What a beautiful place to live with all that space and greenery. Love that porch. Have you considered a pond? That would bring another aspect and more wildlife. Amazing place.
You two have done so much this year, thank you for sharing so generously! Re: leaning into the restriction of your short growing season, I highly recommend low-tech season extension. It's almost unbelievable what you can harvest from a very basic, unheated covered structure pretty much all winter and into spring in zone 4. And the early spring flowers grown alongside your veggies is the cherry on top. Johnny's Seeds has a lot of info online to get folks started. I had a great season this year but the best moments came long after the snow flew when I was cozied up in the polytunnel harvesting leafy greens and tender roots on a sunny winter day. Two bonuses: winter greens are the best tasting greens you'll ever eat & your tunnel can do double-duty for cukes and tomatoes in the summer. Season extension is all about letting go of limiting beliefs :)
To watch your garden through the seasons I look forward to seeing all the beautiful colors that I can put in my garden. I have been trying to put more colors to the front of my garden yard. Unfortunately, I have a huge tree that has so many branches that really get in my way to plant.Though I love this old huge tree I am having to be with an axe and shovel trying to work through these massive branches. I hope I can make it more beautiful this year. At least I have been able to watch my roses grow and me so much colors and lovely scents. Thank you for sharing on this winter season.
Hi! Great video recapping all the beautiful months in your lovely garden. Also a gardener in VT! If you haven't already I would recommend Rocky Dale (nursery) in Bristol next season. Its small but they have a beautiful landscaped garden to walk through behind the main nursery, unique varieties, and its right outside of Bristol which is a super cute town. Also, Von Trapp gardens in Waitsfield gets pretty spectacular too! Excited to see your 2025 videos!!

gorgeous inspiration thank you - going to add some bulbs for early joy! also side note: these warm autumn colors of your apron and sweater look stunning on you!! definitely your palette ❤
I love this video - the look back through the garden months! I also so enjoyed your description... it was like listening to someone describe the fantastic feast they had just experienced! I look forward to hearing you talk about your 2025 plans! Happy New Year to you both.
Just found your channel and it’s exactly what I need3 to get through winter! We are in the UK and it’s been the wettest year ever! As soon as something would flower it would get destroyed! And we had more heatwaves than ever so things would frazzle! Hardest ever gardening year here x
Hello Anna and Burt. Found your channel this last late summer. You have a beautiful garden. I've been flower gardening for the last 30 years but have so enjoyed finding inspiration from warchibg your channel. Thank you.
Wonderful garden year ❤. You and your home are so beautiful ❤ you remind me of young christie brinkley ❤. Happy new year! Cant wait to watch your 2025 garden unfold ❤ linda in canada
Cool to hear your reflections, and I've enjoyed following your process. This year has been my first as an ambitious gardener, and I've mainly been focused on growing vegetables. I'm staring slow in terms of flowers - some calendula etc. I've turned a fairly large area into a growing area, which formerly was just a big, grassy area. I've learned a lot, but it has been a rather frustrating experience, since so much have been just absolutely decimated by slugs. I was probably too ambitious in terms of scope, and I have reason to believe this year will be better, but man, if its a repeat, I will seriously consider bailing on the project, which would be very dissapointing. Looking forward to further inspiration from you, Anna :) Happy new year.
Hi Anna, Burt and Georgie! Happy 2025! Its been great watching you this past year. Such a beautiful happy place. I love your videos and would love it if you could list the names of the individual plants you use. I am interested in finding a couple to add to my yard. Hoping to see more foxgloves and ferns in my shade area. Have you every considered any English ivy? I'm on the fence about putting it in.( I'm afraid of it taking over.) Can't wait to see what transpires in both our gardens next year. Thank you for your great videos!🤗❤
You mentioned river rocks under your soil. Did you have to lay soil over your whole property, and if so, how did you do that (building compost and spreading over the rock/clay, and/or buying soil and spreading over the rock)? I'm dealing with a half-acre of pretty much clay soil and I'm tempted to just use raised beds for a lot of the yard. Thanks for your consideration in responding!
I had a winding path put in this fall and was wondering if I should place a similar row of plants on both sides or should I sporadically place plants throughout both sides? I couldn’t load a photo
Damn, girl, you are polished like no celebrity ever was! No, not girl, Woman! You are everything the universe ever intended a Woman to be. Thank you so much for existing! We all love you! Looking forward to a whole new year. 💙
Interesting. I live in the Cotswolds in England and have a similar type of garden, most in a herbaceous border. The upkeep is too much. I just turned 75 and I do it all alone. I had a girlfriend but I got rid of her. The border is 200 feet long and 14 feet deep. Most of the work is in deadheading. Time to cut down. I don't find too many Americans who are interested in this type of garden due to the high maintainance.
Happy New Year to you too! We don't have a PO Box yet, but that might be something we get in the Spring. I'll definitely let you know in a video if that changes. Thanks for thinking of us, though!
Wow very nice video so nice garden ❤❤❤❤ so lovely ❤️❤️❤️❤️
We added more flowers and fruit trees. We also had much better vegetable yields. We are hopping 2025 will be another great gardening year!
That's fantastic! So much to look forward to in the new year!
