Love these techniques. So glad you showed the sprays using same stencil but different mediums. It was so easy to see how different they all are. Great tutorial. Thanks!!
I used Dylusions Ink sprays and stencils on my gelli plate several years ago, and it turned out so beautiful that I framed a few of the prints. I brayered liquid medium on the plate (since it didn't show the brayer marks as much as it would using gel medium), sprayed the inks on, then put the stencil on top and pulled a print. The ghost prints were the ones that looked the best. I used Bristol multi-media paper because it's so smooth and holds up well with liquids. I love the ones you did with the paper towels, and I'm anxious to try that! TFS!
LOVE this!! Truthfully, I don't use my gelli plate that often because I get lazy to pull out all my acrylic paints. But spray inks, on the other hand, are easier for me to access since I use them more often. I can't wait to try this!!
This was FANTASTIC! Thank you so much for sharing this video - I never would've known or tried to use different gel mediums on my gelli plate. Now I can't wait to try this - Very inspiring!!
Wow! Absolutely beautiful techniques! I especially love the pastel look using gesso! Whoever thought of this is a creative genius. Time to dust off my Gelli plates! TFS! Hugs, Vina
New subscriber here - I recently bought my first Gelli plate, and have been binge-watching tutorials. This is one of THE most innovative I’ve come across, and now I’m so excited to get started on creating!
I did this using gesso’ed paper but no stencils, I always go for my first layer to be a solid layer & I wanted to see what would happen & both gesso’ed & mom both were awesome but in 2 entirely different ways. The non gesso’ed page gave me exactly what I laid it down on but the gesso’ed page was so whimsical in how the inks moved across the paper, I couldn’t decide which I loved more!! Thanks for this amazing tip!! It’s a shame we can’t attach pics to these comments so I could show you what I mean 😞
Thank you for sharing your tips and tricks. I learned a lot. One word of advice, when showing the product please hold it for a few minutes longer. It's hard to get a screenshot. Happy Crafting
I LOVE IT! Can't wait to try! just purchased a Gelli Plate for the first time today, looking forward to making many memories with my newest and latest creative art tool! Thank you so much Gelli Arts!
I am so far behind in the gelli arts world but this video was very inspiring and Great for me to see especially as a beginner! Thank you. I'm also subscribed to Birgit, amazing artist!
awesome, thank you. I'm still needing at least 20 smallish spray bottles and haven't found a good local source yet. The problem with ordering them online is... if they don't spray very well then you're out of luck because the shipping cost to return them is about the same price as keeping them. So far, locally the cheapest price I've found is a dollar a bottle and I resent paying that much for empty spray bottles.
Thanks for another great video! I'm going to try this (I have used ink stamp pads before I learnt that I wasn't supposed to - hahaha - didn't damage the plate at all).
In using gel medium as the FIRST layer followed by Dylusions inks, does it seal that layer so when it dries any other wet media used won't disturb the base layer [reactivate the inks]?
Really liked this video, no time wasted with self indulgent small talk, just straight in there with the stuff we want to see! Tfs
Birgit, I never tire of watching your various Gelli techniques. Thank you.
ME NEITHER

Lovely! A little confused....isn't gel medium also considered a glue? So, doesn't it stick to the gelli plate?

Did the paper towel pieces come off the plate easily or did it stick to the matte medium ?

I have not tried but makes sense. You should just try :)
