love your Olympian career and you're an amazing RUclips content creator! Such an impact in this world.
Me: man I should run outside like they are doing that would be fun!
Also me: ehh I don’t feel like it let’s eat and watch ytube
Edit: thanks for the likes 🙂
Absolutely love it. Thank you Nick for being the athlete to give back in such a huge impactiful way! I hope to join you guys for another event soon 🙂
this makes me want to run a 5k now
such a great distance!!
I luv the 5k and I’m 12
I like 5k but I never run it
Let's get it !
@@nicksymmonds I love the 800m. With your help.
Great series Nick ! Loved all the events, especially the long jump, looking forward to more :)
Will have many more events this summer!!
Let’s go Nick!!!!! Make us 30+ year olds proud!
love the energy- love the running community, dont know how they hell those guys ran barefoot on a track give them some lotion or something my god lol
one of those guys got multiple blood blisters
If the 5k is a marathon for nick imagine what an actual marathon would be like for him
Respect for bringing the running community together 👏
Thanks for putting this on! It was a lot of fun.
What a god
I used to love the 5K when I was in high school. My average time was 17:30, which was considered great where I live (Canada), and I often finished in the top 10 at track meets. However, in my home country where I grew up (Ethiopia), 17:30 at a high-school track meet gets you in about 30th-40th, middle of the pack! You can see up to 15 people finish sub 16.
17:30 is an amazing pace that not alot of ppl can do. I just broke my record at 5 km today (21:05) I’m 15 btw
Love your videos. They are constantly teaching me to become a better runner!
I definitely want to get over to USA for a holiday so I can go to the Nick Symmonds Track classic to test myself
What area do you live in?
@@philomenaakpanaadie2015. I don't live in the USA because I live in NZ
Really really marvelous! I luv your videos so much and the only one which disappoints me is that i hv to wait for one whole week to wait for your videos!damn i luv this channel
Tried my best to get up and watch this race. I always love your content Nick!
There are some really fast runners in Nick's track meets. Amazing!!
Apparently Tom Cruise went back in time to work with Gymshark. Respect
You already know this is bouta be a banger🔥
Hope you like it!
Awesome surprise coming early, been looking forward to this vid ❤
this track series keeps me going :)
i went to the track just now, came back, checked the date, then i was like, "yes, may 30!" love your weekly posts nick.
Yesssss I’ve been waiting to watch this 😤
Love your content recently, good stuff!
honestly mad respect to everyone who did this being on a track I complain about doing a 2 mile on a track (Heck untill my softmore year i even tried to avoid the mile) especially that barefoot people iv ran with 1 shoe in middle school during cross races but running bare foot 5k on top of it being a track from the pain it self and the boredom insane.
Nick is an awesome runner keep it up nick
I love how when he speeds up the video a bit the runners just zoom across the track looking like 🏃🏼♂️🏃🏼♂️🏃🏼♂️
OMG I LOVE THIS!! Wish I was there
I like all your videos my man. Every single one of them got a like from me.
I hope to see a season 2 next year because I want to participate.
Really digging this series! Since COVID is clearing up, I wonder if a NSTC will become a legit high school/college meet!

4x400m is the best event in track and field and nobody can say otherwise

These kids crazy. Im 25 not in the best shape so my best 5k is like 34 min lol. Seeing 18 min I am in awe.
Corona: exists
Nick symmonds: crowded 50 man race😂😂
The only way to beat corona is to overcrowd it :)
If you live in the US and aren't vaxxed you've done something wrong
@John Cena so it’s not over lol
Definitely the best running youtuber
Nick just yeet us wif another video tht need to wait till next week😂
He made sure to take off the first 400 really quick so nobody won the free shoes for guessing his time, lol love you Nick.
OMG IM SO PROUD OF YOU NICK 💜✌️
