As much as i love the 2011 adaptation, i have to say the art style could’ve been better and less bland, it seemed like the animation was aiming to achieve some tick points and that was enough for them, the backgrounds were always dead and neutral and dead colors were constantly used, In general i think the atmosphere and the vibes it gave could’ve easily been as lively and as energetic as the classic age of one piece which was from episodes 1 to 200 after which point the animation got shittier and shittier). There is ofc the argument of one piece having a more detailed(visual-wise) manga and source material but I think hunter being less detailed in its art also gives more freedom to the studio in art-style, backgrounds, colors, character designs etc. . . What im trying to say is that it was great! And im only thankful for what we got from that passionate group but it could’ve been much better. . . I honestly think HxH done by Bones will be absolute Perfection specially when we talking about the relatively visually rich dark continent panels and themes.
