What is wrong in being a vegetarian? Right now, vegetarian food is an important way to control global warming.
Being vegetarian is being ‘illiberal’ as TMK will probably argue, because one can actually argue anything about anything. But I would argue that being vegetarian is ‘bigotry’ against animals 😜
@@ramabapat We don't need any certificate from anyone for being free thinking liberals. Beef and Pork consumes most agricultural land for grazing or for growing cattle feed. Reducing non vegetarian food is one of the easiest methods to reduce global warming. TMK is probably too immersed in his anti brahminical non-identity politics to speak the truth about this.

Apes are not vegetarian. The issue isn't vegetarianism but rather making it a cult. Dehumanising others on the basis of what they consume rather than understanding how they came to practice whatever they do versus the dogmas that led us to practice our vegetarianism.. Global warming is a scam let's not delve to deeply into that. Overpopulation certainly is an issue. Whether we consume animals or not the number of animals would remain the same, difference being they would have better lives should we stop placing them in c camps. Be against corporate consumerism not against what the average joe is doing.

The arguements with regard to untouchability and castism is outdated when all the people are free to choose and what they want yo do. Untouchability is like shaking hand. If I dont feel untouchable nobody can make me untouchable and Ione does not need to crave touch by another person let alone another caste. Krishna is reviving untouchability by making sensational, ill conceived and ignorant statements. Alas, Krishna is not familiar or has not understood the works of Basavanna, Purandara dasa, kanaka Dasa, Guru Nanak, DV Gundappa , KV Puttappa and lastly the rights our constitution provides all its citizens to chose a life style he prefers. In short he is full of himself.
Illayaraja who comes from a non musical background has went on to create his genre of music bringing in happniess to millions. That was possible because of his love for the art. Whereas, I see TMK as a person wants to achieve something bigger but doesn't have the capacity to do that with his art that he claims doing from the age of 12. He has therefore found ways to distrupt the progress of the music ( carnatic in particular), which seem to the easy way since there is more audience on that side.

TMK looks so dead serious about his anti-Brahmanical ideology that it seems to be affecting his mental health. Caste-related problems remain because most people have limited public life even after 70 years of democracy. Communities keep to themselves and interact mostly internally and anything outside the community are just quick transactions. We have to make our youth do mandatory social projects across the length and breadth of the country and maybe also have a mandatory military service. Prejudices will dissolve with exposure and interaction.
Unfortunately, some people are hellbent on exacerbating a problem rather than pointing to solutions. Their only interest seems to be to wallow in their god-given ideology.

An artist should discuss matters that are important. Artists represent our world and the larger discourses around it. If you disagree to it that's fine. But you are not supposed to stop discussions that are important for change.
