They were un-burstable, I don't think we'd ever seen a road bike that revved like it.

I still have my SS125 Honda , owned it since new , bought it March 1970. only thing you have to watch are the exhaust / silencer units . they rot out and are impossible for the correct replacements .. . Some other parts can be tricky too. Great little bike .

I bought a rusty, locked up CL125A scrambler version of this bike from a salvage yard a few years back and transplanted a CD175 engine into it that came from a swap meet for not a lot of cash. If the frames look the same that’s because they are but for the location of one of the top engine mount bolt holes. A couple of minutes with a drill and the engine can go right in. I also swapped in a 5-speed transmission from a CL175 into mine and now have a one of none “CS175”.

I had an identical one "back in the day". Lovely li'l bike & although I'm too big for it nowadays, it'd be a good classic bike to own.
    Eventually swapped out the SS125 for a Yamaha AS3 (125 2-stroke twin) & then I bought a new RD350 in 1974. Happy days!

Peter, I finally bought a CWC after watching your videos for so long. I always wanted before as well but, seeing yours sealed the deal. Got the Mellor-72
Have work in the UK and tried my best to make it to you guys but, won’t be possible this time. Love your videos, best regards from India!

Mine is a 92 MOD issue , so squaddie proof and I have worn it for work for the past 12 years or so. It even went with me when I went to India .

In 1970 the year that this little jewel was made, I bought my first house at Epping Green in Essex, for £2500 and I swapped an electric cooker for a Honda 125 SS just like this one, with a broken engine. I fixed the engine and used the bike for commuting to and from work, and eventually sold it on for forty five quid. The house which cost me £2500 which is almost what Andy Tiernan is asking for the Honda, is now worth £400,000 and is exactly at it was when I bought it. This shows how much the pound used to be worth compared to today.
