American pick up trucks are better than mid size pick up trucks..

American trucks are bigger, have much bigger engines and can pull much more. They unfortunately have a miserable load rating for their size, usually less than the Australian Ute's (1 tonne).
Also have a look at their axles and diff housings, like toothpicks compared to Australian models as the Aussie ones have to cope with corrugations and a smorgasbord of chassis and drive line shattering conditions.
