    I think the concept is awesome, and if you have a need for a lift in the garage its a legit option. I have a few storage bins in the garage and think I would rather have 1000$ than anything in the bin. For wheels and tires its great, as a way to display ~15k in bikes its also pretty awesome

    Two Steady Racks mounted on that same wall would be ~$160? They would take up less room than this rack. This system is $1000 + $600 for the rack. Granted, this would be more useful for the cargo tray side of things, but for the bike rack situation, it makes no sense. You would need to get a second rack to put on your vehicle (for another $600 cuz it has to be OG spec). There is no way you are going to want to unmount the bikes, then mount the rack on the truck, then remount the bikes every time you go for a ride and then repeat when you return home? Yes, I understand he is trying to showcase a new product and show how it works, but it as a bike storage rack, I do not see the utility. Doesnt seem like the kickstarter was all that popular either with only 49 backers?

      its a 12k$ bike over a 120k Porsche, 1600 seems trivial for storage :).
      Actually I disagree on the two racks piece. Whether you own one or two racks you still need to remove a bike from a rack and put a bike on a rack. Who wants to drive around with an empty rack on their car? Where do you store the second rack? I would use this as an opportunity to store my bikes AND my bike rack!

      @@improvedgarage Where I live, racks live on cars almost year round. Most people are using them frequently enough, that taking them on and off the car each time they are needed would be very inconvenient. I guess it depends on how often you use your rack. 1UP sells a pretty nice wall mount for your rack when you arent using it. Thats where I put my rack on the occasions when it needs to be removed. If you use something like the Steady Rack for the bikes in the garage, un mounting takes seconds. It would probably take less than 5 mins to take a bike off a Steady Rack, and mount the bike to a 1UP rack already on the car. Safely and securely installing a 1UP does take some time, and I cant imagine having to do it each time I go for a ride.
      Again, I do think it does depend on how often the rack is used.

      @@stephenleach4808 I guess that makes sense. My rack is never on my car unless I’m using it. In the mean time I need a place to store it.
      My bikes hang from the ceiling because a steady rack would make it so you can’t park 3 cars in my 3 car garage.. there just isn’t enough room in modern garages.. so my bikes are on a 10’ ceiling and my wife can’t get them down they are just too high and too heavy for her to manage. This would be awesome because I could park under it and my wife could load and unload it for the kids. I have 10’ ceilings, but only about 18” of space between the cars and the walls in my 3 car

    Where the horizontal uno-strut not meant for 2 studs? 16 in apart? You could bolt left side on left stud and right side on right stud. Also help share the load on two studs instead of one. Would also be centered on the wall? Not sure if that system needed bolts down the center Chanel. If so just block the wall! Hahaha.
    Also the stud joke was epic! 👍😏

    • @topshelfstoragesolutions4497
      @topshelfstoragesolutions4497 2 года назад +1

      Thanks for the comment, the system only needs one stud to hold it...The horizontal channels maintains stability at the top and bottom and keeps the channel from twisting when the load moves up the wall. The channels at the top and bottom are designed to bolt into the top and bottom sill plates.
