I appreciate the effort and info here. Been watching for years. Grateful for the insight and exposure to new products. Once again, consistent testing let’s me know how it compares to similar products. Otherwise I would be buying items of poor quality or of a quality I wish was better.

I just got the Rocky 40 and love the metal finish. Also like the quality feel of the handles and buttons. I’m going to do a single zone test and reference your dual zone results to find out the difference. The 40 should ultimately use just a little less power as is. Great review!
I like my BougeRV fridge but like he mentions in the review, some of these units are getting up to the price of more proven brands.

Testing these portable refrigerators being totally empty is worthless . I have a 45qt Setpower that I filled and opened periodically a 50amp hour lithium battery lasted almost 6 full days and it’s half the price of the fridges you have tested
There is no point of filling it with frozen food. That doesn't test power consumption or compressor at all, just insulation. It's not a cooler.
Glad the wall divider can be removed. I prefer no drain plug to ensure no leaks. Thank you Hobo.
I THINK the drain plug is there, so you can empty liquids out of the cooler WITHOUT tipping it over beyond 45degrees? My Go Sun battery cooler warnings say it the cooler tips more that 45 degrees ( like if it tips completely over if dropped), the internal coolant is spread outside where it doesn’t belong, and you have to turn the cooler completely OFF, let it stand upright, for 12 hours to have to coolant drain back where it belongs inside, so the compressor isn’t damaged

I would like to see more companies offer drawer fridges. I have seen a picture of one on Bouge RV website but never been able to find it. Drawer fridges are easier to package under platforms and are easier to access the contents.
i got there smaller one got good price even better now . i used it to keep some my box frozen veg during power out from hurricane ian from battery s
between that and my home fridge i was able to shut chest freezer off

I'd have to stick with iceo. My go 20 has been running 2 years straight and my jp 40 pro has been running straight a bit more than a year now.
Igloo new dc fridge which is sold at costco has a dometic compressor. Even the electric panel diaplay Looks like dometic. For me there are already proven other brands out there.
I'd love to be able to buy that over here.

The "built-in" battery seems more of a waste, just add $ to your SoGen Fund.
Chest type units dont let cold flow out when door is open, like an upright. Since divider is movable, where exactly would you separate the doors? If the divider was stationary a 2 door might make sense. But, alas, it doesn't make any sense.
They REALLY need to add an extra battery you can charge outside the cooler, so you can be charging a “spare” while using the main battery…so you can swap it out after the first battery exhausts

One thing to notice about that particular model (Rocky series): the smaller compartment can never be colder than the larger one so it gives you 3 options, not 4 like their other dual zone models ! Might be relevant for people who like their freezer smaller than their refrigerator parts. It's just a few quarts difference between the spaces but, still... ;)
I don't know if you'll see this off-topic question, Prof, but I'll try anyway. In an outdoor, on-foot, survival situation which foldable solar panel would you recommend for rechargable items such as your telephones, radios, torches powerbanks and walkie-talkies etc.?
The battery isn't worth its price. In Canada it was cheaper to buy a small Ecoflow than to buy their battery. My Bougerv fridge is a different model and i fail to see how this one is any better?

Great video! Is there any fridges you would recommend that would be best in salt water environment? Like on the deck of a boat. Any better then others or all gonna eventually get the salt water demise
since the 100 ah 12v lipo 4 batteries are getting even less than sla i think that's the way to go power for about 30-36 hrs as you tested

Professor Hobo, I really need your help. I purchased a new Bluetti AC200p a few years ago and just 2 months after the warranty expired, it started acting crazy. It would show the generator was at 20% and when I went to charge it, it instantly said it was at 100%. Bluetti wasn’t going to do anything about it because the warranty expired. They later offered me a used one which a gladly accepted and thanked them.
Now after about a year in a half maybe, this generator is doing the same thing. I tried calling their service number but all 3 are no longer in service.
Are you able to help me with this because I live in the Southern California desert with a health condition, and I need to have a back up for my small AC unit Incase we loose power . I am on a fixed income being disabled and I definitely can’t afford another Solar generator.
Do you know of anything I can do to this to resolve this problem ???

I bought a single zone iceco based on your reviews and using your discount. That was 3 or 4 years ago. Love it!!! Its a 72 (or 74, cant recall). Thinking of getting a second smaller one. I run it in a truck camper with 360 watts of solar.
Your last test with thermometer in fridge zone, temp was set at 29 on the display to achieve 36 in the fridge temp display. Look at your video, you used to be reliable for your tests, are you pandering to your sponsors now :(
No, the display shows what the fridge "thinks" the temperature is. That's not always what it is inside. I mentioned at least 4 times it was set to 37F/0F. It would be very stupid of me to risk my reputation by faking results as others can very easily double check!
@@HOBOTECH why does the display show 29 and the temp inside 36, doesn’t make sense. I have a bougeRV and it never shows 7 degrees lower on the display than the actual temp. I always respected your views on products and still might , just need to watch your video’s with grain of salt.
