- Updating the Dell BIOS using a FAT32 Formatted USB Flash Drive from within the BIOS Boot Menu. This is useful if you don't already have an OS on your Dell or are running a different OS such as Linux which can't run the BIOS Update because it is an exe file. I demonstrate creating the USB both with Windows 10 and Ubuntu. Note this feature is only available for newer Dell Hardware with a SMBIOS Version of 3.0 or higher manufactured in Late 2015 or afterwards.

If you have an older Dell with a SMBIOS of 2.5-2.9 you should be able to create FreeDOS Bootable USB and use that to update the BIOS:

*What would you do if u had already did a factory reset and ur usb got destroyed and u only have 1 dell windows 10 pc and that was the only pc in ur house and u don’t have any friends to barrow a usb or pc from ?? That’s what I’m going through any help???*
Hi, what capture card are you using, i'm trying to capture 7090MT and latitued laptops' BIOS video for my shop, but whatever capture cards i used they didnt work. can you help me out thx
I use a Startech USB3HDCAP. The capture software that came with it has got a lot better in recent times but I still tend to use Debut video capture with it. In Debut the USB3HDCAP displays as a webcam there opposed to a capture device but otherwise works as expected.
@@philipyip1988 thx i fix by closing laptop's cover, now it works
Don't we need to download in or rename the bios file in .rcv format.

Philip at 8.11 you select something but this is not in my computer
So what is happening there,,
What model is your computer? The ability to flash the UEFI BIOS this was added to models manufactured in late 2016 or later. If your model is older, it may not have this menu (you need to use FreeDos instead).
@@philipyip1988 i have i3 core 10 generation

Hello sir
I simply run the bios update program as admin & it updated after a reboot.
The video was more geared towards those who are running Linux which can't run Windows Applications although some work is being done for the BIOS to automatically update within Linux also.
@@philipyip1988 Okay @PhilipYip, one thing I know are you using dual boot on Optiplex 7050? I notoced Ubuntu along with windows boot manager @4:43.
If yes, then please make a video on this also on how to dual boot Windows 10 & ubuntu.
Regards
@@haris_yt69 I've not set up a dual boot, that is from a previous Ubuntu install when the MOK was added (I haven't deleted the old Boot Entry). You can install Ubuntu alongside Windows during the Ubuntu installation but I'm not sure on what the default changes to the discs are (i.e. how much Windows is shrank to fit a Ubuntu partition). I normally install the OS separately.
