Just played some arena. Had a decent deck, not terrible, but had some bad games and sat at 4-2.
Played vs a Paladin.
Turn five he coin Mysterious Challengers...got every single pally secret. I conceded on the spot.

+ljaquos Without any class cards, Paladin is strong because of his hero power, which gives you basically a free minion even if it's a 1-1, it can give you a lot of free aggro which is the main point of every arena decks

Paladin IS the best class, but not because of its cards. It's because of the emotes. When playing pally, you have the max BM capabilities, and that's why it's so powerful. Well met!

Since pali is so frequently picked in arena, the average Pali player seems sort of easy to counter for the reasons kripp is mentioning. Their win condition often comes with strong tempo/value plays early in the game (til turn 5). But if they don't manage to get an huge early advantage, a lot of midrange and control decks tend to win easily, especially classes which are able to counter their hero power: rogue, Mage, druid.
I liked hearing you discuss Paladin Kripp. I've been playing it since beta and it's not the god class people currently make it out to be.
It's an easy class to counter, you just need to know your opponent. I think most people struggle with that aspect and label it imbalanced.

I am doing very well with Druid and Mage. Druid just got very good tools for curving out.
I've played a bunch of arena recently, and I've found shaman to be good too, a lot of removal, good commons such as totem golem and rockbiter weapon and the tuskarr totemic can just outright win you the game sometimes.
+FatalityKnife yeah, Kripp for some reason thinks shaman is the worst next to priest but IMO it's comparable with warrior and slightly worse than rogue at the moment. I'd place it right between rogue (3rd) and warrior (5th).
Yeah definitely, and the amount of shitty cards (like bolster) aren't that many for shaman, it's my go to pick when I am low on gold and need some.

I recently had one of my sickest drafts ever, 2 nerubian eggs with 4 uldamans. Who doesnt love a 3/3 2 drop with deathrattle summon 4/4
Palladin was an option in my past 5 arena runs. i picked it 5 times
Recently I had great success with rouge, average a bit more than 7 wins in 12 runs.
Paladin might be a bit more dominant than Rogue and Mage, but the real issue is that Shaman, Priest, Warlock, Warrior etc. don't have the same amount of power in the more common slots, or they do, but they are synergy-related cards that do not always work in an arena deck.

I went 12 wins twice in my last 4 Paladin Arena runs. That's why it's strong. But now I meet a lot of easy to beat Warriors in Arena, so thanks Kripp. Real powerful class, Warrior. lmao

I share that idea. I think the food chain goes paladin > rogue > mage. I don't have a lot of experience with paladin vs mage in arena
Today in arena i fought the same paladin twice and lost both.
he played mysterious challenger on turn 6 both times and then got 4 secrets out of the which were noble sacrifice, avenge, revive one and repentance.
I think paladin is the best because he has way more insane cards in arena than any other class and most of them are common. It's just not really possible to get a paladin deck with no really powerful card in it, and when you get a lot of the really powerful cards you can get an unstoppable deck. Meanwhile rogue (2nd place IMO) has only a few good cards (backstab, dark iron skulker, SI:7, etc.) and most of them are rare or combo cards, which aren't that easy to trigger sometimes. Also because there are fewer great cards and a lot of them are rare, you're not that unlikely to get a rogue deck with none of these much needed cards that make rogue good.
*tl;dr:* paladin is better than rogue on average and has a higher ceiling
imo you didn't name a single powerful rogue arena card besides backstab xd

SI-7 though is not better than backstab in my opinion. Backstab is just more versatile. Just because you can play it at 0 mana.

Yes, it has Dark Iron Skulker in it. But I got to maybe use him in like only 2 or 3 matches.
The real mvps here were Backstab, Goblin Auto-Barber, and Pit Snake. The Backstab and Barber would clear early drops, help me establish the board, and then I would drop a Pit Snake to kill any big monsters he would drop, and seal the game. Tomb Pillager is also pretty good. And then there is sap (a single copy is fine), Assassinate, Eviscerate, Deadly Poison, Shado-Pan...

+Blahander Defias is also a good card but many are too dependant on getting the combo out- several palladin base cards don't have that problem.

Paladin is like upgraded hunter- its a rush class. It has all the low mana powerful cards. Its just a bit lacking for the high mana ones with synergy working. Mage and rogue have more for mid and late game.
well I think the general problem is that while the "average" deck for paladins may be mediocre the "good" deck beats out every other class meaning that if you're up against a pally and you've got like 7 wins or something you're probably gonna lose unless your deck is godlike but even then RNG would win you the game - currently they've got like the best early game - bar none - compared to every other class and early game is extremely important in arena.

I went 12-1 yesterday with a Pladin but i nerver expected it, i had 1 blessing of kings, two seal of champion and 1shielded minibot but no more of your mentioned cards.
I'd say people consider paladin the best because it's easier to get a good draft compaired to other classes, They also have the best dudes while having meh spells but in arena that can go in your favour since removal isn't always there like you want it to be.

Earlier I faced something that would have literally made Kripp quit arena for at least 2 streams.
Played against a paladin with literal perfect cards, in order
shielded minibot, muster, shredder, kvaldir, murloc knight (received 2/4 charge) truesilver, then I was dead.
Probably had a tirion and a dr.boom waiting for me if I survived.

Wait.. If those Pala cards are bad why I had 12-2 arena with Pala having 2 seal of champions 1 blessing of kings one truesilver one argent peotector one divine shield (spell for 1 mana) one blessing of wisdom and 2 uldaman keepers and I didn't had that score without those "bad" cards ??

People get don't many one mana minions in the draft and a lot of them are really terrible if you face a better 2 drop start to choose- shielded minibot and muster for battle are OP- guaranteed board presence.
Good weapons, spells, minions and hero power thats why.
Imo paladin got worse with LoE, because insane TGT cards (murloc knight and seal) are now way less common. Yeah, keeper is great and everything, but I'd rather have turn 3 insane tempo swing or murloc knight, than the ability to swing game IF opponent plays huge minion to turn it into 3\3.

My best classes in arena have been (consistently) 1. Warlock 2. Hunter 3. Paladin 4. The rest 5. Warrior
I think, yes, some classes are better in Arena than others and people rank them overall but YOU need to find YOUR classes.
Kripp, for example, does great with Warrior, I've seen him play and tried to learn... Me? 0-3 or at best 2-3 every single time.
