    Your SP-5 is BEAUTIFUL 😮 This is my personal favorite place to come for a review. Dude actually uses his knives,does realistic mods. Idk im not a hillbilly in a shed but we got the same knives and similar styles. I love your top 5...

    Excellent knives.
    My favorite Ontario is the SP43. I gave mine to my nephew about ten years ago, expecting to get another…. But they went out of production.
    Mumma Bear loves her Longhorn Bowie! It is her number one.
    If I had to pick my top five, four of them would be TOPS knives.
    Number five , four, and three would be my Prather War Bowie, Tahoma Field Knife, and Wild Pig Hunter.
    Numbers two and one would be my Bark River JBA Prototype, and my TOPS Armageddon which is my absolute favorite knife.
    Lots of runners up. Mostly TOPS knives, and a handmade Iron Mistress Bowie.

    Dont discount a "redneck in a shed" I know of a couple of y'all that are doing great work ! Great handle work on that Ontario ! Wish I still had my Trail Master with the Carbon V blade. It "disappeared" after I had a housefire. LOL when you brought out that Buck. Never had a Benchmade fixed blade but it looks like a beaut ! I remember it from your comparison with the Buck.

    A favorite big blade after some work is the Condor Plan A Bowie. Been trying the get either the 7” or 9” WT Puzon Bowie. I’ve grown partial to the balance of finger choil’d blades....

    Those are all great knives and although I don't currently own any them, I do want to get the ESEE for sure (it's been on my wishlist for far too long...lol). Anyway, thanks very much for sharing and Cheers!

    Hey man.. I know you’ve talked about your sharpening process but would you consider making a video of how you sharpen? If my memory serves me, you’re using pretty modest tools to sharpen, yet you have some of the sharpest knives I’ve seen on RUclips. It would be amazing to see just how you do that with a work sharp field sharpener and strop. Thanks.

    Jealous of your Benchmade, I waited to long. The Trail Master has been my go to big blade since the late 80’s. Upgraded to the 01 version some 8-10 years ago. Never tried the big Esee. The Longhorn Bowie has impressed me for its size. My coating and edge damaged quickly (rolled). I’m on about the 8th outing since I stripped, polished, patina’d, sharpened the spine and had a kydex sheath made for it. I had to increase the edge angle a bit and slightly convex it to get it to hold up...

      My Favorites keep getting smaller...My Bark River Clip Point has been my favorite the last few years.

      Your longhorn has had edge problems?

    • @dlrmon1
      @dlrmon1 Год назад +1

      I have the latest version and yes the edge damaged badly right out of the box. I would guess it was apx. 15 degrees per side. It started holding up after a few sharpening’s and roughly 17 degrees per side.

    Nothing wrong with a shed-neck some of my best times involved beers knives and a tin shed. The shed was so small we’d move the dirt bikes out to have room to stand. When my mother would yell what are you boys doin out there ? We’re fixin motorcycles amazing how she never asked why the bikes were in the yard. Good time back before cellphones the only video games were Atari. Fun usually involved doing something stupid on a dare. You do have a hair on your ass is how it usually started. Lol off topic but the redneck in the shed lol
