Usually when a wrestler wins a World Title it’s a moment which signifies that they’ve made it to the top of the industry, and going forward on they’ll remain at the top of the card. Sadly though, as history has shown us, this is not always the case. No, sometimes a performer reaches the mountaintop only to fall back down again after their title reign is over. But who are the biggest examples of this in wrestling history? Well, that’s exactly what we’re going to be looking at today.

Guys like Big E, Kofi, Dolph and Rey never went back to the main event scene after losing their titles really sucks because they’ve work so hard at getting the championship and never got a chance to get it back

Dolph Ziggler is probably the most screwed wrestler of the 2000s & 2010s. He proved that he has the ability to be a main event talent. Even after winning the world heavyweight title, I felt like they should have done more with the reign. After he lost it, He never got the opportunity to win it again.

The only reason Jinder won the title was to promote WWE in India.
I mean he's still pretty sick he was just booked in a "modern" "socially acceptable" way for kids in a way bunch of rich online coastal elites think India would like. If they let Jinder do whatever he wanted and let real Indians help book him then would have been the best run ever an India version of stone cold but if he was a giant brown Alexader the great on a war elephant waging war as a final boss a way better roman reigns so cartoonishly bad it's almost a Tekken or final fantasy charter with a Indian punisher jigsaw mixed with tony Montana with a different culture, but there was no way anybody would air or sponsor it because how offensive it would be too general audiences, we never got a good wade Barrete, Daivari, Jinder, mexican faction, natives, etc and we will never get good foreigner storylines for political reasons, think of how many potential 99 rated wrestlers there might have been that never got a chance all over the world because it was a brand risk, I'll tell you brother there was probably more 99 rated Brazilian wrestlers in realities without brand risk scores then there is of all wrestlers right now, we only get the bloodline, oba, and a few others now that gen z is replacing millennials and vets replace suits the pendulum has swung and it's still somewhat cartoonish compared to its potential a better more intelligent evolved attitude era.
The Big Show turned into the Big Joke and Kane turned from the Big Red Machine to the Big Red Jobber.
The problem with swagger as whc is that he was not ready for the main event/ he was booked 50/50 and worst all he lost his iconic entrance no more push ups nor pyro

@@prize5ighter I thought sheamus because Brock Lesnar was unclear about who to wrestle at WrestleMania 39 and I thought since Brock eliminated drew last rumble ,it was the perfect moment for drew vs Brock rematch in which Brock getting his revenge .
And since sheamus lost to Gunther in SummerSlam, winning that IC championship at WrestleMania with a singles match with him and Gunther would have been perfect.
The way Vince and wwe treated Kofi was disgusting. All that build up to win the wwe championship and all the hard work Kofi put y into his reign and Vince still treated him as a mid card loser. Kofi deserved better.

Not really. It’s not like his title reign was just the usual. His lasted for 666 days. It would idiotic to demote him after that accomplishment. He’s pretty much ready to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship, whoever gets it.
They are setting him up to fued with Cody for the next two months while Roman takes some Time off.
The ic title reign was just a warmup. It just shows how much a workhorse champion he is and he can be a dominant champ like roman. The world heavyweight championship gladly waits for him 😈😈

I've always loved guys like Rey, Miz, Ziggler, kofi, Sheamus and Finn they can move up to the main event when you need them or back down for a mid card title or wherever and they always put on a good match, doesn't even matter who it's against

Rey's character/persona always worked way better as an underdog, making him world champion (he deserved it ofc) made his character hard to work as the ultimate underdog

I don't know if it's completely fair to put Big E in here. He was injured so soon after he lost the championship. Granted he was another victim of Brock Lesnar taking the championship off a black man(literally everytime! Kofi, Lashley, and Big E.), but the injury kind of derails any theory that he would have stayed in the mid card. We just don't truly know what they would have done with him.

LOL...the "Brawling Brutes" should have been called the "3rd Class Titanic Passengers" (or the Dirty Potato Eating Micks)...they looked like that's what they were cosplaying as. There are only a handful of titles in WWE. Not everyone can be a champion. Being on screen every week is more important. Look at AEW. They have 8,000 belts and none matter. Those championships are not helping the wrestler's who have them.

Nikki ASH got over with crowds. This is what modern wrestling is missing and that’s fun goofy gimmicks. An even bigger missed opportunity is not having Hurricane Helms and Might Molly return to mentor her (which makes no sense since Helms and Holly are both signed to WWE as producers and legends and Helms made a rumble appearance)

And yes Nikki got over with fans and even became Ms MITB and Women's champion. Like I said she was going nowhere with her crazy girl gimmick after inSANITY was released.
