I'm learning English, it's very difficult for me to understand some youtubers, but I can understand you very well, I really like the way you speak. i'll try again with Java, it's a good language.
Thank you Alejandro, I try to be as clear and direct as I can. Java is a great language that solves a lot of problems. Good luck!

Salute to your knowledge about Java, the way you explained jr. to sr. Just awesome, it's really helped to see the picture where am standing right now and how much time it will take to reach that top of mountain, waiting for more videos ( beginner to advance ).
You are most welcome, next video is going to be exactly about what you mentioned. Jr to Sr!
Thank you for this java roadmap. This gives me better guidance and direction.
You're very welcome!
Awesome video. Thanks for the information. 😀
Good summary of the stuff that comes in to play when writing Java software. I think this video is a good eye opener for beginners who think they might be ready for a job after learning the basic syntax of a language and the basics of a web framework. Projects nowadays get more and more complex with things like microservice architectures, cloud services, container orchestration, messaging systems, CI/CD pipelines etc.
Thanks for the kind words. And I totally agree with you, the stack keeps growing and more and more technologies are coming to the table. Gotta keep up!
Wow! I'm new Subscriber from Philippines. I'm inspired to become Java Developer soon. Thanks to your video sir. i really appreciate🤗🤗🤗

Isso ai, vai com tudo que eh uma carreira maravilhosa!
currently looking into the tech industry and i think java developer is something im thinking of perusing although i have no clue what non of what u said means i can tell this video and your information was very clear and precise brilliant (p.s if you ever think of changing career u should try modeling cus woow you hot as hell lol )
Great video n context brother! I have a question .. there are different versions of Java what do you need to think about when choosing a Java version? Do one always go for the latest ? Or one not so old but yet newer version? Does the company you work for later tell you which version to pick?
And another question, with so many online courses to pick from what do you need to look for when choosing a course that is good?
Cheers!
Amazing!
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you very much! I’m from Ukraine and I’m seeking for Java job remotely and your video-map really helps me !
Glad I could help!
That is Hard work that you did there
As long as its helpful to you, it is worth it!

Nice video brother
Thanks for the visit
Here, in Russia, requirements for Java Junior or Java intern are hellish: Java Core, JSP, Servlets, Hibernate ORM, Spring Framework, JS, JS Framework and many many other technolodgies. And there are about 10 vacancies for intern in Moscow and less than 100 in the whole country!
my younger brother is just starting in the industry, I’ll send him this video as a starting point 😊
I am happy for your brother!
and thanks for sharing, really appreciate it!
Great video...
Request you to add sections in your video.
Thanks! Added now.
Thanks Phil. I would dedicate 6 months to thoroughly follow your roadmap. I really want to become a Junior Java Developer this year. I'm working towards it already.
Thanks so much.
You can do it! I suggest using a tool to track your progress like Evernote for example. There's a free version and gives you a lot of satisfaction to check the boxes of your progress. Also gives you an idea of the "helicopter view" on what you need to learn
@@learn_with_phil Thanks Phil
Have you become one yet? :)
First you scared me so much but than I understood that is not impossible I guess so I will try)
It is definitely not impossible! If I did it you can do it too. Just find a motivation for doing it, other than money of course because that will not be strong enough to make you go through all the obstacles. When love is involved everything becomes easier, so find love in learning the art of programming and everything else will come along.
Today will be marked as the day I follow the chann. After around 2 months, I will come back and tell u how much the video content help me on the way to get a job as Java junior.
that's awesome happy to hear my content is helpful.
you will definitely get there!
Best content on this channel
really appreciate it, thanks for the support!
Hey Phil! Would the book "OCP Java 17" take me from beginner to Junior-level developer? Also, is it beginner friendly? If not, what books would you recommend?
Hi there!
That book is definitely a book that would get you ready to be a good Java developer.
It has exercises in it and you can practice what you learn in your dev environment.
Besides that, after reading it and practicing it you will be ready to get certified as a Java developer.
If you understand programming logic, and the basics of programming that book is a good read, else start with the Harvard's CS 50 course online.
Thank you for the great video!! Just a quick question I have is that do you think doing leetcode is important?
Hey there Irelia!
If you're a beginner is definitely worth it quickly get the base concepts.
But the best way to lear is always by trying to code in Java some kind of projects. Like a bookstore, or gas station admin system, etc.
Publish those projects in your GitHub and you'll have something to show to potential companies that would like to hire you.
Lemme know if you have more questions, cheers!
Nice video. What’s your thoughts on Golang, should one learn it and how you see it’s demand etc.
Thanks!
Hi there, thanks for the feedback! Golang is an incredibly fast and powerful language suitable for low level programming (kind of like C++ equivalent). Depending on what you're going to work on definitely Golang is a great option. From my research there's not a lot of jobs for that language like Java, JavaScript or Python because Golang is quite specific for high performing applications.
Hey Phil, Do you think to start a Java Learning series ?
Where is the video for SR Java Developer? :).
Great video! A lot to take in all at once! But very helpful
Here it is: ruclips.net/video/2mfDcB87Mo4/видео.html
Thanks!@@learn_with_phil
nice brother, this video will be so usefull to me because I'm learning java (I will start today). and I already know about html, css, javascript and React, but instead of going to node, I prefer to go to java. and I'm happy because I practiced a lot my knowledge in javascript, so now I will get some concepts faster (I think).
Glad it helped man, Java is a great choice if you want to jump into the enterprise world of large scale applications. Such as banks and government institutions. You’ll soon be a fullstack developer!
@@learn_with_phil thanks brother 🙏 this will be so good in my career.
will it be easier to understand java knowing javascript and react? I'm still trying to figure out whether to go with nodejs or java
So, the logic of programming it’s easier and you can skip that part, but I’m starting the OOP and I’m studying and tanking notes, so its a new language but some concepts it’s easier to understand because I know the logic of programming
Hi! Great content. By the way do you have any recommendations for computer science course online?
Hey there! Thanks, really appreciate it. Here, follow this course: www.edx.org/course/introduction-computer-science-harvardx-cs50x
Hi, I am a undergraduate in Canada. I have a question. Do I need to finish a java project before I find a job? Is it neccessary? Or I can start to find a job after I finish this roadmap?
Hi I am a new subscriber. I would love a copy of that book. Also, love the video. Self taught aspiring want to become developer with JavaScript and some Python. You are absolutely correct about Java. I see more jobs for Java developers than any other technology. I even see the title of Java Developer being used for Android development despite Kotlin being the new flag ship language too Android.
P.S. I highly recommend you try out Kotlin it is an amazing language, it has null safety.
I appreciate what you just said, Python and JavaScript are great languages to learn. Kotlin is indeed the defacto choice for Android. But most jobs are for Java and the idea is to make money instead of programming in what you like the most.
@@learn_with_phil Hi Phil, learned how to make a couple of API's with Django. Started late but I've been learning Kotlin for Android. Started to make an Android app today with Kotlin and after I complete it. I will try and make the same mobile app but with Java, I wonder if this is the best way to learn Java? Learn by doing? Java is kind of complicated. Thanks.
Looks like we are following each other.
@@TheJackTheLion Jack what are you making? Are you working on any projects.
Great explanation, you should also record coding some real world projects. There are a lots of videos but some of them have quality.
Hey that’s actually a great idea. Do you have any suggestions of what would be interesting to see being coded?
@@learn_with_phil That can be whichever you want but it should be more than crud app, you can include crud images, videos, payment gateways… E commerce can be really nice…
Hi... the audio in this video is so good!! amazing! This audio is from ulanzi j12?
Hey there thanks for your comment. First part is from the ulanzi j12, the one of me presenting on the screen is the MacBook microphone. Cheers!
@@learn_with_phil and you filming with iphone with cinematic mode or you use a other camera?
I really loved this video. I just started watching your channel today. Do you know any specific online course that covers all this topic ? If you can, please suggest some of them.
There's not going to be a ONE course covering all but definitely there will be MANY course covering each one of them. My suggestion is starting with the things I talk first and following that order of learning. And keep working on side projects and doing interviews with as many companies you can. Not passing an interview is not failure, it is part of the learning process. But not doing them, it is.
Thanks Phil, for your valuable information it will help me a lot and how many hours we want to study to complete this road map in 6 months?
Hey there to help you organise I would get an app called Notion or Evernote and structure all the topics you want to study. That will give you a sense of progress and trackability. Once you structure the things you wanna learn, start going through them. I believe that in 6 months studying 8 hours a day you can be ready for a Jr. Java Developer position.
what are some good resources to learn? the ocp java 17 will teach me most of these things or just the basic java part?
definetely its a great source of knowledge, if you read that book you'll be a decent core Java dev
I've been told it's basically impossible to get a Java developer job with no job experience... Is that true?
Is learning Java a waste of time if you're new?
Never believe in what other people tell you because the mind of a person that doesn't believe in herself will automatically trick her in thinking the same about you.
You can become a self taught developer with Java as well as any other programming language.
I would recommend doing a CS50 course together with so you learn the computer science fundamentals.
Then start applying for Jr. position jobs showing them example projects that you developed.
Java is an art ❤
Yes it is! Java is a beautiful language.
@learn_with_phil I found some " me people " 😅
Thank
Change from php to java
Good choices are like art
I've been studying Manual QA but also learning Java on the side because later I want to become an Automation Engineer. Do I need to go back and learn the CS fundamentals? Also, I plan to pick up Kotlin and become an Android developer after that.
Hi there!
That's awesome that you're following the Testing career.
It's one of my favourite areas. But you must know that automated testing is almost as an evolution of back end developer.
So you'd have to have solid understanding of REST, Spring and Java programming. To do automated testing in the Java ecosystem you'd be using JUnit, Mockito, AssertJ, Gatling, Karate, Selenium and so on.
Ready my subscription. 👍🏻

I'm researching to find out which programming language is best in my city so far I've noticed that Java and C# are in demand. I've bought Java MasterClass on Udemy from Tim. Should I learn first javascript, css and Htmal before taking oop language ?
Really helpful your video thank you
You start with Java directly. Html and Css are web based languages. There is no prerequisite like you should learn these languages before learning Java.
@@girishanker3796 thank you
my pleasure!
Hi , is adding angular to your java career especially entry level is a must ?
usually Jr positions are fullstack developer positions so I'd say adding JavaScript is a must.
Can you please make a tutorial how to learn to make projects.Because I don’t understand how to start and how to do it
could elaborate a little bit more about what you'd like to learn?
waiting for my book 😉
Very soon I will be doing the prize draw! Once I hit 1000 subs 🙏🏼

Java is the best for enterprise systems.
I agree with you, most of the large scale applications are created in Java for its abundance of workforce, commercial support and reliability.
Hi what keyboard you using?
I am using a keychron K1SE-H3
Can i get a job if i will learn these skills.
Actually I am fresher.
I have done projects using java, jsp, html, css, servlet, jdbc, mysql these skills are outdated
Definetely! These Jr. skills presented here would easily open up the doors for you to land a Jr. position in any company that uses Java as their main language.
For 0 to jr. 😢, I assume this is the 3rd most difficult language after c and c++
There's no such thing as a difficult language.
There's not enough time put into learning it.
Remember, there's no shortcut to success.
Enjoy the journey and get better one day after the other.
It necessary learn java EE before jumping into spring boot ??
Hi there!
The answer is NO. NOT AT ALL.
The only thing you need is a good understanding of the Java programming language to start creating Spring Boot applications,
I am from a India can you make the video about freelancer as a java developer .

How to get started: have five years experience with a FAANG company.

As a fresher java developer how can I build resume and where should I apply for job
Hi there! My next video will be exactly about that topic. Stay tuned!
@@learn_with_phil thanku for ur reply sir
Please give me the book sir :( i am new to programming so it would help me alot to get me my first job.
I will select the winner by using as random generator in Java once I hit 1000 subs.
I do not disagree, but so funny how programmers do things and as from sys ops we try to contain your programming crap and ensure the system is secure plus with network Stuff not sure you guys know how all that works. For example why is a Cisco 9200 switch needed and why is a Linux pc not doing that, why is SELinux mandatory? Programmers even though I dip toes in it has no clue on how or hardware to scale on your apps on your dockers are seamless and just works. That is what sys and network engineers do
Are you still producing contents bro?
Sir I have done graduation 2020,is that possible to get java developer as a fresher
of course it is.
shall I make a video about this?
@@learn_with_philyes

Actually Java is 3-rd most used not 4-th. And Typescript/Javascript is the first most used and Python is second most used.
Get more accurate statistics.
Really appreciate your comment. I got the data from the Tiobe index. Different sources, slightly different outcomes.
@@learn_with_phil You deleted my reply to you?
Learn java and no job. This is it. HR people insist on you have to be graduated from cs they won't see you easily. Learn JavaScript guys
that's not true, if you look enough and you have good skills you will find a job for sure. JS is also a great option of course.
Operating System, not Operational System.
You Better don't open your mouth

Python first of course!

They cannot take down java due to android getting strong!
That's right, Android development is made with Kotlin which is a JVM based language.
Java is widely used in large scale enterprise applications.
There's a lot of money, fun and challenge in getting involved with this language.
