I’m gonna need another 10 years
This is how my band director taught me to wrap audio cables in marching band in high school and I still wrap them like this to this day
This works!!! All my cables, air hoses, and heavy extension cords are now tidy, tangle free, and easy to deploy!!
Over-under, as a stagehand this is pretty much standard for most performances, but sometimes over under can get incredibly tangled in cases. We usually E-Tape the cables as well so they don’t get tangled in the case, but there’s also little velcro cable ties I use for my side hustle doing lighting design.
I'm a mobile DJ. Yes, we use Velcro straps to secure properly wrapped cables.
The Velcro straps are also useful to have a clean, tight show. We secure cables to the speaker stands, which essentially hides the cables so that they aren't hanging willy nilly. This is also better for the cable so the weight is not just hanging putting wear and tear on the speaker port, and the cable end itself.

This is the dumbest struggle known to mankind.
Cables have a natural path they want to follow which is helpful. So if you ever see your pal try to kink it around their elbow- automatic sack tap.

Off topic question related to the custom D-strings. On the website I can order 0.22 and 0.24 gauge. Will there be a 0.23 gauge in the future? That would be ideal for me! 🙏

I know a much better way. Hold it in your hand and wrap it under your elbow then back over your hand that's holding the end and open it to grab the other part you're bringing around and repeat
