Great talk. Can't wait for the damn wind to stop blowing 20+ daily every weekend (N. Texas) and get to work. Really enjoying the videos and insight. Thanks much !
Man Mike, what a great video! This is stuff that many of us can just take straight to the lake and try. I love your in the shop vids. Thanks for sharing so much quality info with us.
Thanks Ike ! I’m a big crank bait fisherman! I just got back into kayak tournaments with a couple local clubs here in TN. Been a few years for me and learning these lakes we fish have been tough! I’m trying to catch up an a lot of your other videos that cover all the techniques and type of baits I fish ! Keep the videos coming! Big fan Scott
I stopped and picked me up a DT6 and tied it on last night. I can't wait to get out this weekend and give it a try. I was surprised that it is a silent crank bait.
Jason Christie has some good winter river fishing videos, but I fish the Miami river a lot and they honestly don't seem to transition as drastically as lake bass. They stack up near the dams heavy in prespawn and fall other than that it's a lot of areas you would expect, current seams, bluff banks, wooded cover, creek mouths, etc.
I just installed my first HDS 12 and the preloaded map out of the box for my local lake is wicked detailed. Foundations, roadbeds, flooded timber, etc. Also definitely set the custom color depths in chart settings.. It helps tremendously to interpret the map / depth / contours much more easily.
I would give anything to be a fly on the wall of your boat to see if you do / USE what you preach....just for some accountability. The same accountability you wish from our government. Not just someone spewing for money right?!?!

Great tips Mike!
Been getting those DOD lake hogs on cranks and Mag drafts
LETS GOOOO
Question? Do you use a spinning rod with light lb line to throw the shad Rap?
Great video…..question though…..why do we tear them up with warts and rock crawlers in the Ozarks. Warts and Rock Crawlers run deeper than 6’?
Nice beard ike
What about Florida fishing with weeds? We are now entering the pre spawn, spawn and post spawn phase all at the same time.
What colors do you recommend for the crankbaits...i live in virginia and fish gaston lake
So here’s one thing I’m still trying to figure out…where do smallies like to winter on big river systems like the Ohio river?
All these pros care about are big lakes. Good luck finding your answer. I have a tough time with that myself.
@@fiendfrank my guess is dams but would never be able to confirm that

Youre starting to sound like Buck Perry, Ike.
i have upgraded my locators to a HDS12 which is preloaded with c-maps, would it do me any good to also get the navionics?
