@paintingpanzers I bought the starter set at Warlord's Open Day. I was going to assemble and paint the Fallschimjager's first, but you have inspired me to prioritise the Americans. I am working on an huge "Battle of the Bulge Mega Project", and I really need to get some US forces up and running.
Been waiting for this one! My box set waiting to be painted! Another brilliant video that breaks the process down into clear, easy steps. Great outcome - the figure looks awesome. Don’t sell yourself short (comment re so called ‘professional’ painters. You’re up there but strike perfect balance between practicality/speed & details/ layering etc. my only question would be over the boots where think brown leather rather than black? Thanks as always.
Thank you so much, your feedback is very kind and it means a lot 🤩 He certainly turned out pretty good 🙌 I appreciate the comment about being a 'professional', I guess it's just one of those things that I don't rate my work as high as some of the amazing compliments I've received in the past ... not to mention the fact I have no idea of the correct painting terms with most things I do 🤣 Yeah, I think you're spot on ... they should be brown! I think the reference photo I used for the boots were dark brown and I mistook that for black. Great spot haha.
Hey brother, I paint my minis the way you’ve been teaching and they turn out just fine. So who would you consider to be professionals? I think you’re great mate…….cheers
Yeah, the black boots were meant to be dark brown ... I got my info wrong on that one! Brown trousers were an early War US uniform, they switched to green when adopting the M43 uniform. I do acknowledge that some brown were still in service up until the end of the war due to logistic issues. Brown on Brown doesn't look good on the tabletop. Hence, the green (m43). The canteen should be black but due to its size I painted it silver to make it pop more on the tabletop. I hope this clears up a few things!
The canteen is truly silver metal, but that little top cap is black. The boots could be the cold weather rubber boots, which were black. 😊 @paintingpanzers

Good! I have been needing some help on painting the US greatcoat.
Glad I could help! 🤩🤩
Confused. What's up with black boots? They were brown with khaki puttees! Pants were a brown color. The cap of the canteen is black plastic ... .
