The more I mature as a Slayer fan, the more I appreciate this album
Correct!
This album was released 9-11-2001. Tom Ayara was asked if he thought this was proof that god hates us. He replied “well, certainly some one does”.
WOW. Don't tell them the facts. I bought it on that day. School let us leave early. And the boys hit the record store. Back when you had to go to stores.
Tom Ayara is catholic
I remember that. I went out to the local mall having zero clue what was going on that day and walked into the music shop to see everyone huddled around a TV totally transfixed and up I walk with god hates us all in my hand and ask "what movie is that?" to get told its not a movie someone just flew a plane into tower one. I looked down at the CD in my hand and thought well fuck ain't that shit right.
No shit? That's crazy.
@@DigitalBath306 that means that he knows what he said. ;-)
God Hates us All is the angriest Slayer album in my opinion. Is not the heaviest, is not the fastest, is not the most technical but damn, it's totally driven by sheer hatred and anger.
I absolutely love it

You do realise it's all from the perspective of the establishment
Not how they feel .
They aren't Satan whirshipers
They're just 3rd personing with Klaus skab
If only love was has contagious as hate 🤔😄
You know what fills me with hatred and anger? A youtube ad coming in between the intro track and the first proper song.
I am a die-hard Christian, and I fkn love this album !
It’s 2023 whose still jamming ?!😈🤟🏽
Didn't they just retire on thier last tour lol
@@andrewweber9930Kerry king has a new band named Kerry King coming out soon but yea Slayer is retired.

It has only become more relevant.
Give the Lyrics of all Slayer music a thorough listen.
They were warning for something.
I'm 40 now and listening to it again, listended to the album when it launched, one thing about slayer is no matter what religion you are, slayer represented all you're hatred and frustrations, damn it sounds so good at 2023 too, hell yeah
I love Christian music lol
Played this for my friend when we were both 12... he's still to this day a devout Christian. He became a pastor at 22. We still talk and I still consider him a close friend.
Jajajajajaja
Believe it stories?
Then listen to Marduk or Gorgoroth
At Walmart they had us stock lamb of god in the Christian section lol
Slayer is one of the few who has albums where every single song is a banger
The other one being Judas Priest with Painkiller

I agree, the above listed albums are great, but all of Slayer's albums, every single one, has an amazing song list....Tom's voice is, I dare say, better for metal than Rob Halford's...as much as I love Rob's...Tom's screams are brutal and serrating.
One of the most relentless, punishing and SPECTACULAR headbangin' beasts of an album. My first Slayer disc-after seeing the video for bloodlines, I was an instant fan. Not only is this release heavy and crushing, with savage vocal delivery, it does all this while still being distinct. All the elements of the band are clear. No mush, no trouble hearing the lyrics...just...awesome.
There best album they have done in my opinion….masterpiece 👌
I saw them a lot. But on this tour, the lights go off and Darkness Of Christ was played through the PA with them then opening with Disciple. It was one of the best openings I ever saw of any band. The brutality of this album had me jaw-dropped for months. Constantly playing it.
Epic. Glad your a fan. Welcome to the dark side with no return. Better late then never
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The most biting lyrical/guitar mashup since angel of death. Definitely the album that defined a generation.
Slayer isn't evil we are
Am i evil? I am man
Slayer promotes Antichristian themes..........which is in line with the chicken swingers so yes they are doing the work of the devil............helping us along to our genocide.

The best Slayer album since the 2000's. Don't care what purists say, Bostaph era has many great songs.

I have been a Slayer fan since the very beginning I am 55 now and none of their music gets old the band will always be my favorite til I die even though they are no longer I don't give up on hoping Kerry King and his new project he is working on is going to be a duplicate of Slayer and beyond. Bring in the violence I love it. This band and their music has helped me through the darkest of times.
Slayer has always had excellent social commentaries- one of the best: "This is where the world of money changes nothing."
"I keep the bible in a pool of blood so that none of its lies can affect me" is my favourite ❤
Masterpiece from head to bottom
Well stated.
Buy this.

Man, wish I could go back to 2001 and hear this album for the first time again. I mean- as if beginning with "Disciple" was not enough, it's followed up with 'God sends death" - two of my favourite Slayer songs of all time. Legendary album.
I saw them on this one at the Orbit Room in Grand Rapids Mi. I was right in front of Jeff. The lights came on for a sec. and I spotted a pick and asked a security guy to give it to me. He did. Some girl bit me on the back because I would not let her in my spot. She did not do to good. You are packed in so tight you must pull your arms up and down yourself. At the end, Jeff shook his head yes, which I took as he had a good show. I had my old Slaytanic Wehrmacht shirt on. He grabbed a handfull of picks and threw them at my head basically. So I got 2. RIP Jeff. Thank you Slayer for your ass kicking, tell it like it is, great music. It made my life better. SLAYER!!!!
I can only imagine, someone putting on this album on release day, switching on the TV, and seeing the goddamn towers crumbling.
must've been an absolutely religious experience
Slayer must be the most sober band ever because when someone said "Slayer can't make a bad ass album" they said "hold my beer" and have been making bad ass albums for over 30 years. This is my favorite just like all the others.
This took me a sec but I see what you did there😉
Yeah, that´s right. They are so good.
You don't need Viagra if you're a metalhead. Just another dose of slayer
Something about a dose of two.

Holy f, haven’t listened to this in years. It’s even better than I remember, and I always liked it. So clean! The toms are huge and the bass drums are super full with a modest click, very tasteful!
When this came out.. it was the most fkd up day of my life, and I could not stop playing that intro track- thought they predicted the end for sure

Most brutal slayer album ever. Even with bloodline on it!
Bloodline is a banger
@Hubert Sosnowski take a good listen at South Of Heaven´s vocals, it´s the most melodical, clean and soft vocals he ever made.
@Hubert Sosnowski same here hehe
Agreed!! Each offering in the Lombardo era built up to Reign in Blood. That put them on course to create South of Heaven and Seasons in the Abyss.
Enter Paul Bostaph.
The next build up begins with Devine intervention, *Undisputed Attitude -(one of my favorite Slayer albums and the best punk has ever sounded imo! Just brutal! ) Diobolus in Musica and then here we arrive at their second peak and I agree their heaviest most brutal offering ever *God's Hates us All!!! This album literally changed my life. Enter Dave and they do it again with excellent material then.......well, ya'll know the rest so I'll spare us the grieving.

2022/09/11. i can only imagine hearing the intro to the album while seeing the plane hit the tower. my favourite album of slayer. seen them 7 times.

@@palainanoctem3776 Damn dude I'm impressed!!! I thought I was up there with 28 SLAYER shows.
1slayer 2 pantera 3 slipknot 4 gojira
Yeah, I found out about the attacks after showing up to find out work was cancelled w/o explanation, and since I could only get GHUA on CD (despite not owning a CD player yet), I had to use my roommates' DVD player to even listen to it. So I loaded it, then turned on the T.V. to warm it up- just to hear "...there goes the second tower!!", which made me think "I didn't load 'Fight Club', what's going on?" I seen 'em 'bout 7 times, also. That year I saw 'em in Albuquerque.
Going to a Slayer concert is what I prefer to call the Slayer experience. Because its not just a concert, its a unique experience.

It's strange... I don't really remember listening to this album and vaguely recall the cover art but somehow know most of the lyrics. There's just something comforting about hearing these songs again. On a similar note, I recently learned that I attended my aunt's 50th birthday party, 25 years ago!
This is the censored cover, the original artwork is a bible with bloody nails
Slayer never leaves the veins brotha !
I was looking forward to this album. I had to wait a few years to drain the hate and hurt from 9-11 to finally listen. Things were too intense.
I love 80s Slayer but man this is their darkest and most aggressive record. It sounds raw and violent as fuck and Tom's vocal never sounded as pissed off in any other record if we compare them.
Actual perfect album. I remember the first time I heard this in middle school, I had renounced 80's metal. I thought I was really progressive when it came to music, listening to avant-garde and post hardcore and Behold...The Arctopus and Psyopus and every opus, but when I heard this I was like okay, I need to humble myself and rewind.

Heavy is not in how low you tune your guitar, how guttural the voice or how much fuzz your pedal and amp makes. Its this.! Pure effing good songwriting that makes shit heavy !
Sure, the songwriting is a big part of it, but would Slayer still be heavy if they tuned to E standard, used a clean guitar tone, and Tom Araya did clean singing?
