    I still use my D90 to this day. It never disappoints. I am never going to sell it.

      To be honest I always try to forget about the years... Like for example we still see till today fantastic photos come from old film cameras which are still too old compared to the D90.

    What beautiful scenery. Love your photos. A very inspiring video from a D90 brother. The 50mm f1.4 is a superb lens and the 85mm f1.8 is amazing. Thank you

    My favorite natue/landscape lens tor both film and D90 digital has been an original 1980s Vivitar Series One 90/2.5 macro lens with tje matched 1:1 adapter. Inredibly sharp and contrasty. With the D90, i use a Sekonic spot meter. For wide angle shots, i have a cariety of lenses from which to choose, but the Vivitar is my go to lens.

    I have just bought the same lens today, and it's been a long time coming, and a lot of personal research, so I'm happy with my decision after watching this.

      I'm glad you found it helpful.
      Believe me you won't regret it, it's a brilliant lens, although I don't use f/1.4 a lot because of taking woodland photos the most, but I love this lens.

    When I had my D90's, my favorite lens was the Tokina 12-24 f/4. On the rare occasions that I took that lens off, it was for a Sigma 20mm f/1.8. The Sigma was purchased with the intention of using it with full frame.

      Nice choice of course 😃 I love also my sigma 10-20mm lens, it's brilliant and never made me disappointed.

      I have three,
      Sigma 10-20mm Fantastic for ultra wide landscapes.
      Nikkor 50mm f1.4 which is in this video.
      And Sigma 70-300mm lens, not too sharp, not to recommend, but I come across situations sometimes where I need super zoom lens in woodland photography for example.

    50mm f1.8D needs to be stopped down. It is RAZOR sharp after f2.8 up to f8. The image rendering with this lens is, to me, really good. Maybe due to micro-contrast. At f1.8, it is not sharp but good for taking photos of colourful abstract. And i agree, the af-s 50mm f1.8G is sharper wide open at f1.8.

    • @TheMoodyPhotographer
      @TheMoodyPhotographer  3 месяца назад

      Yeah I agree that it's razor sharp @ f2.8.
      I was annoyed that I have a f1.8 lens but I couldn't use it @ f1.8 lol, I waited a couple years until I could change it.

    Sounds like you got a bad copy/condition 50mm f/1.8D. It's the sharpest fast lens I've ever had, with very consistent dependable AF. Made me sell my 50mm f/1.4G, which was too soft even stopped down no matter how I tried to focus it, so maybe I got a subpar or rough-handled used copy of that lens.

    • @TheMoodyPhotographer
      @TheMoodyPhotographer  4 месяца назад

      It seems like that, because it was really bad @f/1.8. I couldn't have that "nice sharp" photo under f/2.8.
      The opposite for F1.4G.
      F/1.4 ist not bad, but f/1.8 is sharper than f/1.4.

    I never realized how annoying it is when someone doesn't say the S over and over in lenS LOL. You just got a bad "LEN" :D, mine is tack sharp. I have a 50mm 1.4 from the 70's NOW THAT is a blurry ass LEN, but it is a beautiful kind of blur, its very cozy feeling!

      Hope you're not Falling Down over trivial mispronunciation by Syrian-born dude from Germany presenting a video in English 😝Agree on the 1.8D being plenty sharp: made me sell my 1.4G, which was way softer even stopped down.

      @@socksonfeet8125 No worries. Just reminded me of Michael Douglas going berserk in the Korean guy's shop who says cen' instead of cents. The presenter here clearly says "lenZ" for the most part though. I think he does a better job than I would at talking to a camera in general for however long this video is.

      Hi guys 😂
      What's going on here hahaha
      I really didn't recognise that I'm saying len instead of lens hahaha
      But anyway... As I know, we pronounce it as lenz ? With z at the end, or should I pronounce it as lenS? With s at the end?
      Anyway thanks a lot for watching lol 😂

      @@TheMoodyPhotographer haha, Lenz where I grew up (Australia) and I presume most other English speaking countries as well.. My point was that you said it correctly nearly every time and our socky friend shouldn't be so picky ;-P Anyway I'm glad you got a good 50mm f/1.4G lens. I wasn't so lucky with that model. And nice shots too btw. I could feel the cold!!

    What equipment is your wife using to video record you and what type of microphone are you also using. I enjoyed this video well done I have a Nikon D90 but i dont know how to take a good picture because i use manual setting and have not gotten it right so far, I only use it for family gatherings weddings, funerals, birthday celebrations and my grandchildren.

    • @TheMoodyPhotographer

      Hi dear friend, thanks a lot 🙏😊
      In this video I was using the sony zv1 for vlogging along with the Rode micro Mic, only the part at the end when my wife was recording, I forgot the rode mic and it was the mic of the sony zv1.
      It's not hard to use the manual mode, you have only to get used to it and to know how to have a proper exposure every time, just practice and always make a lot of mistakes 🤞😊
