Glad everyone is ok! 🙏🏻 My last trip to the Philippines 🇵🇭 I caught the flu and was terribly sick during my 2 week stay. My Filipina fiancee (now wife) took great care of me, fed me soups, fruits, and teas 🙏🏻❤️
Thank you so much! It's never nice getting sick especially on holiday. You found a good one my friend. Jane always does the same to us. Have a great day 😊
I can't wait to see you guys back with full energy. Love from 🇮🇳. Get well soon Isabella. Adam you set a good example of how to keep calm and strong at the time of need.
@@ignatious0711 thank you so much. Being back at home makes it easier now. We will be back vlogging this week. Have a great day 😊
I had migraines and acid reflux I gave up all prosessed food and I am so well now.
Glad you all are on the mend and pray you will be back to 100% health soon. Continue to rest-up and take care of each other. Look forward to your next videos. Stay safe and healthy. God Bless.
Pacific Cross and/or GeoBlue -- GeoBlue does cover pre-existing conditions.
Glad you guys are okay ... Get ahold of Michael Onstad (he's an Insurance agent there in the PI)
BTW - Love the way your backyard is looking .. great job.
Hi Adam- we were on vacation in Cebu and all around the Philippines last month. We stayed in Solea Resort Mactan and I think the weather was much more humid and warm than last year. On the way home to the US, my daughter also got sick almost fainting when we arrived in San Francisco layover. I had to put her on a wheelchair. When she was getting really sick, I flagged the first airport police we saw. They called the airport EMT and diagnosed that she might be dehydrated. She was given a fructose sodium citrate drink. Hours later my daughter recovered. We think she didn’t drank enough water in the Philippines.
Nice introduction my friend ❤️❤️❤️glad your family are ok always be careful- from California
Hi Jane and Adam, I saw your recent videos and really pray that you folks feel better soon-Food poisonings is terrible. I'm coming to the Philippines in September and that is always in the back of my mind.
Oh my! Be careful guys take care, good job you're all ok now, scary things happens sometimes but the good thing is you all well.
Nice to see jane smiling🥰.. good vibes for everyone…
🤗
What a bummer! Glad that you are all home, safe, and feeling better.
The love and care you all have for each other is so beautiful to see, Adam. I am just sorry that you all had to go through the ordeal of illness on what was supposed to be a peaceful trip, but as you eluded to, you will all remember this trip to Cebu. God bless and keep you all!❤
Thank you so much. These things can happen and otherwise we had a great time. Life can throw challenges at us. Have a great day 😊
Thanks God, you arrived safe and sound ❤❤❤
Health is wealth❤ Health insurance/ cover is a must. When I was in Australia, the govt looked for it. It's a top priority to have one, even in most other countries. God bless, my friend. Have extra care.
that´s the power off mum´s in emergency stay save go healthy and enjoy your life nice greetings from Austria
Welcome back Adam, Jane and Isabella.
Thank you for uploading this video.
I hope Jane is feeling better now. Take care jane❤❤.
Greetings from Malaysia 🇲🇾
That's rough. Happy to hear you made it home. We just had lunch at SM Seaside. 😖😖 Hope everyone is fine now.
I'm glad to hear you are all well now, not a nice experience. Although you don't want to name where you think you got ill, I think you should email the SM mall and inform them of that particular establishment so they can do some checks. Also I think health Insurance is a must especially as a foreigner. Stay safe.
Another beautiful video love how you guys have done your Garden very beautiful mate.Take care guys.❤❤❤. I know very well about insurance They wanted a $5,000:00 plus a year and we couldn’t claim in the first 1 year only after. Pre-existing not covered till after 1 year what a joke just public waiting list.
I hope she feeling better now.
Try Paramount ?
Greetings from a Belgian living in Polomolok, South Cotabato
We have a dedicated steamer where the water can be topped up via a receptable at it's side. We used this to sterilize outside food that can be warmed (steam for about 15 minutes).
Too bad illness spoiled the last days of your vacation. I'm so glad the crossing went smoothly! Imagine having to go through the weather conditions you had on the way down while you are already sick. That would have been hell!
Ikaw amping jane and Isabella. I also had a little food poisoning when I was last in the Philippines 🇵🇭
Oh my it's such a horrible experience for all of you. It's actually hard to watch, I could see the suffering Jane and Isabella went through. And you too Adam, as a husband and father it's awful when you can't do any more for our loved ones. Food poisoning is a nightmare, I have had it twice in the Philippines; once from water ( my own stupid fault ) and once from McDonalds of all things, but both times were horrendous. Good luck all of you, hope you're ok now
Hi there. My husband is Dutch and is very safe when it comes to health insurance, it’s compulsory in the Netherlands. We are living now in the Philippines the first step was getting the health insurance. We got the HMO In Life insurance (European style) try to research for it.
I watched a utube video by”Gio in the Philippines “ about a year ago and he interviewed a guy named Micheal that specializes in expat insurance and global plans.
The white fkesh inside the dragon fruit is more healthier than red flesh, due to more sugar content, but its so sweet, also it makes urine light red too
I've been to the Philippines many times, I always bring proper meds here from the U.S.A. on advise from my Doctor. Antibiotics, and such. I have gone through stomach problems a few times with the food there. Drank only Bottled water. I hope you are all feeling better.💓💓
All good advice, thank you! We need to prepare more medications etc when we next travel and stick to bottle water. Have a good day 😊
Needs rest, lots of fluids, she can eat only no dairy products, toast, no butter. Lots of fluids, rest
Hope you get better❤ soon
Thank you 😊
Olá amigos, a melhor coisa da vida é é a saúde, quando agente não está bem, tudo fica sem graça, mas ainda bem que agora vocês estão bem, que Deus abençoe a todos,
Baking soda is also good for acid problem.
It’s not not bad to be cautious in eating or choosy just make sure that the food and drinks fluid soups you intake is at utmost safely processed or cooked or made
Always take with you Erceflora when travelling, for food poisoning/upset stomach
More likely the ice cream. It’s old and not replaced often. As a rule of thumb when we go home to Bohol, we avoid eating too much, and don’t drink that water from the faucet or use the ice. For additional health insurance coverage, consider buying an HMO plan here, there are so many kinds and options to choose from. Also, consider travelers insurance as it will cover you while you are away from home.
Glad you are all alright. I'm very surprised to learn you don't have health insurance. Other expats highly advise to have it.
We have been exploring health insurance in the Philippines and is no easy feat. Pacific Cross, Pru Life, or AXA worth looking into for major hospitalisations and you can add HMO like benefits for general things. Many of those who can comfortably afford health insurance seem to go with 2 plans sometimes from different companies. We are choosing to go for Maxicare Gold for general coverage as is a cheaper option for us (has smaller coverage but covers alot for general everyday health) with intention of adding another individualised care plan later to fully cover major stuff if happens.
The younger the better, as you grow old, Philippines is very hesitant to enroll you, in tbe Health Care, better to have senior PhilHealth, check Barangay benefits and privileges, be an advocate to your Health. Keep an eye on line Philippine Dept. Of Health for updates. Get it now before you get old. Get the best. Health is Wealth.
Thank you my friend. We need to look fully into what's best but i like your thinking! We did briefly look before but always knew local doctors are good however sickness can and does happen. We need to make sure we are all covered in case of something serious but also for minor things too. Have a great day 😊
calebbromley9648 Here in the Philippines you can't find insurance once you are 70 years old.
@@AdamandJanesLifestyle Don't forget that here in the Philippines you cannot find insurance once you turn 70 years old. I just pray if I get sick I can make it back to Australia by plane where there is universal health care. No wonder so many people die all around me every year. The local hospitals don't even have snake venom saying ''out of stock''.
@@1967hashem snake venom isn't available as it's not been developed fully yet. All they have is a general anti-venom which isn't that effective.
Adam I can't imagine how freaked out you were. First Miss Jane then Isabella. Glad they're both doing better. Yes I agree insurance is the way to go. Best of luck with that thou.
Medical insurance is a must no matter what it costs it has to be
I'm glad you are all recovering. Hopefully you will have a great time and get some medical answers on your next trip to Cebu. 2025 will be a banner year!
Medical insurance make sure the cover includes the cost of all drug tablets medication & for nurses/doctors & overnight room accomodation private in St.Lukes in Manila for series conditions.
Hey guys, good to see that everyone recovered. A great and effective remedy for nausea and dizziness is scratching and sniffing a lime (skin) or crumpling and sniffing lime leaves. My grandmother taught me about that and I can definitely attest to their effectiveness. I used to get really bad car sickness, I would apply either remedy and it would instantly rid me of the symptoms. Try it next time you experience nausea and dizziness.
There is by country insurance but my suggestion is try Citibank .if they covered health insurance.but I think there is it is worldwide bank
I think I would have taken her to the hospital, she needed IV hydration....but totally understand wanting to just get home. This is the scary part of living anywhere really, healthcare when you really need it. In the US my filipina wife and I have been saved from huge healthcare bills with insurance..spending lifetimes of money on medical care....our insurance has always been worth it. Thanks for sharing, food borne illnesses have gotten me a few times, not fun!
Good morning Adam and Jane. We are the subscribers from USA we watch your RUclips everyday. By the way you talking about Healthcare Insurance. We Recommend
SAFETY WINGS HEALTHCARE INSURANCE. Hope this hepl you guys. Have a good and thankful Tuesday. God bless ❤❤❤
@@cecille77 Depends on your age and pre existing dieases, the younger the better. Use it for comprehensive exam yearly for preventative like Colonoscopy, Mammogram, Bone Density test, Get vaccines updates everything. People live longer due to vaccines, if you don’t know if you have immunity, get the blood titer , per MD’s request. Health is wealth. Don’t ignore it, exercise.
Also, get the quantiferon blood test for Tuberculosis, yearly Philippines has a lot of cases, still a respiratory killer, it spread to vital organ. There’s a treatment for this, if it caught early.
Its wise to have health and accident insurance and its not too expensive if its family coverage.
Hi Adam & Jane. I'm glad Isabella & Jane are now ok. My husband & I have been following your vlogs. You might want to consider the comprehensive health solutions of AXA for your family's health protection needs. We have solutions which covers while you are in the Philippines and even abroad. You may dm me to discuss it with you.
Keep safe and God bless your family
Thank God everyone now are fine, right?🙏🙏🙏
Thank you my friend but no. Jane is still really sick I'm afraid. We will get tests asap.
That must have so hard to get through. So sorry you guys had to experience something that must have been traumatizing. I hope everyone has recovered. Also, might Jane's stomach and migraine issues be connected to anxiety perhaps? I went through about 3 years struggling with anxiety and they manifested as stomach issues, migraines, and nausea. I hope you guys get to the root of it and enjoy the beautiful life you've built there.
Adam please tell Jane to get Omeprazole tablets for her stomach acid.
Good luck.
Getting sick and recovoring fm it is actually a natural way of boosting our immune system.Of course if its a severe case then the illness has to be treated following the proper medical care!
Sorry to see you all so sick and glad you are all on the mend. Two words; Cayenne Pepper for ulcers and acid reflux. Miraculous for the heart, strokes and a host of other ailments.
I was in cebu a couple years ago and also got food poisoning from ice
Theres not much to worry about the food from reputable resto but tap water can be dangerous. Water source for tap water maybe safe but the pipes it runs through is questionable so just stay away from tap water always bring along bottled water.
We don't have an NHS like what you have in England; the next best things is to have an insurance coverage. Doctors' fees here could cost an arm and a leg. I had that when I was charged Php100K by the surgeon alone in 2018. Good thing I had an extended health insurance civerage when I retired.
🙏
Here are the lists of Health Insurance here in the Philippines.
Maxicare, Intellicare, KAISER, Insular Life, Medi Card, Pacific Cross, AXA, Cocolife, ValuCare, EastWest Healthcare, AETNA
Philhealth too
Feel better soon.
@chesca80805 This Health Insurances are good, when you don't reach 60 years old and above, or else, better have savings and PhilHealth for discount only, also ask the Barangay and go to the on line of PhilHealth for updates, some hospitals has Charity Care, so while you are not sick, explore the Health Insurance in the Philippines, some Barangay in Manila thru PhilHealth they will give you for medications maintenance.
i checked pacific cross £4000 each/year for myself and wife no underlining health issues our age is against us im late 60 wife late 50 .put by money for a rainy day best for us.
I had food poisoning in Boracay last week. It’s horrible. Just a thought - you mentioned Imodium to stop one of the ‘effects’ of food poisoning. I am not sure if this is a good thing as that effect (as with being sick) is the body getting rid of the poison. Not medical, just a thought.
I'm sorry that Isabella got so sick just as Jane was recovering. Hopefully both ladies are feeling better now.
If travelling outside the country then travel insurance is normally a requirement and easy to arrange with many choices available.
I hope you are all ok now..
No judgement, but seeing how you are so careful planners about everything you do I am surprised that you did not look into health insurance until now.
Maybe its because as british citizen you never had to worry about that while in the UK ?
Anyway, I am not concerned about that for now, but I heard a lot of people saying lots of good things about Pacific Cross, with a little extra advice, find a good contact person with them and deal with him/her directly. It will speed up the follow-up on every case.
This was my 2 cents...
Do your due diligence and I am sure you will make the right choice
Actually pacific cross have a very bad reputation on social media. I have been looking for health insurance for myself and British husband. We've come here to retire in Cebu, we've arrived in December last year and just looking into insurance. I have compared most (or maybe all) of the insurance company and foundd that Pacific cross has the most comprehensive. Health coverage but was worried about the social media reviews. So I went to the branch office here in Cebu and talk to an executive adviser and my worries are now set corrected. We are getting a semi - private 1.5M coverage. Fingers crossed they do perform.
🙏🙏🙏
I got food poisoned here in the US after eating burger king. My husband did not. Like you said, just get hydrated.
Sorry to hear that happened to you. It's very horrible when food poisoning strikes. Hydration is the best thing! Have a great evening 😊
Hi,
I'm from England and much encourage on your journey in the Philippines. My husband and I are planning to do the same. However, I have my reservation as I am so used in England that I am afraid what's in store for us in Philippines. Is there any advice from you to us? Thank you.
You can do it! Everyone is different but if you have a positive outlook on life then it's very easy 😊
@@AdamandJanesLifestyle😊many thanks
Have Jane get check and undergo Esophagogastroduondenoscopy or EGD that will determine if you have peptic ulcer in your stomach, I had it done multiple times. I agree you really need a medical insurance, my cousin had open heart surgery and it costed 2million pesos. Check Blue Cross Blue Shield, this is worldwide insurance
I just recently retired in Philippines and have FEHB BC/BS, hopefully it will suffice when a medical issue arises.
this is kinda sad...family having good times but this happen.....
It's one of those things. We are just truly grateful for the positive experience and memories made. Have a great day 😊
food poisoning must be really bad over there..
Sometimes but not often.
Never been a fan of japanese food mate..,i prefer chinese food....inquire about UK pru life mate,.it's a good life insurance.
Maybe you look about this company Cigna healthcare, i am also looking about a health Insurance for my liviing in the Philippines i hope you make a update 😊 and i conatact another Company also when it´s Interesting i update you nice greetings
Hello Jane, Adam and Isabella, very glad that you all recovered.
Listening to Jane describing her symptoms I would sugest checking Jane's thyroid functions
and also testing for Helicobacter pylori.
Thank you for your videos, very enjoable.
Best wishes from East Sussex xx
jane needs OMEPRAZOLE acid reducer>treats frequent heartburn
She has had it but it's not good if you have a peptic ulcer. Frequent use can actually cause them.
How old is Jane? It might be early menopausal symptoms..
It's really not but thank you my friend. We have tests this week and doctor next week to work out the next steps.
Have you tried phil health?
Something we will also look into. Thank you.
Eat from Jane kitchen only
Maybe it's food poisoning on Jane. She mentioned her food was undercooked last vlog. Isabella maybe stomach flu made her fatigue. Both illness from contaminated tap water. Need better restaurant hygiene.
eat more healthier foods cut on sweets
If only it was that simple... Jane has an extremely good diet! This is something much harder my friend.
Tough few days… here’s to a good recovery 👏🏻👏🏻
I can't believe yall retired with no type of medical insurance. I think thats too much of a gamble. I watched another vlogger that just passed away a month ago named Juells, he was plagued with health issues for the last year and it looks like he went through it all. I would think you and Jane are more sensible to not have something that important, especially now after this.
Did you not listen to what we said in the video my friend? We explained that we have sufficient savings put aside specifically for health. We are however looking at insurance for when we travel and Isabella is in Cebu. We wouldn't retire without sufficient savings in the first place.
@adam and jane, whenever you suspect the you have been food poisoned or anything that would drain your energy and send you over to the toilet, the best solution is to eat Washington apples or drink apple juice and have yourself re hydrated. hth
Thanks for your advice! We will definitely keep it in mind. Have a great day 😊
Are you sure it's not dengue? Ormoc is currently in a state of calamity due to a sharp increase of cases of dengue recently. It can take 3 to 14 days to show symptoms.
It wouldn't be dengue as we were in Cebu. It's definitely food poisoning. It was sudden and all of us affected.
Hope someone from DOH watch this, and investigate your hotel stay in. Maybe not only you is the victim, maybe some also but no complain. madamme pangita ug paagi mk reklamo k, kay way lain man mo gi ka unan. Basin daghan ma biktima ning kusinero or mga bata kalooy basin mamatay simbako. Dapat ni sila mapulihan kay mga buangon ni sila. Thank you for your concern. The hotel were great and we are 100% sure it was not from the hotel but from ice in SM Mall. The hotel were very careful and also made sure they not responsible. We cannot fault them at all. They were very good. There were no other reports of food poisoning at the hotel while we were there. Have a great day my friend 😊
Adam so sorry about your misfortune I heard Rifaximin,,Rifamycin, or Aemcole can Help with that sickness! I hope you all great Health get Well soon My Friends!!
