the only way to make the gear is in an assembly file. However, the process of using the design accelerator to make the gear does produce separate part files. You can make just a single gear in the design accelerator though just uncheck second gear specs. this still needs to be done in an assembly file though.
Hi everyone, I have designed a spur gear on inventor. I made 2. One with 14.5 degree pa and one with 30 degree pa. Ive cut both with my cnc but they are exactly the same.i transferred the files to cad and opened them on top of each other. There is no difference in the pa. Can someone help me with this. The gear specs was. 12 dp x 54t x 14.5 degree and 30 degree. Thanks
One year late, but maybe someone will find this helpful. The model generated by the design accelerator uses a simplified geometry, so the model is not too heavy to run. In order to get the correct profile, right click the design accelerator and choose export tooth shape. This will give you a new file with the correct tooth shape.
@@2testtest2 Thank you!! The program designers must think we just draw stuff. Surprise, we actually use these wonderful and accurate programs to build things.
In 11:15 gears are spinning wrong. They supposed to rotate in opposite directions not the same.
Hi, are we able to make a set of more than 2 gears at the same time?
you cant make gear as a part? like a single gear? I get it that ultimately it will have to mesh with another gear but just out of curiosity.

Honestly the best tutorial I've seen for Inventor. Thank you
