The sound quality of this port really has me shocked. I did not expect it to sound this close to the Neo Geo. It's almost identical

This is the only Metal Slug game that gives you a life meter instead of dying in one hit. Something I wish they would do more in Metal Slug.
It's kinda frustrating but it's Metal Slug. Plus you'd get to see the death animations so much less.

Metal slug 1st mission and 2nd mission
The arcade games were meant to eat your money till you got good enough to clear them on 1 credit, no way were the programmers going to give the player a cakewalk. This one is a handheld console game, and not an arcade one, so no need to coin munch, and you got the life meter.

Everybody gangster until someone flies a VTOL into your base.
Any portable versions of this game just felt so much more inferior in comparison to their arcade counterparts, with the exception of XX. But, I find it funny that this little GBA original spin-off surpasses the final sequel released on the DS. I know GBA was a 2D beast, portability-wise, but come on how does that happen?

Most of them such as graphics, characters and backdrop music are same with Arcade version, but its maps are different.

I saw my brother playing fireboy and watergirl on hudgames, now I’m stick with this game, too.
The first boss was the tank, now I play but it never jumps and it almost makes me helpless
Man i used to play this in my GBA SP since i was just a smol bean.
Besides the lack of blood, 10 year old me thought it was lame how the 'hidden stage' cards only gave you access to a hidden room with the exception of the Dungeon and how the back of the box showed stages not available in the game

Save states
Heavy use of states in most of these longplays, but its still cool to see the game. Some of the players dont seem to really understand a game's mechanics in these videos though, due to the reliance on save and load state cheating to complete them. One good example was a Gundhara longplay I saw on the channel where the player never used the bullet deflect kick. They arent always good videos if you are looking for tactics to use during playthroughs. I think it would be better if they were more transparent about using states to cheat through the games. I had to look into it to find out. None of that on my channel =)
I remember borrowing my buddy's Gameboy to play it all along for a week.

Because what really makes people come back to Metal Slug it it's nuanced, well developed characters. I mean it's really amazing how much they've developed over the years. In the first game they were well animated but otherwise interchangeable people with guns that ran and jumped. By the fifth game they had experience personal growth and become so much more #sarcasm

Lo unico malo del juego es que la rocket launcher no hace daño en area como fue el de siempre, tal vez fue un error de los creadores o tal vez lo olvidaron poner esa funcion de daño en area :(
