Used to watch it when I got home from school as a kid on AHC was heart broken when they took it off

We learned about this battle in armor school. Going to my 1st deployment on my tank soon. Hope I can do 1/2 as good as these guys.
Where are you station?
Currently in Idaho Army National Guard stationed in Boise
May the Force be with you.
Ok private
Armor is not used in any combat zone currently sooo you’re going overseas to sit somewhere. Not be on a tank
I served in this Regiment from 2007-2010, and the fellas that fought this battle are still honored at Rose Barracks in Vilseck, Germany.🇺🇸
"Eagle" and "Ghost" are cool names for tank units.
Driver: "Whut the hell wus that?"
D. Macgregor: "Don't worry about it! Keep driving!"
🤣
Hats off to all the guys in these informative videos, especially those who had their lives cut short. Too much death.
Ah back in the day when we had wars with clear objectives and exit strategies. Good times!
But where’s the endless profits in that? Politicians and their cronies need to eat to you know.

Love this show. It was so awesome. I hope it comes back to tv, or at least they make more episodes on youtube.
There are RUclipsrs that make videos like this on smaller but still amazing fights.
I was there as an EOD Sergeant, and it was insane, we all thought at least half of us would die...
Bloody brilliant post!!!! Well done with this. When you look at how it has all progressed since we brits introduced the tank to the theatre during WWI - its just incredible.
I have found this once again. Yess
Love the Rommel Pic. These Days they would have a picture of Ru Paul in the Tank.

When i was deployed to Iraq in 2003-2004 i remember seing a lot of the Iraqi armour as a skeleton bone yard from the Gulf War still in Kuwait from the Highway of Death.
Thank you for your service!
MSR Tampa! i learned a lot about myself and my squad on that road!
For these 46 some odd minutes videos, they leave alot out and dramatize certain aspects for flair - but reading the comments, it should be made clear - the Iraqi tanks *did* fire and return fire and on a number of instances, land hit on the M1s but the rounds failed to penetrate. People underestimate just how much more advanced the M1 is to a tank like the T-72. The M1's armor is virtual immune to most type of fire they face during these engagements and the M1 could unload round after round while moving full throttle, while most of the time the T-72 had trouble tracking them (optically) much less landing hit and then what they landed had no effect. It was a real battle against well armed opponents - it just seemed to end up as a "turkey shoot" (as some have put it) because our forces are highly trained and their equipment was light years ahead of the enemy's. Even a good boxer can be made to look foolish and sloppy when stepping into a ring with a *great* boxer.
@@stephen-ng too bad they only had Surplus USSR tech. which didn't hold up against the battle of time. Sooner or later Heavier tanks would've come out and crush these relics of the past.
They most likely choose to not show them firing back to cut costs and time. They re-use the same footage many times through the whole thing and the animation work for some of it aren't that great so I'm gonna call low budget on this one.
Very well said,Sir. Air Superiority.made it possible to do so as well as the training. By that, I'm only speaking of the rounds fired in gunnery exercises, personal weapons and vehicular mounted.
Because the differences you stated were accurate as well as the general sentiment of the comments. As far as Mr.Ng's ❓
Not something I'd enjoy envisioning... that's why I had to mention the Air War and superiority.
We're Seeing the results of facing that type force...but you forgot about the nautical drones! LoL!
Gyro stabilisation shooting by the allies I'S the most important thing in advance technology the allies ever had , the German tigers in WW2 were astounded by the ability of comets and Churchills to fire ON THE MOVE! IT'S changed little since
The comet didnt have a stabilizer and the Churchill mk7 had too heavy of a gun to use one, however the shermans all where fielded with a single plain stab that allowed fire on the move below 15 mph
No, I was here. I was Alpha 2nd ACR. The real game changer is TTS imaging. Stabilization is nice, but it isn't perfect. You can short halt and move with nearly the same effect. On the other hand, when you can see and kill the enemy and he can't see you, it's game over. Especially in the sand storms. Actually I kind of felt sort of sorry for them. If you'd ever seen a T-72 hit by a sabot or a HEAT round, it's pretty grim. Secondary explosions just torching the whole crew alive. Some of our friendly fire kills were just as grim.
@@theccpisaparasite8813 we are talking about mid war british vehicles not m1 abrams and t72s, what is your name so I can look you up
@@Moxie_278 I thought he said ""little has changed since then."

Instead of a hand crank, it would have been MUCH BETTER imho to have a foot crank, kinda like riding a bicycle. But, it didn't matter anyway. They still would have been just as dead. At least they wouldn't have died exhausted.
"Russians like to store their ammo around the tank. If you hit it the turret gets blown away" *laughs in Ukrainian*
It's because the Russian tanks have an auto-loader. US tanks don't do that because they a human loaders. I also read somewhere due to the auto-loader Russian tanks have a live round inside the turret with the crew at all times US tanks don't do this!
@@edtrine8692Russian tanks and crew survivability don't tend to go hand in hand. There are already reports of a leopard and several Bradley's being taken out but their crews all survived and most armor was recovered.
@@709mash yeah…Soviet (and Russian by extension) equipment is very “quantity over quality.” The idea being, the equipment sucks, but there’s so much of it that the enemy cant stop all of it.
By comparison, NATO equipment in particular is the polar opposite, very “quality over quantity” - there isnt much equipment, but the equipment that’s there is very capable and effective.
Basically…NATO equipment is designed with modern war and tactics in mind, while Soviet/Russian equipment is designed with WW1-esque mass assault wave tactics in mind.

Found the show that got me into liking tanks. I was probably 8 when I first watched it and thought the panzer 3 was the best tank in existence and could clown anything on earth
Kicked there butts. 🇨🇦👍
I get the impression that if the US 1st Cavalry Division popped through a portal in 1991 into 2023 in Ukraine they would wipe the floor with the Russian in the Donbass. Despite being tan and not green. The level of organization the US Military demonstrates despite itself is truly remarkable. Having served, its amazing how our training translates so well to other battlefield.
Maybe in 20 years the Abrams X will be our MBT lol
Wow very intense scenes.
The battle was totaly balanced
War Thunder Rank VII Ground Battles at its finest. 😋
Whoever that did the sound mix needs a real good resume! I can barely hear what they say over the music from time to time.
I have a few takeaways from this particular episode.
1.) Ya failed to include the British 8th. Army's own ferocious tank battle as they moved into Kuwait 🇰🇼, itself, alongside the US Marines' attack. In fact, it was a Challenger 1 tank that recorded the longest tank-on-tank kill shot of just mite OVER 3 MILES!!!
2.) While I mentioned it, the Marines' own nasty tank engagement at the Kuwait International Airport. Mind you, they, the Marines, were using the M-60 MBT as their armored regiments' tank of choice!!! Yet, they blasted ta hell, a good chunk of Iraqi armor. Though, they DID take some heavy losses. (A Marine tanker can correct me on this. As my memory is shoddy on it.)
3.) Our French allies, too, who were guarding the Allies' far left flank, ALSO had engaged Iraqi armor, too.
While this, SOLELY, focus' on American tank battles. If you TRULY wish to tell the story of the final tank battle(s) of the 20th. Century, THEY MUST BE included, too. Otherwise, you're NOT getting the WHOLE, COMPLETE picture of that battle. So, c'mon. Please, get it right. Modify this episode to include those tank actions from the Marines and, our French and, British Allies, too, okay????
What's fair, is fair; what's right, is right!!
Can you reupload the episodes of for king and country. They just a black screen.
Blitzkrieg in German is lightning war, which means move fast
The only time in history where a Bradley unknowningly mounts a t-72
Imagine now. The Abrams X with advanced control and drone technology.
Dude says, "Probably saved my life!" YES, DEFINITELY SAVED YOUR LIFE!! BUT if he had not been reloading dude would have been hauling ass away. Or reloading as well. But I'm guessing that cuz he had a misfire a reload for him would take longer. Idk, cuz they didn't say, and damned if I've ever been in one!!!
US tanks battle formation looks like Marc Antony Cavalry battle formation.

Yea .... The T 72 is a great tank .....
FOR Target Practice
The T72 was a good tank. Tactics and training matter the most in combat. The export versions of the T72 weren't as advanced as the ones produced for the USSR.
@@joshmeads
I've got news for you the T 72 was stripped down .
Those Side Skirts where Vacuuformed plastic .
They had to use rope to mount the rockets on the launch rail and even if they launched one there was a 65 to 85 percent chance of it blowing up infront of the tank .
It was a gas guzzler and the Russians took out the more efficient engine and put in an old junker from the Korean War .
They couldn't maneuver around at night because The Red Guard had the only night vision equipment and from what I've heard from one of our Tankers , it was also a piece of crap .
This information is first hand experience from my friend the afore mentioned tanker with After Combat Tactical reports because he knew that I like collecting that kind of stuff .
One one more item
Mose of those combatant had less then the average Western schools in education and that's another factor .
Man we really chewed them up
Why does this music go so hard?

great tank battles against germans both sides tell the story. THIS ONLY THE US TELL THE STORY
Typically _the winner_ gets to tell the story.
I imagine they couldn't find very many surviving Iraqi tank crews after the war.
How badly were these Iraqi tankers trained? From watching this video it seems they just sit in their tanks twiddling their thumbs waiting to get blown up.
I mean when you have super cheaply made tanks and you have 70 ton vehicles coming at you when your not ready and they start blowing up your friends, I would be in complete shock and they probably were trying to fire but maybe couldn't get the gun kn target.
@@kousand9917 T72 and T64 weren't cheaply made tanks. They are no where near as good as M1 Abrams, but they still were advanced armoured vehicles. You'd think trained tank crews could at least fight back, especially at the relatively close range.
Us as Americans we may not want to admit it, but we’ve learned a lot of our tank tactics from the Germans from World War II got to move fast and quick. Can’t give the enemy any time to breathe.
Wonder if all those wrecked vehicles are still out there in the desert?
You probably can’t tell anymore which conflict the different wreckages are from. Gulf War, US invasion/occupation from 2003-2017, fall to ISIS, and finally the liberation from ISIS. 4 different wholesale conflicts in 30 years creates a mess of different burnt out armor.
Yes there are many

Interesting no air support. I guess it was decided the Iraqi tanks were so outclassed it was not necessary. I would not consider this to be a great tank battle as it was too one sided.

To be honest, I felt sorry for the Iraqi Army. I didn't feel that way about Suddam Hussein! I think Suddam bit off a heck of a lot more than his Army could chew. This is a great summary of how superior the Abrams tanks were compared to Russian T-55s and T-72s. That was over 20 years ago. Today, we see that a good anti-tank missile, like the Javelin, can turn a main battle tank into scrap in seconds. So we will get to see how the Russians have advanced in their anti-tank missiles in that past 20 years and if those Abrams the US are sending to Ukraine become targeted by Russian drones and turned into $8M piles of burning scrap. Same with the Leopards that Germany are sending. That would be a bad look for US technology.

Rommel was one of the few that was against the whole "Nazi" bs. he fought purely for his country and was a strategist purely out of personal want to improve. yes he did know about the holocaust and that shit but was not a direct participant in those atrocities. he defied Hitler's orders several times while in Africa. his downfall was the inevitable crawl of the giant war machine in north America. his forces could not keep supplied thus losing well over 90% of his fighting force due to attrition alone. Rommel with a 100% supplied fighting force was a near unstoppable force.
@@lasuzzoeagle1 honestly he was against hitlers regime enough that many conspiring generals wanted him to take over after they assassinated hitler. Which sadly lead to his death even though he had never agreed or wanted to do it. Hitler gave him an ultimatum to kill himself or face execution and have his family publicly denounced
Sounds like someone needs to read up more on Rommel
