i do think there's something beautiful about the fact that when highlighting who HE is, he chooses to highlight his friends and the admiration he has for them, their talents, their career, etc... it says volumes about the type of person he was, kind and humble.
You want the truth? Most LGBT people are broken. They were broken from a young age, which is why most of them seem to act child-like. And as children are, they're pure. They're in arrested development. Problem is that victims usually end up having their own victims so the cycle repeats itself. Like a virus.
Makes me so sad at the end that Nelson was so happy for 1989 but then both he and Christina died that year, it makes you realise how quickly it can call be gone. Thankful for his legacy which means he lives on forever and Christina does too
Just one minuscule example of life on this day in the 80s think about our whole history and what people went through every day of every second of Life Span it's insane

The ending made me cry. I’m so happy I stumbled across these beautiful videos from a wonderful man. I never met you but I feel I knew you R.I.P. Nelson Sullivan. ❤️😘 your alive in all that have watched your videos and all that you met in the 41 years you was alive. 💕
I love what Nelson says about New Years 1989, I was born on the 3rd of February that year, just a month and a few days later.. That made me feel really good, and sad at the time.. When he speaks about Fire Island in 1979, and what he had hoped the new decade would bring.. My early childhood was a mixed bag of great times that are marked by tragedy. By the time I was 6 in 1995 all of my mom's best and closest friend's had died of AIDS related causes.. It was terrible.. But only recently her and I were discussing the wonders of modern medicine, and how different our lives would've been if the advancements in life saving treatments had been available even 3-6 years sooner. But now AIDS is not a death sentence, AIDS is manageable and that in and of itself is a miracle. Now others like my mom and those in the position of the families of those who were afflicted, no longer have to live in limbo; They don't have to be afraid.. Just like being gay, now it is (for the most part) socially acceptable, it is a positive thing to come out and be yourself, and that's amazing. The way things changed so fast in my lifetime, I cannot believe it.. I feel like in the mere 10-15 years it took between my birth and the time I hit puberty, the whole world changed on an epic (industrial revolution) sized scale.. It's just amazing to see, the lives being saved daily, and the kids who are growing up with everything at their finger tips, and the US actually has made steps towards universal healthcare (it's sometimes unbelievable).. I genuinely believe things will only get better, no matter what the political state of our country is. We always persevere and in the end, what is right and fair and just always prevails (no matter how long it takes).. I love my country (not my gov't), we are (as a whole) good people here. And I am proud of us..
dana woolaver Oof, mah feels, ima report you for that! Only joking.😁 You’re absolutely correct, though. It’s a fucking shame, as Oscar Wilde once put it, how our country has gone from birth to decadence without civilization in between. We’re a nation of crybabies and thugs at the same time-these self-entitled, lazy, directionless, unmotivated SJW’s will whine and cry about everything not going their way and if you stand up to them, they’ll jump you with bike locks and splatter you with urine and feces. There’s no such thing as honor or self-worth or integrity with these types-though they preach socialism on one hand they’re the most selfish, greedy, lazy, and ignorant people living in our society. They’re constantly angry at those who succeed in life. A simple businessman is a criminal to them yet it’s businessmen (and women) who put the clothes on the backs of these fools, but they’re too stupid to make that connection. The best antidote for these ranting little children is to take away any platform they may have and to ignore them completely, just like you would take away a toy from a child who’s misbehaving. Let them piss and moan all they want and let it fall on deaf ears. If they cause any destruction of property, then it’s on the police to deal with them.
Nelson Sullivan you are just brilliant no other words can describe you !! If you had not passed you would of done great things in today's world, you are a time traveler in your own way I just love you ! And want to give you a big hug

Incredible how he says my life is pretty interesting and I want to share it all with you. And that there wasn't even a "you" to share it to back then, other than VHS tapes.
I like how Nelson captures picks up on small things and makes them interesting and then chronicles his friends time during the 80's, and his introductions, his relationships with them and managing to organize it so well that you feel you are watching a day in the life of Nelson Sullivan and friends and family including his dog black out, the bird store, the restaurants and clubs he frequents along with occasionally trips outside of N.Y. The most interesting of his subjects were Christina. May she RIP.
But he wouldn’t last the year. How tragic all of Nelson’s wonderful plans for the future never came to fruition. Just imagine if he’d still been around today-he’d rule RUclips and beyond.
