I consider the Captain Underpants books to be the kids version of South Park. On the surface, they both seem just crude and offensive, but beneath the surface, they’re quite smartly written.
icecream hero "it may be a little funny" plus I'm pretty sure you haven't seen an episode of family guy beyond season 5 if you think those criticisms aren't hypocritical against the show.
Ahh, classic. People get mad for 2018 cartoons referencing memes because that's a (failed) attent to be hip and relevant, but they don't get mad for people using "memes" of an ugly and innapropite mashup of Peach and whatever character they use and that's also a (failed) attent to be hip and relevant.
Hey Nick! I'm an animator on Mega Man: Fully Charged and I just wanted to say thank you for reviewing the show and giving it your recommendations! ^^ I often watch your videos while working, so it was a nice surprise to see the show pop up on this list. :)
This comment means the world to me. I enjoy the look of Fully Charged a lot and have become more and more on board with it as it’s gone along. I wish the best for you and the rest of the team working on the show and thank you for watching! I’m glad my content has had this kind of influence.
SnookumsGal | I'm guessing you get a lot of questions and you can't answer all of them, but did you make the pixel art sprites for the transformation sequences and stuff like that?
I agree but CN, Nickelodeon, and Disney Channel are losing sight of that. Did you know most of the greatest cartoons were assembled by members of a team. The creator of Gravity Falls, and the one of Steven Universe were also on that team. CN is getting better though, and seems more promising

RiderNexus Star Wars fans don't hate Star Wars. They hate poorly written garbage, nonsensical characters and political agendas shoehorned into literally everything.
CronoDyne Okay, but every Star Wars trilogy had Political Agendas The Prequels: Palpatine was an allegory of George Bush The Original Trilogy: The whole trilogy was an allegory of the Cold War
In regards to Big Hero 6, I don't think it needs to be totally silly or totally serious. I like that it has a mix, it makes it feel a bit more realistic as life isn't 100% serious nor silly.
Really glad that you decided to give Mega Man Fully Charged a chance instead of mindlessly hating on it like everyone seems to. I've enjoyed it so far but I agree that the pacing is really slow, especially when it comes to the overarching story.
Captain B. Z. Watch the D-Pad’s commentary on the show. They started off confused by the show but kept watching and ended up enjoying the heck out of it. They also (try to) stay up to date with the episodes.
The show started off a bit shakey but most megaman media has that problem especially when it's a new series. The only one that hit the ground running was X. Overall it grew in to something great. Something that stands above all the other megaman cartoons ( not counting the X OVA)
Let's be clear. A lot of people are not "Mindlessly hating on it" I don't think it's terrible. but it's not good. It's like.. A solid 5-6/10, on the high side of average. That does however not mean that people can/should not enjoy it.
I think it's more that expressiveness is in, and as a result the detail of the art style or the flow of the animation was sacrificed. Honestly I prefer the first. Sure having detailed art looks good in still frames, but if it looks like ass in motion it's really distracting.
Philweasel There are shows with really expressive animation and really fluid movement. The choppy animation of these shows is the sign of a low budget.
@@DementedDuskull Well yes. But not everything can have that sort of time and money flung at it. Time is also a factor. Gravity Falls took FOREVER to make. It took years to put out just two series', and it didn't always look great even then. And I'm fairly sure only Disney had the budget to spend that much money on TV animation (I notice that Ducktales cuts quite a few more corners). No one is dumb enough to spent a fortune on a niche or untested title. Steven Universe, She-Ra... looking a little cheap is the price you pay for a show that wants to be a bit quirky. Note how Disenchantment and Final Space are two of the most high budget on this list? I'm pretty sure that's because the backers thought "Simpsons" and "Rick and Morty" (even though both comparisons are inaccurate and unhelpful) and wanted a bit of that sweet, sweet cash. The only thing Masters of the Universe brings to mind is financial failure.
I agree it has become one of my new favorite Disney channel cartoons of all time! The stories are a whole lot of fun, the main characters are very likable, funny, and charming, the side characters are all hilariously stupid, and Tilly might be one of my favorite weirdo siblings characters in an animated series everything she says and does is just gold and she's so delightfully weird and creepy that I can't help but crack a smile when ever she's on screen! This show is very underrated and really deserves a lot more attention as much as the other modern cartoons!
Big City Greens is probably my favorite new cartoon since Gravity Falls, which is my favorite cartoon of all time. The two shows have nothing in common, yet Big City Greens somehow still manages to capture the same kind of heart that Gravity Falls was unafraid to wear on its sleeve. I just like these characters so darn much.
I agree with you it is one of my new favorite Disney channel cartoons and I really love all the characters in this show especially Tilly who I think might be one of my favorites so far in the show
Disenchantment has a lot of potential still for me. The first season has a great cast, Matt Berry without a doubt being the highlight of the whole show. It has some beautiful bits of animation and a great style that sets it apart from Matt Groening’s other shows while still clearly being one of his. I even liked the story in the last couple of episodes. My favourite episode was probably the Hansel and Gretel one, it was brutal and I hope they work in more reimagined fairytales. Unfortunately it does try to force that Elfo and Bean relationship down the viewers throat. Plus while I do enjoy the last two episodes for the overarching story... it was barley even there before those episodes, making it not nearly as dramatic and epic as it could’ve and should’ve been. The worst problem with most Netflix shows for me is they give shows that don’t need it a ridiculous amount of runtime. Sometimes writers having restrictions is a good thing as it forces them to make their writing compact. Overall I like the show, I hope it just drops the relationship stuff and goes more into using the overarching plot, I feel like it’d definitely help it differentiate itself from the other Groening shows. Unfortunately I don’t know if it can reduce it’s runtime, that seems like a general Netflix issue. I look forward to seeing the next season though.
I didn't have an issue with the lack of overarching plot elements prior to episode 8 as much as I did episode 6. Just episode 6 in general. And all three of Groenings shows have had somewhat rocky starts.
+Jack Willan I fully agree with everything you've said, I thought I wasn't going to like it at first until I finally watched it and ended up liking it. I think it does have potential & so far I think it's pretty Decent at Best. +IceCream Hero I simply disagree that it's an "Abomination" to me I thought it was somewhat disappointing in some areas, as for the jokes I can actually somewhat agree to that because I think the jokes are a mix bag in my perspective, and as for characters I actually agree with that but looking at Elfo he's a mix of Fry & Zoiberg in terms of personality so I think that's okay just to experiment with as for others I can't say the same for them.
The only think I feel that was missing from the show was a dedicated strightman character. Elfo was ment to be that chracter but ended up getting folded up in the debauchery
I really love Craig of the Creek; to me, it's like a combo of Recess and the Stick of Truth South Park game. I am also in love with Hilda (the series,) it does the blending of fantasy and reality in all the right ways; with neither one completely overshadowing the other. One of the best things about it is that it doesn't go with the "humans are oblivious to the existence of magic" trope we've seen thousands of times. Here, everyone is aware of the existence of magical creatures and sorcery. But has managed to integrate their society along with theirs just right. The Big Hero 6 series is ALSO really great and an excellent continuation of the original movie. On the off-hand chance we don't get a sequel, that is. Unfortunately; with Stan Lee's tragic death, how will the show or the possible sequel deal with the character of Fred's dad? Total Drama-rama is...okay, not bad just...okay. While I still feel the Total Drama franchise has overstayed its welcome. With this show; Chef is more likeable, characters like Noah and Courtney are more likable and it actually has some charm. While Rick & Morty's adventures left me bored or hating Nihilists with a passion. Shows like Futurama or in this example's case, Final Space, takes the sci-fi genre and actually makes it entertaining for me. I love Olan's voice as Gary, Hugh is ridiculously funny and the overall series is just so fun to watch. Because of Gary; I now say "oh, my crap" whenever something goes awry.
I agree Big City Greens has officially become one of my new favorite Disney channel cartoons of all time! When I first heard about this show from Vailskibum94 I was honestly not very interested seeing it at first even when it started airing in my country I was still not interested but one day when there was nothing on tv I decided to watch a few episodes of it and after watching more and more episodes I immediately fell in love with this show! I agree this show is very underrated as I hear absolutely no one online talking about it and I really think it does deserves a lot more love and attention as much as the other cartoons of this decade!
Nonono. This Is The Real Ones Best: Big Hero 6 The Series Easily The Best Adaptation. (There Wasn't Much Competition) Worst: Kid Danger. Best Video Of 2018 ***** Lasanga Worst: YT Rewind.
"Classic, early-to-mid 2000s team action show" Speaking of that, I don't know if you've seen Netflix's Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters, but it hits that note to a T. It's co-created by Victor Cook from The Spectacular Spider-Man and it has some of the same cast and crew members from that show, as well as other industry veterans. It's incredibly underrated and probably the best superhero show out there, at least until Young Justice comes back next month.
If you never really watched Total Drama, why do you think the franchise should have died 6 years ago? Why does it bother you that it went on longer than that? If people like it, let them have their fun and enjoy the show for as long as it lasts.
This is something that usually pisses me off with cartoon reviewers. They haven't seen the show yet somehow they're allowed to criticize it in some way or another. To give Mr. Enter and especially Vailskibum94 credit, they at least watched the first 3 seasons which gives them a valid pass to praise or criticize those seasons. Granted Mr. Enter's criticisms for the remaining seasons were invalid and misinformed but at least he watched the show. I'm starting to realize why I don't watch NICKtendo that much.
@Unicorn Bunny He said he never watched Total Drama so him saying "the franchise should have ended six years ago" is very dishonest. How can you say that when you haven't watched it? It's clear that he's following the popular opinion.
I wonder if Hilda will be able to rival Gravity Falls. I've already heard some people say they liked Hilda more so far. Guess we'll have to see in season 2.
i get that they're both supernatural, but Hilda and GF have VERY different tones and are targeted at different ages, so i don't see any merit in comparing them
How would you feel about a Diddy Kong Racing sequel that added characters from My Hero Academia, Little Witch Academia, Kirby, The Amazing World of Gumball, **Persona 5,** Family Guy, Sonic, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Digimon Tamers, The Simpsons, Invader Zim, Crash Bandicoot and RWBY with Haruko from FLCL, Hat Kid, Popuko and Pipmi from Pop Team Epic, Bomberman, Doom Slayer, Beavis and Butthead also being there? Kirby gets pushed as a second Protagonist to go along with Diddy Kong. Imagine racing against Akko with Izuku, shooting a missile at Gumball, Gumball, Izuku, and Akko smoking pot with their friends, throwing an oil slick at Ren, Ryuji using a bat to knock opponents sideways, Ann using her whip to whip a nearby rival, Yusuke asking Momo if she’d be painted nude, Fregley putting his foot in his mouth to distract the other drivers so they can crash, Futaba showing everyone rule 34, Makoto dodging bombs that Bomberman planted on the race track, etc.
You seemed to imply that Star Wars the Clone Wars was as trope filled and predictable as Resistance. I have to whole heartedly disagree. The Clone Wars's characters and plot are nowhere near formulaic. There was never a single "want to be pilot" who gets in over his head. Clone Wars takes place during a total war. Almost every episode is devoted to exploring this brutal conflict. They look at the frontline, the politics, the neutral parties, terrorist factions, the economics and the military industrial complex. They deal with very serious and real issues like suicide bombing, war profiteering, government coups, and terrorism. It is not at all fair to call the episodes inconsequential when they will kill off major characters that have appeared since the first season and have military developments that impact the plot and characters going forward. It is not at all fair to call the show light hearted when character are literally committing suicide on screen, decapitating people will lightsabers, and brutally showing the frontline of a war with all the death, gore, and weaponized warfare it entails. In it's current state, Star Wars Resistance is nothing like Star Wars the Clone wars.
@@unicornbunny5439 I can't tell if your are joking or not my dude. But if you are legitimately surprised just check out this clip of a brutal fight scene where two guys fight for the right to be declared leader of a planet: ruclips.net/video/nE1Cv7lM0YA/видео.html
hello there obi wan my dude, I think you misunderstood. What I meant was that because The Clone Wars and Resistance share a lot of the same story and production staff, they're going to feel very similar. That's just the truth. They clearly have different tones and goals, but they approach animated Star Wars similarly.
@@NICKtendoReviews I truly do appreciate the response but I will still have to respectfully disagree. The stories are fundamentally not the same. The Clone Wars takes place during an active war. Both parties (the Republic and Separatists) are already in a content state of war. Resistance observes the rise of a new evil power that it rising to challenge the New Republic but are not in an active state of war. Those are fundamentally different premises and result in fundamentally different stories. This is to say nothing of the characters and story structures. Clone Wars followed different Jedi, politicians, droids, clones, and even bounty hunters in literally dozens of different story arcs exploring everything from war to terrorism in settings across hundreds of different planets. Resistance follows a small group of pilots and mechanics who chiefly operate from a single base. Their stories are much more episodic, simplistic, and centralized. Thematically the shows are also extremely different. The Clone Wars spent many episodes discussing the Force (which is a metaphor for morality) and accordingly explores morality in war. The concept of the Force had a huge impact on the Clone Wars's story as reflected by at least 20 different Force user characters who play critical roles in the stories. Resistance does not have any Force Users and is not in a state of war. They will not be exploring the Force or the morality of war any time soon. Based on all of this it is clear that the shows take extremely different approaches to story, settings, characters, and story structure. Finally, you are incorrect about the show sharing their production staffs. I did a quick google search and the only major person who worked on both shows is Dave Filoni. Mind you that Dave Filoni was a writer for Clone Wars but only the executive producer for Resistance. This makes sense as the Clone Wars literally came out 10 years before Resistance and you cannot expect there to be that much overlap over a decade. Besides Filoni, none of executive producers, writers, or composers are the same. Driving forces behind Clone Wars like George Lucas and Catherine Winder have not even touched Resistance.
@@BadOmen_-nl8sz That's why I'm here! (I also don't think NICKtendo took kindly to my response because he previously hearted my original comment but now now he removed it! ;-)
I agree! I actually liked Disenchantment even before the last few episodes... Of course, it's not the best show, but as long as you're not expecting the next Futurama, it's an enjoyable series where you can both feel for the characters and not take things too seriously.
I gotta disagree with you on Rise of the TMNT. It's just the goofball action nonsense we need with all these other animated shows trying to be "serious".
@@billcipher2604 Which was a terrible adaptation of the original comic which had actual stakes, characters learning and growing, and even some really cool stuff we will never see brought to the screen such as Raphael becoming the Shredder, the battle damage carried over from previous issues (including the loss of fingers/toes and in one case an eye) and so on.
Greg Sanders Yeah, of course, it was different and more serious. What i'm saying is that not every reboot needs to have the same kind of story, and this version has a more lightharted tone like the 80's cartoon (and that doesn't make it worse, just different)
Craig of the Creek is probably the best new CN show from 2018 imo. I remember seeing the first few episodes and thinking, "Huh. This really reminds me of when I lived in Maryland. I kinda like it." Then they got to the episode where the cicadas were flying everywhere and leaving those freaky shells behind and it was confirmed that the setting actually was Maryland. It's funny because everything the cast did within the creek behind their houses was eerily similar to my experience with the creek behind MY house. I would hang out with my neighbors back there, and we would explore, build forts, jump on a trampoline, have nerf wars... There was even a full scale war once with the neighboring community, where we swung giant sticks and toy swords tipped with thick enough layers of duck tape to leave a bruise. I remember I even found a big red couch that someone had just dumped out there for whatever reason. It's honestly kinda creepy how much nostalgia this show brings me, despite me having lived there for only a year.
WOY has to be my top favorite cartoon of all time. I really wish we could've gotten the third season to know more about backstories and develop characters some more. Also we need to see what Dominator's doing now that everything she owned blew up and she's left to wander space in an orbble...that will pop sooner or later. (I actually came here from "top 9 saddest WOY moments")
I?? Freaking love Rise?? It’s so beautiful and fluid! I feel like it gets too much hate for deviating too far from the source material, but that’s what makes it fun.
Figures that the best episode of Craig of the Creek is the one I haven't seen yet. I was trying to give the show a chance, but it did bore me some times and.. at some point a were cringy but those moments were just because the demographic that it's aimed at. Kids being kids, basically. Which I admire that they make a show about kids doing kid things. Heck, I remember doing some or most of the things they've done.. but now that I'm older, it's a little cringy. It's an actual kids cartoon doing what kids actually do, aimed at kids, so naturally the older audience tends to find it not too desirable. But I do find JP really funny. Reminds me of a less obnoxiously stupid Ed from Ed Edd n Eddy.
O.O Bow has no belly button.... OMG YOU COULD TOTALLY make a conspiracy out of that! Bow isn't human. He's a a robot. An elf. A twerp. A Brystal Gem! I Genetically engineered? His own mother? His own sister? An anthropomorphic tree. an ... an .... an .... I ran out of steam.
Nice video. Hope you can tackle the shows not on this list soon, like the She-ra reboot, Big City Greens or Harvey Street Kids. Hope you have a good time doing so.
I mean, the new Megaman show is being released on cartoon network so I doubt that it will ever get marketed, aired or anything that cartoon network doesn't do to any other show
The first season of Matt Groening shows are usually pretty mediocre. Futurama is usually an exception (episodes like “A Fishful Of Dollars” have Characters like Fry act out of character). I’m not saying to make your expectations for part 2 sky high, but just stay optimistic.
The new star wars cartoon is alright but it feels like something I would catch on the old nicktoons channel back when it was alive. Creg of the Creek is just an overall appealing show. Disenchantment was mediocre at best. It was alright but really picked up near the end of the season Im OK with Rise of the Turtles. As a ultra Megaman fan im use to the universe getting constantly rebooted. The TMNT is no different. It's fun as hell at its best and meh at its worse This was a good good good damn year for captain underpants. Not only is he finally in the lime light again. This cartoon is basically more of what you want. This was the cartoon I been waiting almost 14 years to see and I love every second of it. I wish I had a time machine so i can bring my younger self from the past to watch this cartoon with. Big hero 6 is basically the poster child of the second Disney cartoon era. Like back in the day they had a bunch of cartoons adapted from their movies and now's it's back in full and fun force. Granted they will never hold candle to the goof troop seires. As a fan of the total drama seires, this cartoon was really alright. Yeah It took the Muppet baby's approach, but overall I actually grew to like it in its later episodes. Its clear that their not trying to be like the others and really pushed that alternate universe aspect. Overall all the characters are spot on with their orginal personality but with a childish spin. This show doesn't make me super excited, but it'd good for a bindge from time to time. Hilda, it's god damn wonderful, go watch it. If this doesn't get another season I will riot. If this show came out on PBS back in the early 2000s this would be a mega franchise by now. For final space, everything in the show is amazing, except for Gary's voice . It's god damn dreadful, it annoys me to no end Once again as a megaman fan who lived through and experiened almost all the eras and iterations of Megaman. This is truly one of his best cartoons yet. This is Megaman to a t with some visual changes. I know it's in cgi but as a lover of the Legends era, this fits right at home. The moves of Classic, the look of X, and the buddy system of Battle network and star force makes this cartoon makes this the best megaman cartoon ever made.
The only 2 Western animated shows that did not disappoint this year were Castlevania season 2 and Hilda, the rest are just so forgettable & lackluster.

Olan Roger's probably raised his voice several octives worth of excitement when he found out he was getting to work with people like John Dimaggio and Tom Kenny. Olan had been trying to pitch Final Space to a network for almost 8 years. Hell in Non-American owned Netflix accounts, Final Space is referred to as a "Netflix Original" despite having a weekly upload schedule on TBS. This was hands down my favorite Tom Kenny role. The feeling of doubt and fear Tom putting into his character "Hue" reminding Gary how much available oxygen he has left in his suit as Gary floats in the coldest darkest part of "no space" Hue was the most compelling character in all of Final Space. Its like he learns along with Gary throughout their adventure to seal off Final Space. He starts off obeying his pre-selected programming "Do what the Infinity Guard expects of your punishment Gary" to "My only perogrative is to make sure Gary is safe"
I agree that more people should give Mega Man: Fully Charged a chance! My younger brother is a big Mega Man fan, so he made me watch the new show, and although I sorta made fun of it at first, it grew on me during later episodes!

You did a great job expressing your opinions and describing everything.
Just a nitpick, but these should've been seperate lists. I tend to listen to videos more than watch, and the switching really got me confused on what was good and bad. That's kinda my own fault, though. Great video, and I'll have to check out these shows sometime!
here's a tip for "staying hip with the kids": memes are not the way, they die out very quickly and set a timer on its relevance. When a meme dies out people who still use it or things that contained them are shunned and forgotten. i mean yea memes are funny and can get you some quick popularity, but when that timer hits zero it is off limits, if you want to make a quality product. The best you can make out of a dead meme is something so shitty it loops back around to being funny.
Why do people get angry for when someone or something uses memes to be hip when they are TOTALLY okay with Garbagesette, a "MEME" that's also tries hard to be hip!
Greenbart (ha, Bart) has the same problem I do, where I sing Christmas songs in June, but when Christmas comes around I instantly get tired of the songs after one week of hearing them.

I'll give you points for the first two, but the next three? I was kinda enjoying Dragon Prince, until She-Ra came along and made me realise just how awkward it was. I mean She-Ra's derivative, but at least it doesn't take itself too seriously. Dragon Prince is both painfully unoriginal, and really wants me to buy into it's 'so old there's mold growing on them' tropes. I like it's moral ambiguity, and the character designs. The glacial pace of the plot on the other hand could do with tightening up, and please, please could they do something about the frame rate.
@@AnalogSystem It will certainly help. At the moment I think it's the factor that hurts the show most. I do intend to give it a second chance. It's just been a very packed winter for great shows.
the only show on this list i liked was disenchantment and i didnt even like it at first. decided to give it the 3 episode rule and before i knew it i binged all 10 in 1 day. the show really got better each episode. the only problem i had was with elfo. how he was so depressed in the elf village , so negative, and hated the happy go lucky villagers lifestyle then as soon as he leaves become that happy go lucky himself.

No one hates me more than myself
Not fair. No one loves Star Wars more than Star Wars fans.
RiderNexus Star Wars fans don't hate Star Wars. They hate poorly written garbage, nonsensical characters and political agendas shoehorned into literally everything.
CronoDyne Okay, but every Star Wars trilogy had Political Agendas
The Prequels: Palpatine was an allegory of George Bush
The Original Trilogy: The whole trilogy was an allegory of the Cold War
In regards to Big Hero 6, I don't think it needs to be totally silly or totally serious. I like that it has a mix, it makes it feel a bit more realistic as life isn't 100% serious nor silly.
Wait.. No boss baby review in this video? 0/10
To be honest the show got good when wood man came in
The show started off a bit shakey but most megaman media has that problem especially when it's a new series. The only one that hit the ground running was X. Overall it grew in to something great. Something that stands above all the other megaman cartoons ( not counting the X OVA)
You're quite wrong if you think people hate it "mindlessly". It has a loooot of problems. Personally, my biggest one was the awful dialogue.
Let's be clear. A lot of people are not "Mindlessly hating on it" I don't think it's terrible. but it's not good. It's like.. A solid 5-6/10, on the high side of average. That does however not mean that people can/should not enjoy it.
If there's a series i highly recommend you watch it would be Camp Camp, an adult cartoon on RUclips made by rooster teeth, it is amazing.

2018: the year of cartoons with really choppy animation.
They're getting lazy
It dont matter to the kids
I think it's more that expressiveness is in, and as a result the detail of the art style or the flow of the animation was sacrificed.
Honestly I prefer the first. Sure having detailed art looks good in still frames, but if it looks like ass in motion it's really distracting.
Philweasel
There are shows with really expressive animation and really fluid movement.
Philweasel
It was less of a criticism and more of an observation of mine, but okay.
You should've included Big City Greens. It's very funny and has creative writing.
I agree with you it is one of my new favorite Disney channel cartoons and I really love all the characters in this show especially Tilly who I think might be one of my favorites so far in the show
OMG YES
Agreed. I didn't expect to like the show at first, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's definitely worth a watch.
Too be honest people have to give disenchantment some lack even the Simpson’s during season one weren’t that good
Well Dragon Prince with 9 episodes still makes it extremely slow.
You forgot “& Knuckles” in the title.
I played you in Splatoon today lmao
Shigu Shingu But I was playing Smash...
till this day im still obsessed over hilda...
Finally they added Gutsman's ass in the new Megaman cartoon
Fred's dad will probably have a different voice actor.

WHY IS CRAIG SO DEPRESSED AT THE END
The CGI in Mega-Man: Fully Charged reminds me of Paw Patrol.
Was I the only one who thinks that?
paw patrol having better and more uniform character models
It's because the characters have similar hair styles. And I think animated by the same studio
Big City Greens is severely underrated. Most enjoyable cartoon I’ve seen all year.
I didn't wanna like it, but I loved all the episodes I did see. Now I'm fully invested.
I agree this show is very underrated as I hear absolutely no one online talking about it and I really think it does deserves a lot more love and attention as much as the other cartoons of this decade!

In my opinion, Final Space is *horifically* underrated.

@@sav9230 Total DramaRama is bad but my 16-year-old brother and I enjoy it.
Yeah! I’ve seen a bit of it, should finish it up and talk about sometime. Feels a bit like spectacular spidey but it’s kinda it’s own thing too
If you never really watched Total Drama, why do you think the franchise should have died 6 years ago?
@@ultrairrelevantnobody1862 I know what you mean there.

@Slow Moe
Not really, in fact, i even came across a 3 part review of the show on Reddit. It's an interesting read.
@Unicorn Bunny
He said he never watched Total Drama so him saying "the franchise should have ended six years ago" is very dishonest. How can you say that when you haven't watched it? It's clear that he's following the popular opinion.
TMNT's animation is FANTASTIC! I adore the style and frankly I agree with Nathaniel, it's super charming.
I wonder if Hilda will be able to rival Gravity Falls. I've already heard some people say they liked Hilda more so far. Guess we'll have to see in season 2.
Gravity Falls is better IMO. Much funnier with more unique characters.
@@greenekj6 Hilda is much more original

I love looking back on this year. I'd love to see Alex Hirsch's new show
You seemed to imply that Star Wars the Clone Wars was as trope filled and predictable as Resistance.
But if you are legitimately surprised just check out this clip of a brutal fight scene where two guys fight for the right to be declared leader of a planet: ruclips.net/video/nE1Cv7lM0YA/видео.html
hello there
obi wan my dude, I think you misunderstood.
@@Obi-Wan_Kenobi thank you for this

It shows a lot of promise! I'm glad it's getting a season 2 because I think it has potential to be fantastic with some more character growth.

Which was a terrible adaptation of the original comic which had actual stakes, characters learning and growing, and even some really cool stuff we will never see brought to the screen such as Raphael becoming the Shredder, the battle damage carried over from previous issues (including the loss of fingers/toes and in one case an eye) and so on.
Greg Sanders
Yeah, of course, it was different and more serious.

As a once Marylander myself, I feel the exact same way.

I frickin love Rise of the TMNT. Possibly even more than 2012. I love how it is more silly and lighthearted show.

It was alright but really picked up near the end of the season
Im OK with Rise of the Turtles. As a ultra Megaman fan im use to the universe getting constantly rebooted. The TMNT is no different. It's fun as hell at its best and meh at its worse
This was a good good good damn year for captain underpants.
It's god damn dreadful, it annoys me to no end
Once again as a megaman fan who lived through and experiened almost all the eras and iterations of Megaman.

The feeling of doubt and fear Tom putting into his character "Hue" reminding Gary how much available oxygen he has left in his suit as Gary floats in the coldest darkest part of "no space"
Hue was the most compelling character in all of Final Space. Its like he learns along with Gary throughout their adventure to seal off Final Space.
Greenbart (ha, Bart) has the same problem I do, where I sing Christmas songs in June, but when Christmas comes around I instantly get tired of the songs after one week of hearing them.
claiming people hating the star wars sequels is "irrational" is just completely wrong, there is many reasons to hate it.
"Get ready dreamland cuz we're about to make an animation oversaturation!"
Honestly, Star Wars resistance's syle looks like the style of Iron Man: Armoured Adventures
i feel like rise of the tmnt needs a bit more time for it to really get great, but the animation is pure eye candy and im living for the new take on april. it's definitely a fun time!
Man, I can't wait for the series premiere of Rise of The Epic Tales of Final Big Hero Hilda Disenchantment Dramarama Resistance: Fully Charged and the Princesses of Power and Knuckles!
7:04 If you want more of him, watch IT Crowd from around season 2. Douglass.
TOTAL DRAMARAMA ISNT BAD.
it’s just not as good as the original
Hey Nicktendo, the worst cartoons of 2018 aren't even covered!
Hey, will Robo still be on your Sonic movie podcast? Just asking because I'm thinking a new episode will be out thanks to the new poster
Yup! She’s not leaving the podcast. She’s only slowing down the stressful stuff not little side projects like this.
12:26 is this sakuga sequence actually from the captain underpants cartoon?? If so, which episode?
I like that The Adventures of Kid Danger, a January premiere, seems to have been forgotten (It's also currently on no Nick channel)
Thats because Total Dramarama is a spinoff, thats why theres no eliminations.
I really love the ROTTMNT artstyle and animation, the saturated, neon, 80s inspired color scheme. It makes me happy! :)
Here's my list of cartoons that I wached and thought were either the best or worst of 2018.
Best
1.Hilda
2.Final Space
3.Dragon Prince
4.Disenchantment
5.Rise of the TMNT
Worst:
1.Shera and The princess of power
2.Totaldramarama
3.Mega Man supercharged
4.Star Wars Rebels
What's wrong with Rebels?
Why Shera?
It is fully charged not super charged
Rise of the TMNT is one of my favorite on this list.
the only show on this list i liked was disenchantment and i didnt even like it at first. decided to give it the 3 episode rule and before i knew it i binged all 10 in 1 day. the show really got better each episode. the only problem i had was with elfo. how he was so depressed in the elf village , so negative, and hated the happy go lucky villagers lifestyle then as soon as he leaves become that happy go lucky himself.
I-I actually liked Dis-Enchanted and really want the next season to come out!
i havent seen anyone appreciate final space so far, its a lot better than most ppl say, thx for talking about it bro
Why didn't you cover 3Below? I thought that would be one of the firsts.
