  • Windshield Tint Strip, Windshield visor, visor strip, banner, eyebrow, sun strip so many names but in this video I go over how I get them installed. Tint strip on windshields are very popular in my area. The visor tin/banners definitely help keep the sun out of your eyes. I do a lot of tint strips/ sun visors being up in truck country Central and NE Wisconsin. I love my full windshields but these are very popular as well.

    Is that offered with some sort of gradient or fade, where it's lighter at the bottom of the strip and gets darker towards the top, so it blends in better with the clear part of the windshield?

    What brand tint do you use? I wanna attempt to do an install on my own and don’t wanna get a tiny that’s gonna turn purple in a year lol. Also what percent would you recommend for a full windshield enough to help with sun but not to affect too much at night I’m gonna put a visor on as we’ll prob 5 percent over whatever the rest of the windshield is

    When laying the film across, did u alter the film in anyway before hand? Or did you simply lay it across n let the film simply curve to the window?

    • @FadeToBlackLLC
      @FadeToBlackLLC  4 года назад +1

      If you notice I do what's called the "H" pattern. Straight line across the middle and then make vertical bars to get the film to stick.
      Most of my windshield or back glass videos I try to show that.
      You have to have it tacked down to give yourself a starting point when shrinking.

    • @LeeTxai
      @LeeTxai 4 года назад +1

      Gotcha, another question. When doing the brows or visors. Does that curve just come naturally from laying the straight edge of the film down. Or did you do something to make the film lay straight across? Hopefully I'm making sense lol

    Do you have any vids on how to install tint over the dot matrix? I just tinted the windows on my 2019 Camaro SS, and no matter how good I scrubbed the defrost grid, and dot matrix, the tint refused to stick. The main rear window looks great, but the border leaves a lot to be desired. Thanks

    • @FadeToBlackLLC
      @FadeToBlackLLC  5 лет назад

      No, the Dot Matrix is always a problem. Most of the time I just tell my customers they are just how windows are made and we all battle with those things. Unless it's a large area like on some Ford Fusions we just tint as normal and kinda hope for the best. Some sand or use glue but not on the windows with the small line matrix. It's just one of those things unfortunately.

      My back window is blurry - 20%. I got it done Thursday. Is it anything I can do to make it clearer? I've been parking in direct sunlight.

    You do very nice work but I wish you would over up the dashboard while you do this tint.

      From doing this so long I’ve never had an issue with a little over spray getting on the dash. Most of the time it leaves cleaner than when it came into my shop.
      If I’m doing a full windshield I’ll for sure cover the dashboard. Jeeps you cover right away as well.
