Here is my institute settlement build in Vault 88. I really enjoyed the way this came out, but still have a lot to do for the fully decorated tour! I used only one mod for this called Settlement Objects Expansion Pack.

I wonder if you could use that institute build to try and replicate what the institute would look like if it was taken over by the Brotherhood, Railroad, or Minutemen instead of being blown up

There is a mod that lets you share your creations, I would be psyched if you ever did..because your work is some of the best I've ever seen. Respect dude, respect!
make a settlement and the theme should be the other fallout constructions : Lucky 38 or the citadel

What mod did you get the Institute pieces from?
To get the settlers out of the way assign all of them to guard posts by the Vault door

My first impression (so far I'm still in the hub section) is that, while you captured the essence of the Institute, it's too sharp. Nothing is rounded off, one of the key things that gives the Institute it's look. It's so iconical, that it's even mimicked in their weapons and terminals. Sure, these all-in-one desktop computers aren't too different from the pre-war counterparts, the Institute ones are more inclined (and trapezoid shaped) than boxy.
I'm sure it was a bitch to get these in the right spot, and some of that shows through, looking for a mod that gives more curved/rounded off objects would most definitely help.
Though, this is my gripe with most Institute builds. Good build though, with all the current limitations or pieces.
HYPERSHADNIC have you ever thought that mods arnt, perfect and that really isn't a possibility. Yes it is your opinion but just because it's boxy doesn't mean it it's a bad build and it has to be exactly like the institute.
Jacob Kroll I didn't say it was a bad build. I can see where I may have implied that it would be terrible if there were 1,000+ Institute building mods.
It's really good, and honestly a million times better than anything I've attempted. But the overall feel is still there. And while there are 2(?) mods with round Institute objects, this is most impressive and believable.
HYPERSHADNIC I just wanted to say that, but make sure you don't end it off with just saying what's wrong, at least give one positive comment, you might hurt someone's feelings ya know
Jacob Kroll Well, I felt as though I hit all the point. I stated my some of the flaws, sympathized (or would it be empathized?) with with why it may have been that way with a suggestion on how to fix it, and gave it praise for the good things it did.

I think it would be really cool to rebuild Sanctuary like it was before the bombs fell, but still have that post apocalyptic feel. Have the houses rebuilt, but make it highly defended from I.E. Raiders, Super Mutants, etc. I hope you get what I mean. :)

Mirlurk cake (something like that) makes you breath underwater for 30 minutes, so technically it is possible, you just need enough.
Do you use another mod to help with settlement building? I'm having great difficulty replicating much of this, especially the parts that seem clearly lifted off the ground.
this probably won't get featured but you should maybe try to do a diamond city build, or maybe a section of diamond city (remake it or something?)
I did something similar to a diamond city build. It was more of the market place instead of the whole settlement. One day I'll do a full on city build!

I like the mod that you used for this video I wish it was a little more Compact and smaller like I would love to just see what you showed just the Institute like that would be perfect a tight little Institute mod using the assets that you just showed would be great
Can institute builds be done with out mods?
you should add some trees to the center of the place like in the institute, it would give it some nice colour and just make it look better

what's mods did you use for the Institute tile set?
I was wondering, have you done a Vault 88 - Raider Town, instead of building a whole vault, use the areas to build a town. As if the Raiders found the Vault and got in it somehow, and created a town for themselves

sadly one can build many interesting settlements but empty. Soon as you get some settlers in they often walk to wall or get stuck or they dont do what they should.

Couldn't you just send over your save file? As long as the recipient has the same mods there shouldn't be a problem?

Did the settlers got trapped in the water?
It seems darker than the institute, but well done...It always made me wonder if they had some way of bringing in sunlight to the institute with how it looked like that in the main area. I know that was a lot of work...yeah, I think you gotta build up before you get settlers but you can't claim the workshop till you get settlers aka Preston there....so....even if you have it built up, they will complain, as if the place is still demolished. They will still hammer and so on....LOL

Great build. I tried your build on my XBOX1 but was unable to attach anything to the Institute Main Platform. Any advice on how to correct the lack of attachment? Yes I really like the pool mod too.
Yeah you can't snap anything to the main platform, I just built around it. It's pretty forgiving, so you can clip it though upper floors or just use place anywhere for that.

I’m currently working on an Institute Sanctuary build and I can’t find the Institute angled floor or steps in SOE, is it from a different mod or just the all dlc version?
I have SOE and dont have either the angled floors or steps. I think it must be in the all dlc version.

I didnt think it mattered which i got between ps4 and xbox1 for this gen console, seemed to be little difference between them at the time. Then I played fallout, and now I regret my loyalty to Sony. Jealous of these mods we dont have. Im not a fan of Institute styling, but build looks very nice.

Awesome video as always! Quick question - how big of a foundation do you need to be able to build the Institute Main Platform? I have been trying (unsuccessfully I might add) to even get this thing built. I am working on cleaning up Spectacle Island to give me the room that I think I will need. Is the base foundation maybe 25 x 25 or thereabouts? I do want to leave enough room to build rooms and the like surrounding it. But first - I just need to be able to build that Institute Main Platform. Thanks in advance for any tips you may be able to provide! -- Terry
I check to see the exact dimension when I get home later. The main platform is very forgiving. So you can place down one row of foundation, then place one of the ends of the main platform (lower level) on top of that row and then snap the rest of the foundation underneath it. But I'll let you know as soon as I found out the dimensions

I was finally able to build that bad boy once I cleared out Sanctuary. The platform is very cool, but I kind of liken it to a fajita - allot of work to prepare with limited payoff. The no-snapping function is definitely difficult to maneuver (as you pointed out in your video) when building around it. Might want to check out Workshop Synth Production mod - now that is really cool!

awsome bulid I'm trying my best to bulid a huge institute like as huge as I can it's takes forever thu but fallout 4 is the best game for this kind of buliding even thu you need a good powerful pc
