Trudeau says "push back" needed against international students using asylum for Canadian citizenship

- On Tuesday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau addressed concerns about international students using the asylum path for Canadian permanent residency or citizenship.
"We need to properly be able to identify who needs most help, who is there as a true asylum seeker and other people using the asylum path as a shortcut to gain Canadian permanent residency or citizenship is something that we need to continue to push back against," Trudeau said.
He added "A lot of international students being exploited in Canada instead of getting the education and the opportunities that they came to our country for. So making sure that the system is rigorous, continues to be a significant priority for us."

You forgot to add the Brampton single family homes being converted into (int’l student) rooming houses that don’t pass fire code, and that pose a threat to the health and safety of neighbouring families. Our PM (and I’m ashamed to call him that) has dropped so many balls, which is why he’s lost the public’s confidence.
My mom told me I will surely get a job in Walmart or Tim Hortons next summer coz those employees who are currently working in these franchises with their headphone for whole shift are going back to serve their countries as there are lots of Walmart in their countries.

No. Plus Canada did NOT tell international students/parents to spend/risk their life savings on a "Canadian dream". Canada did NOT tell international students to borrow money. Canada did NOT promise international students work. Canada did NOT promise international students PERMANENT RESIDENCY.
Meanwhile freelance agents have been operating in an unbridled market in India. Often by painting a distorted picture of what students can receive from Canada. Plus in recent years, a new type of recruitment has cropped up via foreign nationals as many "edu-tech" have created online platforms to connect millions of potential students with the recruiters. The sub-agents have absolutely no no direct connection with the Canadian college. Plus the college has no no ability to control their conduct. Indian sham operations abused/abusing Indian students in person &/or via massive advertising … PRIMARILY in their native language that most Canadians do NOT understand. They paint a false picture in the minds of their own people (of what Canada could or would or should offer Indian students)!
Canadians are seeing Indians protesting & waving their flags on Canadian streets making demands. Because they may not have enough credentials to remain in Canada? And because rules designed to protect CANADA are not meeting their desires? Why isn't there repetitive crowds of African or Caribbean or Filipino etc., students making demands? They're in Canada too. And Canadians are seeing Indian protestors carrying signs telling Canada (one of the most tolerant countries on the planet) to end it's racism (by not deporting)!!! Really angering Canadians.
And even though Canada is being falsely/unfairly blamed for too much, Canada has yet to deport students like crazy (but likely will soon). Instead Canada has been trying trying to find balance of who can stay vs go. While also trying to fix anything Canada did wrong. Create a better future. Why? Canada's own are also victims of the $ greedy Indian 'agents' who misrepresented Canadian PR. Due to a severe lack of homes and entry jobs in Canada partially due to Indian STUDENTS and agents very creatively swarming all post-secondary SCHOOLS, with vast majority fighting for PR versus returning home without it when SCHOOLING ends! Regardless of their qualifications or Canada's needs. Many asking for asylum too (which Indians rarely qualify for). Canada PR has NEVER been tuition purchasable.

⦁ What is India doing about any of this? After Canada told India to halt Ghost Consulting? Indians themselves say their Indian leaders are often corrupt & deceitful. Plus Canada didn't have numerous PRIVATE 'diploma mills' until 40% of international students were from India. Many in or near Brampton Ontario, and Surrey British Columbia, where most Indians have lived. Coincidence? Schools that Canada is now shutting down.
⦁ What about all the social media videos that primarily Indian nationals have posted (for half a decade now including today) all advertising Canadian PR like they're selling a shirt? Promoting Canadian visas & permits & schools & jobs etc. etc.. Videos not only posted hourly but rarely in English or French. With very rare input from Canadian citizens.
⦁ What about the IELTS spouses? Anchor babies?
⦁ What about Canadian food banks & other charity services being recklessly advertised on YT in Indian languages?

There's a pretty simple rule I learned in life that I live by: Never give others the materials you are using to build your home with, because you'll run out of materials and never actually end up building it. This country needs to learn that if it doesn't take care of its own fundamental problems, there won't be a Canada in the future, to help foreigners, anyway. You have to prioritize yourself first so that you can be in a position to take care of yourself and others tomorrow.

Conestoga, Centennial, Seneca, Humber and George Brown are more crooked than the diploma mills, as they’re community colleges, which by definition should be educating their local communities. Excellent comment, although I would add that some of the universities and community colleges deliberately go to India to recruit international students (I’ve spoken to those recruiters). And sadly, while our Feds don’t encourage intl students to take debt to come here, they do turn a blind eye to the fact that universities and community colleges don’t have nearly enough accommodation to grow their student populations, thus putting students in overpriced accommodation and full-time work to survive. Our feds have screwed Canadians and played a large role in screwing the int’l students. I’m glad the Feds are trying to clean up both messes, but their priority should always be Canadians.
So don't allow people to come into the country who would abuse these systems, you're the federal government, you're the one who decides who get a study permit.

Mr Trudeau destroyed my life by introducing new immigration laws and tightening foreign temporary workers rules .I have been displaced from my spouse from my new born you invited me after working hard 2 years my tax money gone and kicked me out this completely unfair and inhumane who does care when politics and power get prioritised then humanity never exists

No. There needs to be a cap on people coming to Canada. Or very special rules. The costs to support them, which I am sick of paying for, go through the roof. I’m sick of watching tax dollars go to solving other peoples problems. I’m sick of the debt levels continuing to go up. The guy should pay back the debt he created from his own damned wallet.
"Suffering" shouldn't be the measure by which we choose. "Struggle" should be the measure. Anyone can suffer. Only people who try to improve their lives struggle.
