I was using nuoc mam but the prahok sauce it contains: fermented fish, garlic, lime juice, palm sugar, fish sauce, and any green herbs you like to use such as cilantro, saw tooth cilantro, basil and etc
If you google Turk Prahok it will show you the recipe on how to make it but to answer your question it’s similar to nuoc mam but we use fermented fish and lemon grass with all the other ingredients used to make nuoc mam
Usually permits are free and you can get one at any forest Ranger station and it will have all the rules and regulations on there such as how much you are allowed to harvest in a day and where you can harvest
@ if you never been mushroom hunting before i would recommend you go with someone who has been hunting for mushrooms so they can show you what kind of mushrooms you can pick and what mushrooms to stay away from
Hello and thank you for visiting the channel! How high of an elevation are you going up? They are usually around 1500 and up but these pines are around 2500 at the forest I go to
Khmer sauce is usually the same sauce as Vietnamese sauce in a sense but it all depends what we are cooking which can change the sauce. For example if we were having just steak and rice we would use a sauce call Turk Prahok which consist of fermented fish and all the other ingredients you would use in your typical salad roll sauce. Sorry if it’s confusing, maybe if I have time I can make a video on different sauces we use lol
@@washingtonlife Sal you're just confusing your views more buddy. The difference between Khmer sauce and Vietnamese sauce is only adding lemongrass/tamarind into the sauce. Pretty much the Vietnamese Sauce is called Nước Mắm. The difference between in the Khmer sauce and the Vietnamese sauce is that Cambodian sauce add lemongrass/tamarind. Overall, their pretty much an identical sauce and please stop confusing people. The sauce for steak is pretty much the same but we just switch the garlic for other herbs and etc.

@@washingtonlife i am usually looking while i deer hunt in the coast range in the tillamook national forest.
@ a lot of deer hunters are able to find more mushrooms than mushroom hunters because they usually go to places that no one really goes too.
@@washingtonlife unfortunately thats not the case for me!
They are all over the forest at the right elevation
p.s. What is Khmer Sauce ??
pretty much fish sauce mixed with chop up garlic with spicy peppers and mix with sugar and lemon/lime juice.
