Based on the video, it’s top speed is around 166 kmh. That’s the speed it managed to get up to under it’s own power on a leveled surface. Downhill it does 186 kmh but as soon as a slight little incline came it dropped all the way down to 159 kmh

I travelled at 175km/h heading to Munchen airport in a laden Espace with 4 adults and full size luggages for 6 pax
i got espace IV (2008) and i went 207 with 5 adults and full luggage.
As an old renault owner myself, the thing with the buggers is; the harder you drive them, the more comfortable they become.

I had that engine in a Megane Coupé, yellow Piolín and It was fast, rough overall when It was cold and with a good consum. It's amazing how moves the Espace...good video!!!

Ohh the memories, I had a 3rd Gen Espace a couple of years ago aswell. I loved that thing, one of the coolest Interiors of all time
It's kinda cool that the Espace has its cult following, not a lot of minivans have that. This one is the best for having the screaming V10 of the Williams FW15C. And the design still looks good.
Done this in a Peugeot 807 2.0 gasoline to the Alps in Germany. Kind of surprised me that that car was not slow. The engine was from BMW and as you go thru the gears, it pulls hard above 3000 rpm. It was kind of funny to see the Peugeot reach 200 km/h with comfort in the captain chairs sitting high above other traffic. But then the cost for this brick: 1 liter per 5 km.

Acceleration and top speed is just as i expected to be. I have the same engine in my old Volvo v40 but its 70kw,same engine sound and i must say for that engine that is bullet proof, not a single issue in last 200 000kms.bought it with little less than 300k on the clock, now its 500k
Nice video.. I had a rental 2001 2.2Dti I believe. It was fast on the autobahn. 220 all day long. Was back in 2001 when these were new.
My family had a 2,2 dTi - We called it the spaceship. It was fun on the Autobahn.

That's Renault Espace is an excellent car on V6 engine !
Espace is great car, born for long journeys without taking passengers away from comfort ... engine that with due attention can reach 500k km very well ... the 4WD (quadra) is highly sought after
500k is nothing for that engine. Given that it had proper diesel filters and proper mechanics to install them.

ta renia jest mega wygodna do jazdy :D my ją mieli ale silnik 2.2 TD 98 hp właśnie i do pracy i np po dziurach się jechało 50 km/h lub więcej to w tym aucie idzie czuć się jak w limuzynie.. że nie czuć nic pod kołami nwt jak z ciężarem się jeździło hah nie jedną betoniarkę lub inne rupieci się woziło :D

Oh yeah it was during the day we had a giant cloud of Saharan sand over Western Europe, our cars sitting outside got covered under a thin layer of sand, and daylight had this otherworldly orange tint.
In Spain was amazing a lot of sand and dirt in our cars hahaha
We had one of these, has some cool features, like the radio that can be controlled with a remote, passenger seat can be turned around, and rear sun shades. It also has a V6 version, but I heard that it's not too reliable
Depends which V6, but it is reliable. Very reliable I might add. In the gen IV Espace you have the Nissan derived 3.5 V6 - which is also very reliable.
If you can try Renault Safrane 2.5 20v or v6.
Einerseits finde ich super, mit dem Espace 186 km/h zu fahren, ein toller Luftwiderstand muss es mit 98 PS erlauben. Andererseits bin ich überzeugt, dass sich kein Diesel freut, mit Vollgas getreten zu werden... Wenn man nur 10 % Gas wegnimmt, ist man kaum langsamer unterwegs, schont trotzdem Motor und Umwelt. Ich weiß, für das Video musst du alles geben, aber im Alltag gewinnt man mehr mit dem Schwung: wer nicht bremst, gewinnt.

My old 1998 renault megane 1.9dti coupe would max out at 220, I'm surprised that the minivan manages to reach such a high speed as well!
Same, my coach dTi 225 km/h , with ecu modified + presion turbo 1.5 bar , 237 km/h tachimeter , very 217 km/h
I knew someone that owned that 98 Megane coupé with that 1.9 dTi, he was dmn fast on it!😅

My cousin drove over a million km with this van, but the engine is from the old good diesel school - 2.2 DT, ordinary turbo diesel, without modern electronics and many sensors

I don't know how fast it can get, but when this one reaches 160 on a flat road and 186 slightly downhill, it could maybe do 190-200 on a flat road and even more than 200 downhill 🤔

@@PeterBee911 They made a video with a Audi Q2 or BMW X2 if I remember correctly and he started road rage with a passat there. I cant imagine lending a car to these guys as a dealership or company. At least that explains why they are driving used cars most of the time and other channels like this nearly just new cars from dealerships.

My dad used to have one in 2.2 dci when I was a kid! it was a lovely car but unfortunately, we didn’t have it very long after the cambelt went.😕
I had one too for 6 month. Engine was terrible, seats where way too short for tall people and after the first and only trip from switzerland to denmark we sold it immediately 😄

That is the "cheating" of modern cars: Their speed is only due to their aerodynamics! As soon as it goes a little uphill, they loose a lot of speed. In the old days, a car indicating 180 km/h max speed, did them also on slight uphill parts and with front winds. New cars soon loose their momentum and get slow because they haven't enough horsepowers and are heavy. An Golf GTI I with 110 HP is quite a quick car, even today, because it hasn't got to transport all the useless stuff like catalytic converters, electric seats and windows, air-conditioning and so on!
