Some of those floating passes of his seem to hang in the air forever with nothing but teammates running onto them. The opposition players must be as mesmerized as we the spectators.
He had an interview just after that Stirling game where he mentioned he hadn't had a single week off (till then) since September and was completely burnt out. And he ended his 1 week of holiday by visiting a Stirling County game and meeting the kids Absolute legend of the game
Nice video, although you’ve used the wrong clips v Ulster, the pass which put DTH in to win the 2015 semi was as good as the one v England in 2018. Also there’s a cross field kick to Seymour in 2016 which was superb too.
This is not remotely true and it is lazy analysis. Finn has not been the hot/cold player for years. He has been a consistently good to great performer. Unfortunately comments like this help perpetuate the stereotype. When Finn makes a mistake? People rush in to yell: "See, see! Inconsistent," yet? All 10s at test match level make mistakes, few if any face the same level of criticism Russell does when they make that mistake.
This is a lazy narrative. No other 10 faces the same scrutiny. If Finn isn't magical then people race to yell the silly Maverick line. Finn sometimes has quiet games and yes makes mistakes. There isn't a test match 10 in world rugby that doesn't do the exact same. The difference? The expectation level. If Owen Farrell makes an error it rarely gets much attention because the narrative dictates he is a good game manager and tactician. Yet? In head to head contests with Finn in 2018, 2019, 2021? Farrell has been the 10 struggling. Yet how many times have you heard anyone say: Owen Farrell is hit or miss?
Because you have bought into the media narrative that has always surrounded Russell: hot/cold. maverick etc etc. That Finn Russell disappeared 4-5 years ago. He is consistently good and sometimes great. Yes, he at times has average games, guess what so do all 10s that play test match rugby. The difference? Those other 10s rarely face the scrutiny Russell does. I've seen Farrell lose the plot, toss intercepts, have kicks blocked and disappear in games. Yet I have never heard anyone say he is hot or cold. I've seen Barrett not be able to kick for toffee and get dropped. Yet no one ever described him as up and down. I've seen Pollard be a total mess for Boks but nary a fan yelled inconsistent. I've even seen Sexton have a complete meltdown on the field tantamount to tossing a wobbler and his play falling to pieces. Never heard him described as you don't know what you are going to get. TBF Sexton has been best 10 in world recently but point remains: Russell is judged differently because of the narrative the media built around him.
You missed the close up when he dummied with his eyes, magical stuff!
Nop its in but there is no slow motion on russel head
The man just plays Sunday league rugby, but to utter perfection.
The kind of player that makes you love rugby

Met Finn at the Stirling County game at the weekend and he took a photo with my wee girl. She was over the moon. He's a total legend.

When it's sweet it's very sweet.
Too often it's bitter and a bit of a shitshow
@@rhymeocerous yup, I find it’s always best to focus on the negative too! You must have a great life 😂😂😂

Nice game
I'm waiting for the 12th.
Cool
What was parisse doing in that last clip 😂
So basically Rusell and Himoff are best friends and on the other hand he is enemy number 1 for England and the Saracens hahahaha.
Lionel Cronje plays the same way
Why always with the stupid drum-machine noise added to these videos? I don't get it.
Why 15 a side is superior to 7 a side.
He’s no Greg Mackey
Imhoff just needs to stick near Russell and he'll get tries.
Finn Russell is doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Capable of the best & the worst. If I were the manager of a club I would sign him in no ifs or buts.

@@joshsmith3598 I see!!! When's the last time you saw him play club rugby?? Get your facts right sunshine.😅🤣😂
So filthy it should be on the dark Web!!
Sublime or ridiculous and nothing in between. Kicks a tad too much.
For me Finn is a hit or a miss. I was disappoint by the whole of the Scotland team at the 6 nations.

As a huge Scotland fans a find the most frustrating player capable of magic but many many times so average for me

'MAGIC'??? just things an average rugby league player does then....🤣🤣🤣
And the 30 times he messed up.
Cry more, snowflake.
just let people enjoy things
What a stuoid comment
Yup, always with them negative waves Moriarty !
