My Grandfather served with Canadian troops in WWII in Europe. He said they were fine ass soldiers, BUT where they really excelled was as Tanker men. He said they were excellent Tanker men that could be relied upon to hold the line and kick some major ass. He was always very fond of them. Always spoke of their bravery and commitment to their job.
Thanks for video showing what the Canadians did WW2 was fought and won by ALLIES FIGHTING TOGETHER WE ALL NEED TO REMEMBER THAT TODAY WITH ALL THE ENEMIES AGAINST THE FREE WORLD🇺🇸🇬🇧🇨🇦💥
Terrific! Thank you VERY much for covering the so often ignored Canadians! There's another YT video on another channel that purports to cover the invasion of Sicily, but all but completely forgot about the Canadians, to the point of showing them languishing in the rear - far from reality.
Nice introduction documentary about allies difficult chased operations against Nazism defensive lines ..land topography of Italy 🇮🇹 imposed tanks clashes in short ranges. In the meantime, Canadian commands threw large numbers of Sharman tanks
This is only a question a certain point Germans knew they were going to lose why didn't they send all their best division to the east hold off the Russians and let the Western allies conquer more of their territory knowing that the Allies would be a lot more kind to them than the Soviets just saying if I had a choice I would surrender to the British or the Americans before the Russians like I said just a question
A fair question. Were I a German soldier, I certainly would prefer to surrender over to the UK, US, or Canada than Russia. I think the simple answer is quite boring, delusion. I think high command, especially hitler, genuinely believed that the war effort could genuinely be turned around in some capacity. That’s just my takeaway from nerding out on WW2 and military history as a hobby.
Doesn’t sound any plausible, that the inferior Sherman tanks manage to destroy all Panther tanks. But it’s a British-US-Canadian documentary, so there has to be lots of allied war heroes and lots of unlikely victories. Thumb down for a-historical, biased nonsense.

Canadians won the battle of italy, paid in blood, have nothing against americans but what a disgraceful campaign for them
Thank you to all the Canadian Corps, heros all
Tremendous story!
Tremendous production!
Thank you!
those ronsons were a death trap
One of the greatest waists of life, as judged by hindsight, which is so very easy. I have fallen into that trap.

should rename this channel to the TANK channel
I could never understand stand why the Canadians didn't use air support like good old paton did
Those Canadians were bad asses but dear lord did the British high command use them for the nasty work.
Not very accurate about tank survival 97% got out

The germans did surrender to the allies in far greater numbers. The Russians needed restitution
Perhaps the Anglo-Saxons were not the “fair-play” guys, they like to display themselves to the rest of the world.
