The past week went to a few thrift stores in my local area. I went looking for vintage film cameras. I ended up finding an Olympus Stylus Epic MJU II for $8. Finding this type of deal is a challenge as I rarely come by them in the thrift store. I guess I was just lucky. In the video I also end up shooting a roll of Kodak Portra 160 in Toronto. If you actually read all this, thank you! And you should think about hitting that subscribe button. please. Oh also follow me on instagram where I sometimes post my 35mm film photos along with my digital photos. Also let me know if you want to see more trip to the thrift type videos :)

Whats your best thrift find? Comment and let me know!!
I got a Leica IIIf with Summicron 50mm f2 for $29 in charity shop a few years ago. Paid $180 to have it CLA'd, but its still worth 2-3x what I have invested.
Dude that's a crazy find!!
I really had to hold back my enthusiasm when I bought it. I didn't want them to reconsider the price.
Yashica T5D $4
Daniel Fjäll yooo I'm hoping to thrift one of those soon!!! Haha, wish me luck...
I wish I had thrift stores that had great finds
xd oneohfive thought i was the only one
That’s dope! I was able to pick up one for 4.99! A few weeks back with original box receipt and paperwork!
Anthony Garcia Broo...nice find man!!
4:27 That face when you find the Mju!! 👌👌👌
😂 that was my re-enactment face too, my real reaction was even better
Do the thrift stores you visited in this video test the cameras to make sure they work? Just wondering cause I wanna make a trip to the same stores lol
should copped that canon sure shot!
Oh, BTW, your photos look great! Such an amazingly capable little camera.
+TheAgeOfAnalog thanks so much man! Yeah it's definitely my favorite camera, because of the size/weight and the sharpness of the lens it's perfect to just shove in a pocket. It's always with me.
Yesterday, I found a MJU I for $4 at goodwill, and a MJU II for $40 at a camera store. Best finds so far.
How do you move the photos from off your camera to laptop ?
I send my film to a lab where they scan the negatives onto a CD for me. Thanks for watching! go check out part 2 just uploaded it :)
I found a instax mini 8 for 20 dollars
you missed out on the the Pentax Espio back in the first thrift store 1:42. it's an excellent camera with good optics. it could also be set to take time exposure photos (night photography).
exactly what I thought!
more vid like this bro!!🔥🔥
PART 2 is now out! Go check it out :)
Thats sick but that Pentax you left was DOOOOOPE
Yea i regret not coppin it 😑😑
A Kodak point and shoot for $1, takes awesome pictures. Also, a Polaroid Land Camera 180 (I believe) don't know if it works but it came with an awesome leather case, instruction manual from the late 60s, looks beautiful.
I had an Olympus Stylus the first one I lent out got stolen that was made in Japan ,the second was okay but not as good.
thats bloody good deal, its bloody over $100 on ebay man.
Kin TV it sounds like you're trying to fake your accent because you use the word bloody twice
My thrift stores always sell those film cameras but for like 1-5 dollars
Nice man! You are the lucky one 👏
I copped an olympus mju iii 120 for $20!
That thumbnail cam is no where near that claimed price! My parents bought me it for like 15 dollars when I was like 6 so I could take pictures
Check eBay, the market price is even higher than the price in the thumbnail now!
all the Thrift stores are gonna jack up the prices on film cameras now! You know Goodwill and Savers watch these "Thrift Store finds" videos!
whats the difference between a olympus stylus epic and an olympus stylus epic zoom 115
The olympus stylus epic has a fixed 35mm lens instead of a zoom lens
Is that in a Unique Bizarre Store? hahaha, and best thrift find = Olympus Stylus Epic 170 Deluxe! great video man
Nice find!! I went to a few different stores in the vid, a Salvation Army, Value Village and a Talize. Thanks for watching, check out the new vid too aha!
3:03 did anybody see the PS1 remote
That sure looks !Ike Toronto's downtown!
You’re crazy for not buying that sure shot supreme
It’s only $250 because of dck Head price gougers
Come on. It's not a $250 camera, now, before or hereafter. It's a somewhat better made version of the group of P-n-S snapshooters he was handling throughout the video. It's advantage is that it has an excellent feature set and a lens which us a bit better (but still no more than a basic shapshot camera lens). But for its artificial "cult" pricing on ebay, its price in reference to other similar cameras might be $25. Unless he's running a side business of flipping them to the lame and ignorant on ebay, I don't know why he'd want more than one.
My best thrift store finds are 2 iPods 2 iPads a Polaroid digital camera and a few phones
👌👌
what value village did you go to?? thats tight
it in a city near toronto
I think I paid just $5 for my Stylus Epic DLX as well. They're still out there.
Yeah olympus stylus are everywhere, people just like to make them look rare ,you can get them for less than 10$
Contax T for $10
Mario Arias jeez nice find!!
Mine is a Canon FD SLR camera, that takes a modern battery. for $14 CDN
I have no thrift stores near me
rip
Sucks that most charity shops (the UK's version of a thrift store) have caught on to the value of these cameras and usually sell them on ebay for around £10 to over £100
Aww ripp, hopefully that doesn't happen here lol!
Damn american thrifts look SO sick. The best we have in the uk are charity shops where were lucky to find at least one compact 35mm. Luckily my mum had an mju ii in the 90s that she gave me.
Ahh, at least you got a free MJU ii, they are pretty pricey now!
DEJJO ikrrr
Ugh I’m so jealous! Haha
Don't get me wrong, I have an Olympus Stylus Epic too but I'd rather shoot my Canon Sureshot Prima Z135
Oh for real? I haven't shot a sureshot yet, in what aspects do you prefer in the Sureshot?
I think that was 8MM not a super 8
You're probably right tbh
@@dejjo it’s all good bro I get them mixed up
damn all the camcorders
ikr haha
Got lucky
I subscribe to you sir. I like your video this is what I do when I go thrift shopping at Savers. I found the Olympus Stylus Epic Limited Edition (rare) in burgundy for $3.99 USD when on eBay it’s worth over $300 if one can be found.
Sun and D-970 sick find, yeah the resell for those are crazy!! Thanks for watching!
DEJJO thanks.
HI!!!!!!!!!!!!! SUBSCRIBERS HAHAHAHAHAHAH 😘😍
Buy one camera
Meh. I've alway wondered why young people so love the Olumpus Mju. I remember these when they were current models from Olympus. I thought at the time they were rather ugly, and were not great to handle. I had an Olympus XA, and much preferred the looks, and how it handled.
Yea i hear the XA’s are great! I agree the hype is blown out of proportion for the MJU II, but for $7 you can’t go wrong haha, hopefully i find an XA in the thrift next 😆
Bought a yashica t3 for 7$
That's crazy haha!
If you find a camera that you already have, leave it for another photographer man, you don't sell them.
Haha, If I have any duplicate cameras I actually do sell them locally...I’m trying to setup a website too
@@dejjo Do you have a domain yet?
My local thrift stores have $8 cameras priced at $250 !!
o shoot ripp...haha
Mine one found in a trash can.....so it's free
No way!! Haha that’s so crazy!
I found one for 6 bucks. who's paying 250?! Lemme know.
Haha put it up on ebay
Over the past two years, with the growth of all these videos about film cameras. The price of most film cameras has risen. Some thirty year old film cameras have doubled and tripled in price. That is the price of popularity.
Exactly! It's pretty crazy, olympus stylus epics were like $40 two years ago, now they are $200+
thats not a mju ii
ok
Dude!!! sooo fukking jealous
Haha this is brampton right
nooooo 😉
where is this? cause if its in toronto then i have hope
@@nez01 It's obviously Toronto. Didn't you see the CN Tower in one of his shots?
The Olympus Stylus has been hyped to death on social media, often selling right now for $150 more or less. As a camera rather than a market hyped commodity, it isn't worth any more than a dozen other $4 point-n-shoot cameras he handled, and performs worse than some of them.. So his good fortune is limited to reselling them on ebay or whatever as soon as possible before the price bubble breaks. In reality, it's a flimsy plastic piece of junk with a mediocre lens. Same thing happened after Olympus discontinued the XA. within a year, a camer selling use for $35 rose in price until dealers were buying them in lots for more than $125 with intention to resell them to Japanese collectors for nearly $200. A lot of folks paid over $150 for an XA. Then the Japanese collection craze crashed (changes in Japanese tax laws), and the US price for the XA dropped in two months to $75, leaving dealers with a lot of negative equity inventory. XAs stayed arounf $50-65 for years, and recently have been hyped up so they now clear $100+. Optically, they are worse than the Stylus, so worth almost nothing as a picture taker.
