Hi Blase, I bought xh2s almost a year ago because of your beautiful content. I really satisfied with the camera. Hope you keep making content that related with this camera (or any filmmaking/color grading tips). This channel deserves more subscribes!
Awesome video!! I'm planning on upgrading from the X-T2 to the X-H2s, so I'm staggered to have discovered that Smallrig don't make a HDMI clamp for their own cage to go with this camera. Granted, it sports a full size HDMI port, but I'd still be much more comfortable having it clamped, as I imagine many others would be as well. With my X-T2 I've had to use a clamp designed for the Sony A7 that just happens to perfectly fit the X-T2 if it's in a Smallrig cage, or copy of a Smallrig cage in my case, and even THAT clamp isn't made by Smallrig! I think you highlight an issue that more manufacturers, and especially such a popular company as Smallrig, need to address; that people want to clamp their HDMI and USB C ports and there should be clamps readily available for every cage and every popular camera model...
Thank you for the tip on the 3D printed cable protection blocks on EBay. I might have to pick those up for tethered shooting. Sorry that you had a bad experience with your HDMI port... But it is widely held that powering off USB-C is really not a good idea. That port, even with the protection block, is way to sensitive and finicky. I would love to hear more details on how your port blew?
Thanks! Yeah there is a whole video I made about the situation and potential solutions to prevent it moving forward. Curious to hear more on why powering via USB C isn’t “widely held.” Are there other videos or articles that explain more?
Solid video bro! I have the small rig vmount adapter that tilts like yours. It has 1/4 20 access that I’m not using, but now I’d like to use them the same way you’re using yours - to press the fan against the cam. Would you mind sharing the screws and padded pieces you used for that?
The screws were just ones that fit that I had lying around. I am not sure on the size as they are probably different with my plate being from Nitze. The pads are simply the rubber earbud tips from headphones that I also had lying around. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the info! Could you like the HDMI cable you're using? Also running the smallrig cage and the last 90 degree set I bought didn't have enough clearance to go over the top of the cage. TIA
been a fuji user since xt-1. Sadly they're lost their way, so many issues with autofocus and firmware updates. Really wantds to update to the XH2-s but too many video of people having issues. There's no reason than in 2024 Fuji can't figure out autofocus.
Interesting. The AF has always worked great for me but that said I have not updated to the latest firmware after hearing about folks having issues. I personally just wait to update firmware for good while until others report back about bugs. Same goes for mac os, Davinci Resolve, or anything else I rely on for work.
Check the comments of that video but in short, I now just follow the protocol common for SDI - "last in, first out" as it seems to be the most sure way to prevent something from happening. And then in addition, I now use several of the items in this video to help cables stay locked in :)
It’s $200 brother. I have the ulanzi fan for the same reason. It gets the job done and is around 70% cheaper. The fuji fan is wildly overpriced, though I would like to buy it used someday!

Thanks so much. Yeah totally agree. Glad to have found these products that work really well!

@@blasepivovar haha bro that is awesome. Straight up Pro-Grade DIY. Thanks man, that helped a ton!
@@Eyeofkamau@blasepivovar I just got the ulanzi v2 fan in and was wondering how the heck I was supposed to fix it in place. Thank you to you both 😎

@@blasepivovar what firmware are you currently using? V1.03 seems to be the only version where AF bug isnt present.

@@blasepivovarthanks! are you pulling your hdmi cable before powering down your monitor each time (not battery swap)?

Why don’t you use the original fan for XH2S from Fuji?

Yeah just was curious about trying the cheap one as I haven't seen many folks using it
