Thanks for sharing! Currently throwing code 420641 in my F30, just changed the pan and fluid and still getting this code. It happened after my heat exchanger failed and I got coolant into my ATF... I ran through some ISTA testing and it said "replace mechatronics", so looks like I'll be back under the car again soon.
will these solenoids cause harsh shifting between 2-3-4 gears ? been chasing a hesitation in the gear changing in my f10 550i 14’ mainly in stop and go traffic and when the transmissions cold
5 quarts ended up coming down from pan and an additional 2 quarts after mechatronics replaced, car won't shift into r or d but the parking brake engages so it tells me the solenoids are most likely working. Could it be the transmission doesn't have enough oil and I need to wait until oil reaches a temperature and then I keep refilling oil?
@JaysonFlores-d1p yes. You need to get the oil up to temp and then take fill plug out, if no fluid is coming out, put some until it comes out. Engine needs to be on for this.
@@Bondak404Correction, 3 quarts ended up coming down, and 2 additional quarts after mechatronics for a total of 5 quarters. I didn't let the engine warm up after 5min and turned off the car immediately. Technically I refilled and topped the pan but it appears I should just make sure to warm up the engine and add the remaining lost oil. ISTA is showing voltage on the solenoids but it could be that too much oil has come out and we need to pump more oil upwards. Throwing error codes in clutch A, and B so maybe there needs to be more oil pumping
@@Bondak404 Everything is ok, I used all 7 liters of oil. Waited for the trans to cool down then I checked the pan and filled some more, turn engine on follow ista and uncap and refilled at 42 to 45 c.
