John - Glory Road: 1. Let there be light - 2 Feb 2025

Today we begin a new series in the gospel according to John, called “The Road To Glory.”
As we grow older, we begin to lose some of our abilities. From middle age, our eyesight deteriorates and we need to wear glasses. Some, because of disease or injury, lose their sight altogether. People who cannot see - even those born blind - can and do learn to live with their disability. But would anyone deliberately choose to be blind?
In this talk, Hayden Smith (Senior Minister) takes us through the account of Jesus healing a man born blind in John 9. This powerful story contrasts physical blindness with spiritual blindness. The Pharisees, though sighted, refuse to see the truth of Jesus, while the healed man comes to recognise him. Hayden challenges us to humbly admit that we need Jesus’ help to see him as he truly is.
