The commenter is not in a good headspace, that's what it looks like to me. They try to downplay the passive aggressiveness with some 'lols' and 'clever banter' but it just comes off as toxic to me. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I don't see how anyone could watch any of your content and feel correct jumping to the conclusion that you're just manipulating your audience for views. You literally spend so much time giving away amazing knowledge for free!
    Thanks for that, btw.

Yeah, that's too bad. There's sadly many "armchair experts" on RUclips, both commenters as well as creators. Ironically, in my experience, it's often people that don't actually follow your content (which happens with curated content like shorts). So it's not even like a beloved supporter giving a critique, just a stranger who doesn't know how you or the system works.

I didn't know the part about the external links. Sort of understandable policy wise, but a bit unpractical if you'd like to refer to some info on wikipedia. Another new thing learned today.

Studying mast cell degranulation sounds helpful.

Here's some more information just in case you are interested (and in case any medical researchers happen to read these comments):
According to the data for my subjective dyspnea issue, high histamine foods seemed to affect the severity of my symptoms, but moving to a low histamine diet (while helpful), hasn't solved things. There's this sudden improvement followed by a sudden worsening every couple of days, seemingly triggered by usually inert foods/liquids. It's looking like histamine is being released internally, and mast cells are the prime candidate for that, like they're doing an automatic degranulation every two days or so. Additionally, my blood bilirubin level has spiked, which *can* apparently happen when histamine metabolism overtakes normal liver clearance (not a highly researched area). In combination with this, I had a Moderna Covid vaccination six weeks prior, and the first ever episode of this happened back in 2020 after a tickly throat. We can't test if Covid was involved, but it's a possibility, given that many people come away from a Covid infection (or vaccination) with mast cell dysfunctions (largely changes in sensitivity), and interestingly back in 2020 my symptoms seemed to naturally improve after six months (which is the estimated turnover rate for mast cell replacement).
The thing that's made it really confusing is that even though the pattern of the data looks very much like a mast cell activation issue, my symptoms are *very* different from everyone else. A lot of people get hives or other 'sickness' symptoms, but my body has always had this weird anti-inflammation thing going on (maybe from the high bilirubin on account of Gilbert's Syndrome), so I only have one very specific sensory issue.
I think the elevated histamine and mast cell release is increasing the calcium / sodium update of vagus nerve endings and making them false-fire, which is 'sensed' as breathlessness. This is backed up by the fact that holding something minty in my mouth causes the dyspnea to spike, because the menthol likely stimulates TRPM8 receptors which contribute to the false firing of the nerve.
All completely theoretical, but if I don't test all these things myself then no one else will, because the healthcare system is not effectively designed to discover new conditions, only treat old ones that fit outdated diagnostic criteria.

I feel like in the last 8 months comments disappear or sneakily fail to post for no reason at all. Polite, no links, no suspicious keywords, no edits, doesn't matter. Verbose comments fail more often but even that doesn't seem to matter too much. The machine isn't very reliable.

I think I've heard similar things. Actually, I've seen that happen with emojis as well. At the end of many of my videos, I ask people to put a specific emoji in the comments, and sometimes a couple of those comments will randomly disappear for a few hours, and then reappear without explanation.

Some people see demons where there is not even a shadow.
This is one of the least "tricky" channels on YT. One of the biggest problems in society is people who are positive about things they are completely wrong about.
People who only see the bad in people (especially when that bad isn't there) will live a very unpleasant life. Look for the good first. Also, people offering tons of videos for free trying who then try to make a buck selling legitimate products here and there is not a bad thing. Though that wasn't what this YT person was doing in the first place.

Why do you have so many cuts in your videos? For me it makes it look like a jerky 15fps video that can give me a headache if I watch too long. I have had past videos of yours induce motion sickness something I typically only get in first person shooters/games.

    • @CurtisHolt
      @CurtisHolt  8 часов назад +3

A few reasons - I get bored watching my videos back, so I cut out all the empty space.
Got many comments on previous videos recommending people to watch my videos on 2x speed. This seems like a compromise. Maybe it's also some kind of attention-deficit quirk that when I watch them back, it makes me sleepy unless it's tight cut.
For videos with gameplay, I try to make it smoother, but sometimes the recording method doesn't allow for it, e.g. the first 'hunting for inspiration' videos were recorded with the face cam overlaid on the gameplay footage as it was supposed to be a test but ended up being released.
For discussions, I take time to think between talking because I don't script things - if I script videos, I procrastinate and they don't get made. Also more recently, I take time to catch my breath due to a subjective dyspnea issue, so I need to cut out the space where it looks like I'm breathless.
Generally, I just like the faster pace. There are no solutions, only compromises.

I'll be honest, if you get a headache from a jump cut that's a you problem. Sounds like you'd be better off watching unedited live streams or VODs. Cause what you're asking for is just straight up boring content lol

    • @Forztr

@@Jaakeup Curtis asked if people had any questions on the production side of things, I asked such a question and gave a reason why I asked. He replied promptly with a detailed explanation which more than answered my curiosity. Not sure why you felt the need to jump in and add your own thoughts, but I'll add I solved my issue by not watch Curtis videos unless it's something that really interest me. In those cases I just listen if it's full face cam.

It's a sensible question, and everyone has a personal preference when it comes to video pacing. Great thing about the Blender community is there seems to be a format for everyone, depending on the channel.
