Suzuki X-1 Rideout

Here is my 1980 Suzuki ZR50 X-1. I've had it from new and it's all original and unrestored. As it was such a nice day I thought I'd go for a little rideout and share the sights and sounds of a classic moped.

Had one of these around 1992/1993. Bought from a good friend. My first bike I had on the road legally. I did around 10000 miles in one year on it but never went more than 15 miles from home! YVW348X where are you now?!?!

I had one in white 1986. Freedom - total freedom. Easy to maintain and with my feeble wages at the time, so cheap to run. Used vegetable oil instead of two stroke, less smoke and ran quieter. Installed a switch to disconnect the battery when it was running so that I had bright headlights at night - perhaps due to rubbish battery but the mod worked very well. Racked up thousands of miles a year on that bike. Went to places I'd heard of but never visited. Met so many great people around Cheshire/Staffordshire/Wales. Sold it to someone who thought maintenance was for wusses, thrashed it and blew the top end out.😐

I had two of these. The second one (LGN 684Y) I put an 84cc conversion kit on it with a micron. Went like stink, made the fizzy boys cry

I had the same year and colour ZR50X1 when i was 16 (in 1987).I would love to find it and own it again.NRP 368V are you out there ??
