Right! Matt picks on the ‘mudflood’ or resets community too much, but it’s honestly the most interesting and mind opening exercise that’s available in the truth community. It was a deliberate attempt to get everyone alive today to forget our collective history since it tells us so much about ourselves (including how to live or ‘step 2’ doing the work if we study how people that may have been more spiritually aware lived in their day-to-day than modern people who just slave labor all day for things we don’t actually need to survive).

It seems most of the commenters are not really involved, but I promise you, it's role in this place is massive.

When i roll the dice, i tend to roll doubles or the "spooky" numbers over and over like 333 or 666 in different ways. I will roll double 6's more than half the time, and ive tested different dice, different rolling surfaces, ive thrown them on the dang floor! And they roll consistently the same numbers. Im not always into religious superstitions but it makes me think twice when this happens and it doesnt happen to friends... Ive also considered hitting up the casino, maybe im good at craps?! Lol.

I think what Matt says about the game being after the fact may point to why this detail appears within the game books. This takes place before the internet. If you want this information to be spread beyond the likes of researchers etc then these books seem like a great way of doing that. Even more so if you want people to have the info without attracting attention. If you have a set of esoteric grimoire type books on your shelf that could invite suspicion, but if instead they're in the form of books for a game no-one will think twice. 999 out of a 1000 of the holders of these books likely rarely even bother reading all the background info as they're focussed on the game. The 1 out of a 1000 initiated ones however may treat them in the inverse way, not bothering with the game and going straight to the esoteric goodies?

I was born into to the christian Cult, Baptist to be exact. We were programmed to beLIEve that all other religions were cults and that we were not supposed to even look into the other cults. In high school my friend introduced me to Dungeons and Dragons the role playing game. I ended up buying some of the books mentioned today.
The christian Cult programming was so heavy that I ended up burning those books and repenting for playing such a satanic game.
I started to read the bible and over time I came to the realization the the ju deo myths in the bible were no different than the Dungeons and Dragons books I had read.
I now know that the bible is used to imprison the mind of whoman consciousness in order to control the masses.
When I decided to cast our the evil spirits, father, son and ghost, I stopped feeling like a worthless sinner and started living free from the chains that bound me to those possession spirits.

Jim Ward played about the wildest games, but I had the impression he was just making up the adventures and the rules off the top of his head.
He wasn't a weirdo or an occultist as far as I could tell.
Everyone just seemed like wargameras who had adopted role playing as one of the things they did.
Most continued to do what we had started doing, what had already been done: wargames with tanks, battleships, or soldiers on a big scenic board.
It was all serious rule driven strategies and tactics in wargames.
It involved being able to do quick mathematical calculations of probabilities, combined with measuring out movement and shots on the game board.
The best players made up the stories off the tops of their heads and played fast and loose with the rules, except as a general structure.
The dungeon master wouldn't let you go backwards even if you caught him violating the rules. He would make up and excuse of how some particular freak occurrence changed the odds of your character being hit by a freak incident.
The object was to keep the fun going and not get bogged down in rules disputes.
Most of those original players were normal, working, men, geeks, wargaming geeks, having some fun over their beer and chips.
There were no girls, although they would have got a lot of attention.
Some wives at home, sure, but not gaming wives.
Anyway, all the planes information that you are talking about just seemed to be filler - some nut's imagination.
I wouldn't be sure Gygax wrote that part, because it was a sort of collective enthusiast's endeavor.
Now, I wish I could go back in time and ask around about who contributed that part of the rules.

It's like how I sort of wish I could go back and ask my grandmother every detail she remembers about the Chicago World's Faire.
It was her mother who met her father there, but she might have heard things about it from her mother.
I didn't think to ask about it when I was a child.

Gary Gygax died a long time ago, but someone wrote a great biography, and it was like a flashback to read it. I had no idea what was going on with the business aspect of gaming at TSR, but they offered me a chance toi buy preferred stock before it went public. There was a time when they had severe financial difficulties just before the game broke big on ET.
      Is that another coincidence?
My parents wouldn't let me sell some gift tock from my grandmother to buy the stock, thinking I would be throwing away my money on my weird fad.
I would have been rich, but I was too young to sell stock.
But it was wild times in Lake Geneva in that era, and the book recaptured the wild West cowboy era of role-playing gaming, just as its popularity was growing, and people started fighting about the money.
Gary Gygax had an Arabian Horse farm in Wisconsin, just like my parents at the time.
That had to be a coincidence.

I have to add that I always loved those Wild West atmospheres, where things were happening and the doors were open for anyone with enthusiasm to get involved.
Everybody made contributions of ideas and they were welcome if they made sense.
Seattle in the Eighties was like that.
But everyone was fleeing the high prices and the traffic by the late nineties.
It had attracted artists from all over the country in the eighties.
Anyway, there is no telling who contributed the well researched astral plane and occult information.
As nobody seemed to use it, it might have been a financial backer who asked to include it.

My friends and I played dnd in highschool. We didn't want anyone to know so we said we played Monopoly. Lol. We had alot of 3.5 edition books 100$ of dollars worth. Very late nights going into 4am playing awesome times. The imagination ran wild. It did feel dark at times even resulting in throwing up the energy got so dark. I think the Dm we had really got into it, I swear he was channeling spirits to act out the Npcs. We really got into it. Definitely something to it. its fun but you have to be very careful its like a opening to a type of ouiji board but way more in depth way more detail. Imo. good video, you would be a good DM Matt.
And trying to make it into a video game, Idk, the game is so open minded, it would take so much space. Unless they came out with series of Campaign books? But a DM creating their own world with everything all the books have to offer would be to much detail and you would have to add a massive world builder with NPcs, tunnel networks, towns, villages, cities, endless random encounters, quests and endless decisions.
I remember playing with my friends and starting in a town and so much random stuff could happen and there never was a end. Just a end of a quest and on to the next quest or if your player died of old age but we didn't calculate time like that. The dms I played with said this game never ends. Until your character dies.

I regret that I only just saw this video now! I absolutely love DND and anything related. I'm sure that it played a huge part in this community in opening people up to the truth in the same way that movies did for you. And DND was the foundation for modern high fantasy which played a huge part in waking me up. Aside from that, the majority of the fantasy genre probably derives from DND! There are many DND video games such as Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nighs, or Dungeons and Dragons Online, and countless ones that were intentionally based on DND such as EverQuest so I can't agree that DND never made it into the video game space. These games all have similar vocabulary, similar "planes" of existence, stat allocation, tropes, references, teachings, characters, etc. as the original DND if not more so just due to how much DND and fantasy lore have been expanded upon since its creation in the 70s.

It's all mind control to get us to identify with "the mind", a fiction in itself but nonetheless a very seductive illusion.

Another great topic, Matt. I never played these games but went down the occult rabbit hole for some time. It was mind boggling and got complex. Overload on the brain for sure. I now go with the theory........if it's complex it's not real. The occult rituals give people a false sense of power when they are just on another animal farm. They too have been tricked by the higher demon gods/fallen ones, thinking that they have the secret knowledge to spiritual advancement.
I read the book, The Spiritual Hierarchies and the Physical World: Zodiac, Planets & Cosmos by Rudolf Steiner and I don't think this is our spiritual world but the spiritual world of the demons. It seems to be set up just like here on planet earth. In the real spiritual world there is no hierarchy like a corporate organization chart. I tend to believe more on the side that the true god is a frequency. You cannot put a face or body on it. The gods with faces and bodies are the fallen ones. They have to use their technology to manifest changes in this world. We are more powerful and don't need the technology, but unfortunately we have been kept in the dark as to our true spiritual abilities. How simple this world would be if everyone would just stop feeding the beast. Walk away and never turn back. But perhaps there are just too many artificial souls here for this to ever happen.

Cool beyond words but odd in that there was this basic game of characters running around super complex underground dungeons and then this master work of the worlds mythology. I also kept much of my original material.

Matt I love a lot of your videos...and then some of your videos like this one just make me really confused how you can be so smart and insightful at other times. Because this is just so completely anti-intellectual and just seems to be made to attack imaginative people. This all is "required" to play. The game is more fun the more lore you can weave into the world and for your character. That's the point. The entire game is just imagined in your head. The more the game book can describe of the world the more fun it is. This is just hateful against nerds.... nor your best video I'll say that. And I don't even play DnD.
You sound like the bullies that made fun of me and my friends in middle school. Just not cool man. Idk how someone that's created an entire religion and spiritual framework of their own creation for themselves to believe can be so closed minded but it really weirds me out.

The DM needed two books and a way to shield his area. The Dungeon Master's Guide and the Monster Manual. That's it. Everything else was and is optional fluff.
Technically all you need to play AD&D is a notebook, a pencil and a set of goofy dice. One person needed to actually understand the rules.

Idk, i guess i presumed it was like other games and you just play it out of the box after learning rules, but i got into it and realized its like ya fabricate the game scenarios as ya go and required one person to be a dungeon master manager.
Well, i couldnt get any of my friends interested in it and the recent methods of soloing rules systems didnt exist as far as i knew so i just returned it back to store. Lol
I mean, i thought, well if im just having to generate whats going on in my imagination then whats the point of needing all the extra mapping and planning and writing story, talking it all out? I can just makeup all that in my imagination.
