Thank you, finally I found how to do this special design poncho ❣️ I don’t knit, only crochet but I’ll apply your instructions to my crochet poncho💕💕 it’s stunning
So adorable! I live on the beach and have some lovely yarn that is mixed like yours in coral colors. I cannot wait to make the shrug poncho. Great idea and video. I watched the whole thing first and glad I did since there are some on the fly updates, which I love. Thank you for sharing this great idea.
Pretty, though confused since you say your knitting needle is 15 but your written pattern says 10 mm. I have some Shawl in a ball and give a try. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Patrice, it was Noro, cotton - but you can make it from any yarn of your choice - all you need to decide how wide and as you knit you need to decide how long you need it to wrap it around your shoulders. good luck 🌸
Hi Sousou, yes absolutely. If you want it "flow-y" and not too thick then use a thinner yarn (perhaps a sock yarn) and bigger hook than the one that is recommended by a manufacturer - I used bigger knitting needles with my yarn. Good luck. 🍀
Hi Bronislava I want to make for daughter she is 38 years living in U.K And my yarn is royal blue colour so how many stitches should I cast for her poncho and she is slim and tall so please reply and tell me about the stitches thankyou.
Hi Navkiran, please see my link for the written pattern in the DESCRIPTION - the pattern is on my blog with tips how to adjust size - click on SHOW MORE below this video... let me know if this helps, if not I would try to help you figure out stitches and rows
Hello again Bronislava, I haven't been able to come up with a crochet pattern . Do you think you will be doing a crochet version. Even if you cant do a video. a written pattern would be appreciated. Thank you.
Celsa, for everyone it is a little different - you need to do some measurements and a little math for your body type - see the diagram on my blog - handmade-rukodelky.blogspot.com/2017/03/knitted-poncho-shrug.html
Celsa, you need to measure from your neck area over the shoulder down your arm - that will be your width. Then only part of the entire length is going to be your opening when you need to put your head through (you need to decide how big opening you want - perhaps measure a neckline of your favorite blouse), and then I made it increasingly wider because I wanted the front "V" to be longer - that is the reason for increases. You cannot go wrong with your increases. Good luck 🍀
Bronislava 4 HandmadeRukodelky yess, thank you so much 😊 I think I’ll be ok, the measurement for the width is easy, just not very sure when to start to widen the triangle...you are so very nice to answer. But don’t want to take away your time. ✨💗❣️
Celsa, I think (I'm not 100% sure though) that I measured from arm to arm (across the chest) - so when my piece was that long I started increasing - I wanted my back bottom edge be more horizontal than in an angle
Hi Sharon, great question - yes it can be made in crochet, but I have not made any video in crochet yet. I had written tips on how to implement this shrug in other sizes in knitting, but if you know how to crochet, you could implement these tips in crochet too. Let me know, if you have any problems with that and need visual help 🍀 🌹
so if you already know what crochet stitch you want to use - and if you want it light and flow-ey (I would use some soft cotton yarn or cotton blend, preferably #3 weight yarn because crochet comes out thicker), use a stitch that has a lacy feel. You could also put together a large paper (sometime the taped yo newspaper works well) and draw the graph according to your measurements and then take it from there.. I did increases every 10 rows which was about every 4" (or ~10 cm) so you could do the same, but your number of rows would be different... use really big hook too, that will make it look very airy and flow-ey ... hope this helps - also you will need more yarn - crochet uses more yarn

Hi Sylvia - 10 mm = US size #15
What cotton did you use? It’s beautiful! Love the colors❤
It’s a cotton from Noro yarn - see if there is a link to my blog below the video
What kind of yarn are you working with? Thank you.
Hi Patrice, it was Noro, cotton - but you can make it from any yarn of your choice - all you need to decide how wide and as you knit you need to decide how long you need it to wrap it around your shoulders. good luck 🌸

Hi thank you for this pattern I love it but I'm not a knitter so I'm asking you if I can make the same pattern with crochet ;)

How many balls of yarns does this need? Thanks.
if you are a small size you may get away with one ball of about 300 yards of yarn, otherwise get 2 balls
What is the measurements of the widest part?
Celsa, for everyone it is a little different - you need to do some measurements and a little math for your body type - see the diagram on my blog - handmade-rukodelky.blogspot.com/2017/03/knitted-poncho-shrug.html
Bronislava 4 HandmadeRukodelky 🤩 I did see it. Thank you, will try figure it out as I go ❣️

hello Bronislava, I see at the beginning of your video the chart shows it can be done in crochet. Where can I get the crochet pattern from ?

Thanks so much for your reply. I was thinking I would just make sure my dimensions match yours if I crochet the poncho.
so if you already know what crochet stitch you want to use - and if you want it light and flow-ey (I would use some soft cotton yarn or cotton blend, preferably #3 weight yarn because crochet comes out thicker), use a stitch that has a lacy feel. Thanks for your help Bronislava.
I will email you today. Thanks
