Its such a niche game... No one ever knows about it but if ya meet someone who did play it its probably a core memory. Esp if like me you were lucky and had a good friend who owned it that you spent hours playing this with... Love this. I just watched a longplay of barts nightmare for the snes and now im here lol...
Thanks for this video. I'm putting it as background music while I work, and sometimes I take a look at the video, and it's nice to see both characters at once doing their stuff. Those pulsing letters in the text are great :)
Falling off the edges, using school books when the cupid is hovering over you, getting lost and not using super hip tops when you were miles away from the lift. I'm thinking these players needed some more practice lol
@@pawelinferno6767 - The School Books are definitely bad since they put you to sleep and leave you open to enemy attacks. Other bad gifts include: The Total Bummer (instant death by taser) Rain Cloud (randomly shoots bolts that electrocute you) Poisonous Food (take damage) Earthling (most of the time it will teleport the evil ones to you, rarely does it teleport the good ones) Tomato Rain (50/50 present, if lucky, it will land on your enemies, but you must be on the alert so it doesn't land on you) and the worst of all, THE RANDOMIZER!!! (do I even need to explain this one?)
You two are complete morons that were lucky to make it to the end (especially the Toejam player), with your recklessness opening unidentified presents that resulted in THREE RANDOMIZERS opened up! Not to mention opening up bad presents like the School Books and Rain Clouds rather than getting rid of them. And 6th letter 21st letter 3rd letter 11th letter both of you for cutting off the ending, especially after all the stupid shit you two did throughout this slog of a playthrough!
I think GamePro magazine said it best: "Once you open all the presents up, some of the excitement kind of fades." Also, Toejam's speed makes him the better character. What good is extra vitality (Earl) when assholes like the Lawnmower Men and Boogie Men can wipe you out in seconds thanks to NO TEMPORARY INVINCIBILITY after getting hit?
i feel like it's kind of upsetting how I never actually played this game. It probably would have confused the crap out of kid me, but I was familiar with the characters and vibe of the game, and yet never found it in my local video stores. It might have made for some funktastic memories.
I was thinking these days... after 20 years! what was the name of this game, which was one of my favorites from my childhood. so i googled "the name of the game for megadrive with 2 aliens" and i finally found! ho so nostalgia!!!
It was fun when you were a kid with a friend and just enjoying the funkiness and stupidity. There is a reason I never beat the game. It gets boring fast, still love it though.
@@fizzbrew - And the enemies are cheap bastards thanks to the stupidity of NO TEMPORARY INVINCIBILITY after you get hit (except for the Phantom Ice Cream Truck, Hamsters in Balls and Nerd Clique), respawn, and land on the ground! The Lawnmower Men and Boogie Men are the worst offenders.

Used to play this constantly with my brother when we were kids - this and Mega Bomberman 2-player. Being a kid in the 90s was the best.
This is soooooo Amazing. ...I played this game as a child. It was 🔥... looking at it now is so Nostalgia! 🥰
This is the first time I've seen this game played well!👍
Used to rent this game all the time..the 90's were the best...still love this game.
Prime decade for video games.
such epic soundtrack
From 1:10:05 to 1:10:50 , this minute sums up so many of my games... magic.
I always thought that lift sounded like something from an old 70s Atari game
9:50 - awesome, the decision collectively to go to level zero
"Whoo alright!"---favorite line lol.
*"MONEY!"* 💸

Love this game and miss it

There was any real use for the School Books? Or they are just a bad gift like the Total Bummer?

I agree. a lot of rookie mistakes here, but they still pulled it off.
Thanks for the comments, more Toejam & Earl to come soon!
Where?
Are you going to post videos of Back in the Groove?

29:19 haha I didn't know about Santa Claus. Nice!
Early Split screen FTW
You missed the present island on level 1. Always gotta go there first then to level 0.

Made in 2013 yet got 59 likes. Wow
Honestly can’t figure out what is so fun. Looks like slowly walking around collecting some stuff.

Just not a fan at all. I like action rpg with platform elements as well. The mini has better games on it like Shining Force and Light Crusader.
